June 2009
Last "free" months for us. Finally. We´ll join only 3 classic races in USA. And again without Rujano and Medina. All our riders are out of condition.

Lehigh Valley Classic
Total flat race, nothing from us. And actually really boring race.
Early breakaway.
And mass sprint...Borrajo takes victory. All my men finished in peloton.

Reading Classic
This race is why we are in America. I´m wondering, why is this one important for our sponsors. We´ll try to be more active.
Franklin Chacon joined early breakaway and is very active in the front.
And he is still very active! Main contenders moved to the front and Franklin is still in the first group!
Boasson Hagen attacks and noone is respondoing!
And he wins quite easily with comfortable advantage ahead of chasers. Chacon takes respectable 10th place. It´s nice surprise.

Philadelphia International Championship
Very long race with several steep hills included. We´ll try to do some decent result.
Early escapees are about catch after almost 200km break.
Tom Zirbel attacks, main contenders follows him.
Here are new formed front group with decisive advantage over peloton. Unfortunately we have no men here.
1km to go, who will be the winner?
Tom Zirbel takes it! Great performance and season´s first victory for American.

July 2009
We´ll join four stage races. First of all in Portugal - five stage long GP Torres Vedras. Next we´ll remove to Spain, where is Vuelta a la Comunidad de Madrid. This race is very important, we have to reach KOM jersey, it´s one of our season´s main goals. Next we´ll ride Sachsen Tour international in Germany and finally Post Danmark Rundt. Very tough months is before us, we need some good results to extend our chances to gain WC for Vuelta a Espana.

GP Torres Vedras
Five stage long race with two hilly finishes may suit to our team.Especially Medina is in pretty good shape. However Rivas and Contreras stayed at home. Only 9 teams and 70 riders join this race, no real top riders are presented. Favourites should be Boasson Hagen or winner of Clasica de Alcobendas Gustavo Cesar Veloso and of course our leaders Jose Rujano and Manuel Medina.
Stage 1
Pretty hilly stage with short hilly finish. We should try to make some podium place.
Group of escapees.
Front group splits, Sieberg stays alone in front!
Other escapees are caught by peloton.
Crushing attack from our team at the bottom of last hill! We have Sieberg in sight.
That was close! But Sieberg holds his advantage until finish and takes yellow jersey. Rujano is 2nd, Medina 3rd. But that´s a good start for our team.

Stage 2
Flat stage will suit to sprinters, so we are without chance to succeed

Stage 3
This stage with two hills before finish suits us well and we´ll attack for yellow jersey!
Early breakaway group works fine together.
Manuel Medina attacks in first climb! That´s the part of our tactics.
Medina catches front group in the descent, but peloton is closer then expected...that´s not good.
Perez with Boasson Hagen attacks on flat! Some riders, including Rujano, counters - my bad tactics mistake!!
Both groups are together, but peloton is so close, last climb will decide and my men don´t feel to much fresh.
Albasini attacks front group, Medina drops out.
Group of 7 riders chases Team Colombia´s rider.
Rujano drops out from chaser´s group. Albasini still rides alone.
Boasson Hagen attack and Floyd Landis counters!
Both riders almost catched Albasini.
And this is very close sprint, but Albasini takes it! Double for Team Columbia, Boasson Hagen takes yellow jersey! Rujano is 8th, Medina still much worse...

Stage 4
Mostly flat stage with one small hill in late part of stage. Peloton should sprint together.
Early breakaway as always.
Manuel Medina feels very good today and attacks in small hill!
He goes over escapees and continues in solo ride...
..and his effort finishes 1km before finish
Veloso is the fastest man today.

Stage 5
Criterium with one short but steep hill.
Paleo is alone in front more then 100km.
Albasini attacks, Landis counters!
They go over Paleo and have some riders with lap back in sight.
Rodriguez attacks, Medina, Rujano, Perez and Herrero counters!
Duo are still in front, group of chasers can´t catch them.
And Albasini takes his second victory and yellow jersey. Landis goes for second position overall. Medina sprints ahead of Rujano as third, both guys will move up in GC. Good stage for our team overall.

Vuelta a la Comunidad de Madrid
This three stages long race is really important for us. Sponsors requires KOM jersey. It won´t be easy task, many outstanding climbers, especially from Spanish and Portuguese teams, are here. But we want to succeed. First stage is flat time trial, LL Sanchez is definitely main favourite to win. Second stage is for true climbers, with four mountain sprints and the highest point of race, Puerto de Morcuera. Last stage is hilly criterium, with no steep climb, but with 12 mountain sprint. We must be very active and decide for right tactics to gain KOM jersey.

