I doubt it. teams over here don't have much money
Liberty Seguros try to be a pro tour team again in 2008 or 2009 so they has to have some money
in 2005 he lost the overall by less than a second.
1 Vladimir Efimkin (Rus) Barloworld-Valsir 39.29.39
2 Candido Barbosa (Por) L.A. Aluminios-Liberty Seguros
3 Adolfo Garcia (Spa) Comunidad Valenciana 3.25

isso, have you been caught lying or you've commited a mistake? Certainly Candido is an eternal candidate, but he never loss for that difference. It was more, but he managed to win 3 stages in that year too, I guess. One in yellow jersey, if I am not wrong...
Don't know at sure, but....
Valve, this Liberty Seguros team is completely different from the other one...this one existed also when the other was in roads too. It is just a common sponsor, which have became the major sponsor this year with the withdrawal (change, btw) of LA Aluminios.
It is not planned to be a pro tour team, the easy way is Liberty buy again the Astana team. The portuguese team who have more money is Benfica, and their objective is to be present in Tour 2009. Maia and the former LA only managed to get in the Vuelta before the existence of Pro Tour.
And true must be said, in that LIberty Team just 3 riders would fit in a PT-team...Candido, Vitor Rodrigues and Nuno Ribeiro, who had already been in the other Liberty...

the top three in 2005 after the final time trial:
1 Vladimir Efimkin (Rus) Barloworld-Valsir 39.29.39
2 Candido Barbosa (Por) L.A. Aluminios-Liberty Seguros
3 Adolfo Garcia (Spa) Comunidad Valenciana 3.25
without looking I can tell you (because I remember that day so vividly) that he started the day 28 seconds behind on GC and made up 28 seconds on Efimkin. it came down to fractions of a second in the time trial.

they've been speaking to Unipublic (Vuelta organisers) about participating in the Vuelta next year.
in other news, Fortunato Baliano won the GP Cittá di Camaiore

Anyone keeping up with Vuelta a Fuentes? I mean Vuelta a Portugal? Gooo Mancebo and Sevilla! Beat those slipstream boys down.
When I look at the rider's participation, all i can think of is...where's the mayo?
Unfortunately, UCI is "holding the mayo". |

Well, it is not Vuelta a Fuentes, because there is only 12 riders implicated in Operacion Perto or doping. Look to Tour or to Vuelta. You will find much more...

not really, you won't find any in the Tour or Vuelta.
but the Puerto guys have done zero so far in the Volta. same goes for slipstream.
don't worry, the portuguese teams are doped up enough as it is... |

You won't find any who as been a public positive, but you hear names like Valverde, and so on...
Team Slipstream is the only tem in Volta who seems to need doping, because they are crap.

Taylor Phinney (USA) just won the Junior Time Trial World Championships. He rides for the Slipstream Junior team TIAA-Cref.
And if Slipstream has to dope to be good then i guess they will never be good. |

Taylor Phinney, who is that? I just know Danny PAte, former U23 WC TT champion too, and he finishes 36th in the prologue, with just 7 kilometres.

He is the son of Davis. but this Junior World Championships - CM , how old are these guys competing?
Edit: btw, Hagen won both stages of Paris-Corrèze and of course the GC
From cyclingnews.comRemember the name of Edvald Boasson Hagen, it will become a familiar one...

Vuelta a Colombia is almost over. Botero won more time on his rivals by finishing with stage winner Fabio Duarte.
today is the time trial, so Botero is the overall winner unless he crashes out, since he is by a long margin the better time triallist in the competition, and tomorrow, the last stage is a criterium.
The Volta a Portugal has it's first decisive mountain stage today. a short one at that, but the final climb should make for some interesting time gaps. let's see who's in yellow at the end of the day. |
