Rheden GP (PTHC) Final cobbled race of the season, final chance for Zepuntke to shine. The field looked a bit like what we would expect the PCT field to look like next season, so a top-5 would have given us some hope for good results in 2023. Zepuntke did well and even sprinted for the win, but had to be content with third in the end. A podium spot is definitely positive.

Grand Prix Cycliste (PTHC) Penultimate race of the season, as our team went to the PTHC classic Grand Prix Cycliste. There was a strong puncheur field present, and as always we weren't able to really give Kelderman the best supporting team.
Nevertheless, our guys really controlled the race quite well, and a good move by our Dutch leader saw the strongest 15-ish puncheurs get a gap over the rest of the field. Kelderman was then able to create a gap with some of the other top favourites. They were caught just before the finish line, and Wilco sprinted to a ninth place in the large group of favourites. A nice race from our boys, with Wilco showing he is ready for PCT next season.

Seems like many new sponsors and jerseys are being welcomed into the MG peloton, so it's about time we also presented our 2023 sponsors.
Our main sponsors will be Los Pollos Hermanos (Mexico) and Galapagos (Belgium/Netherlands), whereas our clothing sponsor will be Kirschner (Brazil).
So basically nothing will change, and we'll also make PCT a more colourful place with the same jersey we used this season.
Los Pollos Hermanos will be sponsoring us for the fourth season in a row, and as far as we know they are here to stay. It will already be season three for Galapagos as well, but rumours have it they might end their sponsoring after the 2023 season.

Not sure if I can in good conscience endorse the jersey sticking around, but love the sponsors staying on and looking forward to finally racing against you guys next year!

My eyes will continue to hurt in 2023 too it seems
Great news about the sponsors staying and also a couple of good results in recent races. I guess it's good momentum for next season.

What was already known, is now confirmed. Los Pollos will be back in PCT after an interesting first PT campaign following two promotions. In general, the leaders did okay, but might have been out of form just a bit too much. Having no real depth definitely wasn't ideal. More in-detail look at the riders will follow later. I can't approve of that. Nothing to say about colourful jerseys even if the combination might be brave. I like it and look forward to compete against you in the lower tier races next season, although I don't approve of your relegation of course

Thanks for keeping an eye on Stojnic for me, looks like he had fun in PT. He'll come back being one of our more experienced PT riders

Shame about the relegation after a fantastic start to life in the PT. You look to be in a very good place to rebuild and jump right back to the top tier though. Looking forward to seeing how you go

I'd definitely have preferred to see you stay up - so I wouldn't see those jerseys too much next year
More seriously, it's definitely never nice to relegate, but I guess you were fully aware of this risk heading into the 2022 season. You had so many young riders that you had to plan really well to level them up, so there wasn't that much room for leaders.
However, you did have some pretty good leaders - and had they all delivered a bit more, you might even have had a chance of staying up. Especially your TTers had a pretty disappointing year, apart from Praha of course. Keizer also was somewhat "bugged" in the mountains, beaing beaten by worse climbers more often than not. Sütterlin was quite a letdown as well, whereas Zmorka got a pretty acceptable score in the end.
And then there obviously was Manninen, the beast! 16th place is a great result for him, and if he delivers once more next year - which I don't seriously doubt of - you should have great chances of making it three promotions in four years!
Even more so given that your development project should yield some fruit starting from next year. Will be interesting to see how you handle the budget cuts - but you've already shown in 2021 that you know how to get a competitive PCT team
Looking forward to racing in the same division as you again, although I was secretly hoping for some updated jersey

A lot of haters of the jersey, but glad to read kandesbunzler and Eden have great taste
Also, red, I loved having Stojnic with us. Nobody had more races for us, and he had some fun breakaway appearances. I hope he does well for you too next season in his second PT season
A possibility is indeed to fight back for promotion immediately, and normally with the riders I have right now I should have a very good shot at it. Just not sure if I'll actually go for that, or if I sell some leaders like Manninen and/or Zmorka in order to go even more regional. We'll see