Stage 2
Our tactics is simple - don´t let go away some non-overall riders to avoid loss chances for KOM jersey.
Vasquez joined first breakaway grou, but there are too many riders and Caisse d´Erpagne boys don´t let them go far away.
Group is about catch, Martinez attacks!
Failli, Szczepaniak and Fernandez Oliveira are next attackers.
Martinez is first on summit and continues in solo ride in front.
Puerto De Morcuera, Rujano sets the high pace in front of peloton, we don´t want to give more KOM points to Martinez.
Martinez is caught, Rujano still sets tempo and prepares for attack.
And here it is! Mosquera, Bernabeau and Pires follows.
Rujano is first on top ahead of motorcyclist, Pires and Mosquera. Peloton splits to several parts, 31 riders are in front group.
Puerto De Canencia, Pires attacks, Greenwood counters! Rujano, LL Sanchez, Ardila, Intxausti, Marque and few other try to follow.
Few kilometres later, we are on summit and things have completely changed! LL Sanchez is first ahead of Intxausti and Ardila.
And Sanchez continues in solo ride! Behind him are Ardila, Intxausti, Marque, Pires and Rujano. Next group contains Pardilla, Blanco, Clancy and Greenwood.
And last climb before us, Puerto Del Cerro De San Pedro. LL Sanchez is alone, but Pardilla with Blanco joins the group of chasers.
Sanchez is ahead with comfortable lead on chasers, Pardilla takes 2nd place and Pires 3rd on last mountain sprint.
Yellow jersey takes his 2nd victory in 2 days! He is on very good shape here.
Blanco sprints ahead of Pardila and other chasers. Rujano paid prize for his previous activity, lost contact in last kilometer and can´t fight for podium place. However he will wear KOM jersey tomorrow!

Stage 3
First real problem has appeared in my story. You know that one goal for this season is to win KOM jersey in this race. But the game always crashed while loading It is too risky to simulate stage and hope for miracle
So I decided that the best solution is to find similar stage in game and play it instead of damaged one.
I found and will play this one:
Hope my "copy/rename action" won´t destroy my save file for future

Here are only 6 mountain sprints instead of original 12, it definitely gives more chance to defeat KOM jersey for us. But we would work very hard.
MS I - 5 man in front with only small advantage on peloton, 1. Marzoli 2. Potgieter 3. Celis. Noone is dangerous at this moment.
MS II - 1. Intxausti (14 points at this moment) 2. F Masciarelli (12) 3. Pires (16)
It´s not good. But Rujano is still virtual leader with 18 points.
De la Fuente attacks, Rujano counters!
MS III - 1. De la Fuente (6) 2. Rujano (22) 3. F.Masciarelli (14). Very important points! But there are still 3 mountain sprints before us. David De la Fuente continues in solo ride.
Failli, Mosquera, Txurruka and Oliveira attack!
MS IV - 1. De la Fuente (12) 2. Txurruka (10) 3. Failli (6)
MS V - De la Fuente is still in front, group of chasers are caught by peloton just after sprint. 1. De la Fuente (18) 2. Failli (10) 3. Mosquera (12). Situation is clear before last mountain sprint. If De la Fuente will hold his leading, he´ll probably gain KOM jersey. LL Sanchez and Pires are remaining riders who can theoretically jeopardize us.
Rujano is very active in chasing of escapee!
And David´s mission is now over. He won´t be able to fight for KOM jersey anymore.
Ardila, Zaballa, Pardilla, Greenwood, Laverde (outside of picture) and Rujano attack the peloton! But Rujano is exhausted, I´m afraid he won´t stand the pace of this group.
Pardilla attacks front group in last climb! Only Zaballa can follow.
MS VI - 1. Pardilla 2. Zaballa 3. Laverde. Jose Rujano is best climber of this race!!! Peloton is closing to group of chasers.
Rujano´s group is about catch, Intxausti and Moreno attack!
They go past Zaballa, Pardilla is still ahead.
Moreno is really fast in sprint...
But it´s too late, Pardilla holds and wins laste stage!
Masciarelli sprints for 3rd position ahead of unlucky Intxausti.

3 very bad news
1) Game haven´t noticed our KOM jersey and goal is marked as failed! Stupid bug.
2) Organizateurs of Vuelta a Espana refused our request for wild card, another goal is away
3) Manuel Medina will leave us after season, we couldn´t give him an acceptable offer.
