Yes, it's normal. As far as I know, the equipment stat has no impact on the race.
Every one of my experiences points very strongly to the opposite.
same Startlists, same stages, same difficulty levels, same wind, same form
I've done that like ten different times since the game was out. Same result every time. Very large difference in performance.
My experience is pretty similar to Lachi here. I did the Alpe D'Huez test he suggested at the time and there didn't seem to be much difference to me. In fact, from what I remember the results were pretty disturbing in a far wider sense.

The AI takes no notice of the stats either - according to Cyanide the AI is also programmed to choose a frame at random from the equipment manufacturer.
Though of course, if anyone wants to go thru and give them stats, they are very welcome.
You're talking about simulating stages. I'm talking about playing them.
This does not in anyway mean I want the stats to be different.

Hi everybody.
Really nice job you pulled off once again! Thanks!
But... i'm having trouble trying to sign free agents until 10th January.
I try to contact them and a window appears saying that contact with riders isn't possible until June!!!
But its a free agent, not a rider with contract! i've double checked on that. And tryied to contact several free agents and it was allways the same story...
Can anyone help me?
Thanks again
When you download something, it's recommended that you read the instructions before using it. Otherwise you end up doing what you just did.
Please read instructions. They're there for a reason
Instructions?!?!?
I've downloaded the self-instaler and haven't seen no instructions whatsoever regarding the free agents.
And i apollogised for posting before reading the FAQ.

TDU works great for me, but finish time bonifications suck. There is 6 sec for few stages, 2 stages have 0 sec and final one 20 second for winner. Have can i change it? I am playing for Katusha and before Giro no serious problem so far. thx

It seems to me that alot of the bugs and errors people are experiencing might be connected to specific teams. I've started new games with several different teams and Pinarello RT is the first with several bugs for me. I get double invites to PT races and i get the bankrupt warning.
Some of the new races doesnt really score alot of sponsor happiness either. Now if this is a result of the race not having the correct stat, or the team has exagerated expectations i dont know. I first noticed it with Team Live Strong in Vuelta al Tachira. Won 2 stages and a 2-3 and neither even gave the slightest hint of approval from the sponsor. (I'm talking about the +'s on the Goals screen).
It also seems really hard to get accepted into fairly low lvl races as a low cont. team. I get refused alot by 1.1, 1.2 etc. Maybe the team stats needs a bit of fine tuning?
A very minor one as well; Team Saxo Bank seem to be using the wrong helmet in TT events. (Ugly blue one, didnt match the kit at all, same as fuji actually).
To end on a positive note; Love the DB, excellent work and im confident that a few little tweaks and fixes will make this the best DB there is

Giro d'Italia: only 1 stage (to Blockhaus, the shortest BTW) is correct. The rest of the stages has way too high and too long climbs. I'm really disappointed in this fact, I expected more from PCM Daily...

It's not your fault... When they set the date from year 2008 to 2009 in the db you couldn't sign any free riders anymore... |

Why should he have any? He's 37 and he's declined a lot since he was a top rider many years ago...

but there are a lot of old riders that have potential. one or two stars and they never progress. That should happen with Knaven too

How can they be too long? For the climbs I've used the correct lengths, however I know that there are many stages that have some mistakes on the profile. That will be fixed.

Well, a rider at 47 has potential. |
