Robbie didn't look too happy in the photo!

Just found out that Spanish tri-God Iván Raña crashed out with a broken clavicle in the first stage, his debut with Xacobeo. I was all prepared to make a million and one jokes about what horrible bike-handling skills triathletes have until I read further; doesn't sound like it was his fault, according to Álvaro Pino's remarks:

That's a great photo. He came to Katusha to finally get some confidence from his team -- and then Steegmans outsprints him |

It's just the timing of the photo. He stopped pedalling to make sure Steegmans would win, and he's starting to celebrate at that moment

I doubt McEwen was that annoyed. But if hadnt uncliped the victory for them both would have been sweeter. |

Gavazzi's on a roll in Langkawi and McEwen's got his win. Blot was third in the field sprint in Mallorca

Typical Valverde. Realises he doesn't do well at the Tour because he gets there too tired.
Every year he says that and says that "next year" he won't race so much or push hard that early because he doesn't want that to ruin his Tour performances as it always does.
Then every year the first meaningless races come around and he's killing himself to win them.
If I was his team manager I'd punch him in the face. pathetic.

Who knows -- maybe it's the team managers who force him to ride that many races? |

In other news, UCI has decided to postpone the Tour of Sochi (as a PT-race) until next season. |

GB are proved they are on track for the track.. Winning a few events in Day 1 of the Copenhagen Track world cup. Looks like as usual our Endurance is lacking a bit because a few riders have already started turning to the road. |

Ed Clancy was disappointing in the Individual Pursuit to not even make the final 4. Phinney was pretty impressive though, with a very fast time. |

Langkawi continues to be insane. After "mr endurance" Samai Samai won the longest stage, the "best rider in the ProTour" Yohan Géne wins another one.
Wow.
Elsewhere, Hutarovich opens up his account of the season with a stage at the Tour du med. Gutierrez wins the overall for....what? third? year in a row...

1. The race isnt finished yet. Stage 6 to Mont Faron is at some point today.
2. Gutierrez goes into the final stage 4 minutes down. LL Sanchez leads ahead of Erviti, Veikkanen and Martin
3. Gutierrez has only won the race once before

And that, boys and girls, is why you should not wake up at noon if you only went to bed at 8am. It makes you believe unreliable sources that you would never listen to usually.
And off to bed again now.

He won the Prova de Abertura. Which is some sort of portugese semi-pro type opening race (comparable to Ster van Zwolle, Down under Criterium, etcetera)
It's a 200km loop with a few short climbs, nothing major. Sprint finish every year.
The sprinters present kinda suck. Manuel Cardoso being the best. So this still doesn't give us much of an indication of how good Bos can be on the road.

Yeah, it's an excellent result by a guy who's riding his first year as a road cyclist. |