Hello hello. For the first time ever we have talents maxing out that we got at level 1, all of them in our first season. Apart from those, we definitely have some other talents we're proud of showing you. Nothing spectacular, but in general (mostly) some decent regional riders. Stagiaires Örken and Itsude will also level up, but are not included in this post because they'll be let go anyway. Using knockout's code really made this a quick and easy job. Writing the post I mean, not firing the stags.
Nat. | Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | Pot | | Jose Gerardo Ulloa | 71 | 66 | 70 | 63 | 71 | 71 | 70 | 75 | 67 | 68 | 68 | 64 | 64 | 26 | 4 | | Jose Gerardo Ulloa | 72 | 66 | 70 | 63 | 73 | 72 | 71 | 77 | 68 | 68 | 68 | 64 | 64 | 27 | 4 |
Yes, I love him. Should be Zepuntke's main cobbled domestique next season, if the German stays. If not, it could very well be that Ulloa will have a lot of freedom and we could expect a lot of mid-race attacks from him.
Nat. | Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | Pot | | Beka Nareklishvili | 68 | 61 | 65 | 71 | 69 | 70 | 69 | 72 | 64 | 70 | 67 | 61 | 72 | 26 | 5 | | Beka Nareklishvili | 70 | 61 | 66 | 73 | 71 | 72 | 70 | 75 | 64 | 71 | 68 | 62 | 74 | 27 | 5 |
Staying on the cobbles here. Not regional, but I think he was a nice buy for only a 50k fee. Will max out in the season after at 75 TT and 77 cobbles.
Nat. | Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | Pot | | Luis Enrique Lopez Nolasco | 64 | 75 | 68 | 69 | 69 | 68 | 71 | 52 | 59 | 69 | 73 | 68 | 67 | 25 | 4 | | Luis Enrique Lopez Nolasco | 65 | 77 | 70 | 71 | 71 | 70 | 73 | 52 | 59 | 70 | 74 | 68 | 69 | 26 | 4 |
By now it seems like I have some kind of fetish of maxing out talents at an older age. One year to go for Lopez Nolasco as well, who should be a decent 79 mountain stage racer. And no, DarkWolf, if you're reading this, I will not sell him to you. Or maybe I will.
Nat. | Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | Pot | | Alejandro Osorio | 68 | 75 | 71 | 70 | 71 | 70 | 72 | 55 | 56 | 67 | 62 | 64 | 66 | 24 | 6 | | Alejandro Osorio | 69 | 77 | 72 | 72 | 73 | 72 | 74 | 55 | 56 | 68 | 62 | 64 | 68 | 25 | 6 |
My boy Osorio. Almost always being used as a domestique so far, and that's exactly what he should be for us for the rest of his career. Second guy in the list we got in our first year and maxed ourself without any loaning out.
Nat. | Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | Pot | | Robinson Steven Ruiz | 77 | 67 | 67 | 63 | 72 | 70 | 67 | 65 | 72 | 74 | 65 | 70 | 65 | 24 | 4 | | Robinson Steven Ruiz | 79 | 68 | 68 | 64 | 73 | 71 | 68 | 66 | 73 | 75 | 67 | 71 | 66 | 25 | 4 |
Coming from Peru, it was never easy to follow in Quispe's footsteps. Nevertheless, with 79 flat and quite a versatile skillset, Ruiz should be a fun rider. He's brought Manninen great lead-outs in both PCT and PT, and we hope he can continue to do so with any sprinter we have in the coming years. Maybe he'll even have some chances to race for his personal glory in C2.
Nat. | Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | Pot | | Matthew Walls | 70 | 61 | 60 | 60 | 70 | 68 | 68 | 61 | 75 | 74 | 60 | 63 | 69 | 24 | 5 | | Matthew Walls | 72 | 61 | 61 | 61 | 71 | 70 | 72 | 61 | 78 | 76 | 60 | 64 | 71 | 25 | 5 |
Wait, why did we sign a British level 3 sprinting talent? Doesn't matter, Walls could be a nice secondary sprinter next season, and definitely the season after when he maxes at 80/78 spr/acc.
Nat. | Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | Pot | | Guillermo Andres Beltran | 67 | 71 | 71 | 63 | 68 | 70 | 67 | 53 | 62 | 65 | 65 | 68 | 61 | 23 | 5 | | Guillermo Andres Beltran | 68 | 74 | 74 | 64 | 69 | 71 | 69 | 53 | 62 | 67 | 68 | 69 | 62 | 24 | 5 |
When one Beltran declines, the other rises. One more season to max at 76/76 climbing and hill and become a cheeky domestique for us.
Nat. | Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | Pot | | Daan Hoole | 67 | 68 | 66 | 68 | 68 | 72 | 66 | 68 | 68 | 68 | 69 | 69 | 65 | 23 | 5 | | Daan Hoole | 69 | 68 | 66 | 70 | 70 | 73 | 67 | 70 | 68 | 68 | 69 | 69 | 67 | 24 | 5 |
Basically Van Der Poel but way better. Hoole doesn't care that some people are very good at one thing, as he is good at everything. Also is very tall, so perfect to chill behind as a leader. Two more seasons until he is maxed out.
Nat. | Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | Pot | | Yesid Albeiro Pira | 62 | 72 | 66 | 62 | 64 | 65 | 68 | 60 | 60 | 64 | 63 | 60 | 61 | 23 | 4 | | Yesid Albeiro Pira | 62 | 76 | 68 | 62 | 64 | 67 | 70 | 60 | 60 | 67 | 66 | 61 | 61 | 24 | 4 |
Hide your wives, hide your kids, cause this bad boy is going to town. Hide your cobbles and flat roads as well preferably. Only level three, and Pira's already 76 mountain. Future superstar and you know it.
Nat. | Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | Pot | | Victor Alejandro Ocampo | 67 | 58 | 63 | 72 | 70 | 68 | 71 | 54 | 58 | 63 | 56 | 65 | 72 | 23 | 7 | | Victor Alejandro Ocampo | 69 | 59 | 64 | 76 | 72 | 71 | 73 | 54 | 58 | 63 | 58 | 66 | 76 | 24 | 7 |
Raced for Indosat this year and has been dubbed "the sole reason we stayed in PCT" by Eden. After two years of not racing for us, next year he will... also not race for us. Solid 78 tt'ist when he finally comes home in the 2024 season.
Nat. | Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | Pot | | Oscar Samuel Galvan Ramirez | 71 | 69 | 67 | 68 | 67 | 69 | 67 | 50 | 64 | 66 | 69 | 69 | 69 | 22 | 4 | | Oscar Samuel Galvan Ramirez | 71 | 72 | 69 | 71 | 69 | 71 | 70 | 50 | 64 | 66 | 69 | 69 | 72 | 23 | 4 |
Oscar Samuel had a great first pro season at our friends from Philips, and will come home next season already. He'll turn out to be a very nice regional stage race domestique with 76 mtn 75 tt.
Nat. | Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | Pot | | Jose Pablo Aguilar Mendez | 68 | 54 | 55 | 69 | 66 | 66 | 65 | 51 | 62 | 68 | 63 | 65 | 69 | 22 | 5 | | Jose Pablo Aguilar Mendez | 71 | 54 | 55 | 73 | 68 | 69 | 68 | 51 | 64 | 69 | 63 | 65 | 73 | 23 | 5 |
Jose Pablo, on the other hand, will be a pure flat time trialist maxing at 78 tt. He had a fun first season as well, being part of an amazing promotion team at Colombini.

