The first two intermediate checks are irrelevant. Only the third one is after the climb....when it matters.

Tuft is one hell of a weird guy. He did very well at the Olympics too. |

How does that make him weird? I thought it made him good, i suppose he is weird in the fact that he only does good in really top events like this.

He does well in other races too. He won the Vuelta a Cuba mostly due to a wonderful TT for instance.
15:28 CEST
It turns out that Tuft had a defect in the last few kms and had to change bikes. Did that cost him the gold medal?
whoopsie...

Yes, but winning Vuelta a Cuba doesn't exactly make you a gold medallist. Why isn't he signed by better teams? |

He went travelling around the world on foot as an adventurer. Then at 27 or so he decided to turn pro.
He's like 32 or 33 so there's not much point in paying Symmetrics to release him.
Now that Symmetrics is over, we'll see who offers him a contract. Probably Garmin.

Always been one of my votes for most underrated. The others were Vande Velde and someone else I can't remember. Damn now I'll be racking my brains until I remember.
