Lillestrom GP

Nothing to repost from this race, besides the fact that we screwed up, last rider dropping out of the fun 25km before finish, disappointing to say the least.

Costa Rican Mountain Classic

Somewhat surprising 14 riders closed the race together, Cataldo was never able to challenge this group, but came 2nd in the next, a fine race for him.

Just on a side note, like to mention that i’we got some personal hardship, this is why i suddently post a lot less here and elsewhere, not at all that I have lost interest.

Congrats to the cheeky wheelsucker Dario Cataldo for taking advantage of Bennett's attack to win a stage and crash to get a good GC... Pfft

Seriously though, nice to see him with a good result for you guys - still in that 4-11th promotion fight. The way you guys are riding, anything is possible!
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Tour of Bulgaria

Stage 1

Estifanos Kebede and Dario Cataldo comming in as 9th and 12th in the large 2nd group losing just 8” to the race leader. Ok result, but worring that Dario Cataldo was last in the group not looking good near the end.

Stage 3

Dario Cataldo came in with the 3rd group as 11th, losing 36” falling to 9th in GC, a disappointment, seems not to have his climber legs in this race.
As we have seen so often in the season Estifanos Kebede takes a day off, losing 7’16 and any GC hopes we may have had.

Tour of Bulgaria

Stage 4
The only flat stage and therefore no sprint setup on most of the teams, it went to a breakaway. Sadly none of our riders participated.

Stage 5
Final stage back in the mountains, we get Asela Sisira in the breakaway and they make it Asela Sisira 2nd behind Philips – Continental’s Romain Bardet. Very pleased with that.
Dario Cataldo came in with the 2nd large group as 18th, again a pretty passive effort from him.

Even though it was a hard race for Dario Cataldo stage by stage, he actually ended of as a fine GC 7th due to a more consistent performance that some of his close rivals.

As always in U23 races we are only here for the fun, as it is not likely we can compete against the best riders from the higher divisions.

Even if we had some photos we cannot show our riders in jerseys not representing our sponsors

Benelux Challenge

Stage 4 – Undulated with cobles - a stage where a lot could happen. Simone Petilli made it into the breakaway, think it was his first solo effort for the team. But he is no cobbler and could not make it in the group to the end.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2017/Races/C2HC/Benelux/42.jpg

Quite surprised that Eduardo Colon did not make it, he should be well equipped for this terrain might have been an unreported crash or puncture.

Was expecting a little more than 10th, but Andrii Bratashcuk taking the white jersey was a nice extra. Asela Sisira stepped up to be our 2nd best

Federico Rocchetti had an almost unbelivable bad race, was no report that he was down but could very well be him on this picture considering his performance in the race.

After Grands Prix Cyclistes – Katsuta-san have invited Dario Cataldo and most of the staff to Japan as a mixed vacation, preparation for the Japan Tour and visit to Asahi Beer Headquarters, close to the famous Asakusa Shrine in Tōkyō.

As a result of this the Head Quater will be under staffed for 3 weeks and we can’t expect any updates fra Paris - Tours or Tour of Britain until after this period.

knockout
A beer vacation so close to renewals? Sounds like a good negotiation strategy to convince the riders to sign cheaper contracts Pfft
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!