It's that time of the year again, national championships! The first races have been reported, and we already have some medals to show off.
Honduras - RR and TT gold One guy who didn't have to do much to be crowned double champion was Luis Enrique Lopez Nolasco. Just like last year he is the only professional cyclist from Honduras, which means he'll continue to wear the Honduras blue-white jersey next year.
A very nice race from Beka Nareklishvili saw the Georgian finish inches from gold. He just came short in the sprint after conquering the cobbles in his home country, as he won the silver medal.
Our next medal also came from another recent transfer, as Jasha Sütterlin was simply the strongest time trialist of the day in Germany. Gold, baby!
And so far it seems time trials were our strongest domain, as Luca Sterbini did really well and finished second in the Italian time trial, only to be beaten by superstar Cattaneo.

Like redordead already covered it's a very cool regional core you are building, hope most of them survive the coming downsizing while still being competitive.

Loving the regional core, which you sacrificed staying in PT for. I think this is a great way to build your team, as once you're back in PT in 24 you have a very cool and strong team core that is PT ready.

@red: Think I do have some fun regional tt'ists coming up indeed. Won't be world beaters for sure, but they should be able to help their future leader in TTT's quite nicely
@jandal: Plan is to have all of the youngsters come down with us, and having to sell/fire none of them. The future is ours!
@Croatia: Well if I immediately get back into PT I agree that my depth should be way better than this season, mostly thanks to these guys being maxed (or close) by then. Hopefully next time it is indeed enough to stay up.
Abhi: The love is mutual. Oscar Samuel Galvan Ramirez wants to thank you once more for an amazing season at Philips, as he calls it the most fun season he's ever had as a pro rider <3
