I've also read on a german/suisse internet site that he leaves Columbia. But no direction. |

No way he ever rides with Armstrong again. I don't think Hincapie likes Armstrong, I think he is much more likely to go to a team like BMC, with whom he could possibly get entry into the cobbled classics and maybe even the tour. |

He's not exactly a young guy, and dropped off a bit in his performances from last year.
I don't think he's a challenger for the cobbled classics anymore, more of a support rider there. And he's not as good a climber to help in GT's as he was in the past either.
Still a good helper and mentor, but I can see Columbia going for youth instead of keeping him until retirement. |

Armstrong talked about getting Hincapie to is future team (Trek - Livestrong, I belive) in a interview last February. He also told that it would be difficult in the future years, because he has a strong contract wit Columbia - but you never know... |

Okay better yet, they are an American team, it would help to have some Americans (Lewis and Tejay, are not quite as recognizable yet). Of course he has dropped off, but I think he feels he still has a shot at Roubaix. |

I'd love him to win Roubaix... I'm a big fan of George.
But his last podium in a cobbled classic was in 2006 (3rd in Ronde van Vlaanderen). That's 3 years without much in the way of results in the big cobbled races (and 4 from his 2nd in Roubaix). I know he's been plagued by mechanicals and crashes at bad moments... but it just doesn't feel like he's in that lead group anymore for those races.
I think he still has value as he can be a strong helper in ANY kind of race... mountains, flats, cobbles, TT's... he's solid all around. But I don't think he can lead anything anymore. |

I think Hincapie is over the incident with Armstrong. He probably found out after the stage that Astana was helping him. Still Hincapie isn't petty enough to hold a grudge.

With Hagen, Lokvist and Burghard going to team Sky, some new talent was needed at Colombia. |

Today was supposed to have been the day Lampre would announce the signing of Di Luca to a 2 year contract at a salary of 1.5 million euros/season.
