With a bit of luck I won't drop further than 3rd Pro Tour. Here I will not lose as much as I first thought to Jolly, and I might be able to hold off Wikipedia after the 2 races. Dave got 300 points on my atleast from the other race, but hopefully I get that back here...

Guess my previsions were somewhat correct, a decent 7th place is, I think, secured. Maybe he can even maintain his 6th place, but I find it very difficult

As I'm not gonna do squat in the TT, I can conclude I had a decent Giro. Nothing fancy, but I couldn't really expect more. Didn't have the luck when I finally had somebody in the break, but still earned some nice stage results from Klemme, Kruijswijk and Kreuziger plus three days in the white jersey.

I guess that's okay.

Damn so unlucky this Giro. Again 1 second behind Marzano. 10th is just not satisfying from Contador, but what can you do. Ardila nicely in 14th adds up a bit.

Can't wait to see the rankings now though - I must lead by a good mile to have any chance of PT victory in the end

Well, I think I proved that Wiggle has what it takes to be in with the Pro Tour in the seasons to come. The only team to finish with 9 riders. Oh yeah. Nocentini did better than expected, and far better than my other team...

Virgin did fairly bad. A few ok stage positions, but not even close to the amount of points I'd expect to have got. I suppose thats just the difference between a ok squad, and the top ones. Still, Phinney top 25 GC is a promising sign.

You are leading by 1000 points or so to Wikipedia in 2nd, slightly before Rabobank, and then me I think...

I feel quite sure I have tumbled well outside the Top 10 after these two races, and La Vuelta will not help me a lot getting back there. Georgia should though

From Catalunya, Gesink moves to 7th with Abal 23rd and race winner Abal 26th.

La Gazetta dello Sport really did dominate, amassing a huge total. Fittingly, the teams of the other 4 main riders of the race all complete the Top 5 teams points tally here. Most teams at least got a score of 300/200+ from the race - but Wikipedia really paying for a weak team and only taking 27 pts from the race.

Wikipedia can at least take comfort from top scoring in Catalunya with 588 pts, just ahead of Domina Vacanze on 564.

And how does this affect the standings? A huge lead now for La Gazetta dello Sport 1346 pts ahead of Rabobank who drop just 1 to first, not losing much at all on rivals Festina and Wikipedia, holding a 200 pt advantage on them while Wikipedia are closing in on Festina - even after their Giro.
Lipton are now much closer to those ahead in 5th with Accumalux also closing as they move to 6th.

Domina Vacanze are up 7 places as the 2nd best team out of the Giro and Catalunya combined. Philips are up to 8th and White Bear Wild Horse 9th but Warner Brothers fall 4 places to 10th. Virgin, B&O, Credit Lyonnais and SIC Radical also lose positions but the bottom 4 remain the same, and in the same order. Unicef scored marginally less than their relegation rivals but still hold a good buffer. American Suzuki pulled away by 43 pts on British Airways while it still looks like a tough ask for Eurosport.
