PCM Career Explorer (V17 Released)
TiemenD
Ok, I'll have a look at it right now, I'm fixing another loading error that i've just discover. I get back to you as soon as possible.

TiemenD
It should be fixed, there was a a link to a teamid that didn't exist in the cyclist table, but I've updated the tool so it does not crash on it. In the meanwhile I've fixed another loading error (when the game somethimes doesn't simulate a stage it registers wrong data in the palmares table and that could also crash the tool)

Forgot to tell you: the tool will update automatically when you open it, but I've updated the download link as well Smile

Version 14.0.0.3

Updated the loading code, loading of savegames should be significantly faster than with version 14

Wow, this tool is just getting better and better. I watched the Award Show for the first time, it was pretty exciting. Thanks a lot, Tiemen!

However, I noticed one thing (PCM 14): The AVG ratings in the team overview seem wrong. Fore example, I have a team with AVG ratings for my riders between 72.4 and 80.6 and yet the AVG column shows me 71.2. While the average ratings for each domain seem fine. It might be due to the AVG ratings in the roster screen also being a bit odd, with ratings either having 2 or 17 digits?

Do you have a screenshot and/or a savegame?

Ripley
Here's a save game of a new game I just started to test this. All the AVG ratings look too low. Team Sky 68.8? Actually, a really large number starting with 688.

Would you be able to attach a screenshot to, When I load up the save the average is 73.81

Ripley
Hmm, odd. Here is a screenshot. Same thing when I look at rosters, in the AVG column are really big numbers (but not ending in .00). But the other columns look fine.

If you look at a teams roster then sort it by average you'll notice those riders that end with just 2 digits are clearly those that would be .00

Basically what has happened is that your average doesn't show the decimal point so a 76.68 or anything that doesn't end .00 is shown as 7668 instead which obviously is a much larger number for when calculating the teams average and at one point in one of my saves, but not something I thought to screenshot meant that due to the amount of BMC riders on a .00 number that results in a 2 digit average and messes up the teams average function it actually showed their own dev team as having a slightly higher average.

TiemenD
Aha, The issue was that the "average" field was the only column where I didn't replace the decimal seperator with the system default's decimal seperator when reading the value. I've updated it and it will be included in the next release (I can't release it now since I've done some large changes that I need to finish to get a stable build)

Great, thank you! Can't wait what else you come up with.

I have found another little problem with the legends list and champion's year, though my guess is that it's the game's fault. I used PCMCE with my "world domination 2026" save game which you can find here:

https://pcmdaily.c...st_1134707

When I sort the legends list by TDF the sum is 7. Also, the list of World Champions only goes back to 2018. I guess that retired riders are deleted from the db/save game and that's the problem.

TiemenD
Yeah, that's the issue, the game does not retain retired riders.
In the future I will add an option that each time you load your save with the pcm career editor, it takes a snapshot, so it can fill in the blanks at a later stage when cyclists are deleted because they retired. However this is a very complex feature so it might take some time till I have a good, fast working solution for this.

Version 15

Added Media Content container for each race/year
Ever wanted to see that special screenshots you took for a certain race, wanted to find back that shot you took of the narrow sprint that took place last year on the champs elysees, or just wanted to organize your screenshots, documents and race reports:

A new screen is added for races. You can now drag & drop screenshots, excel-, word- or text-documents onto the PCM explorer to link them to a certain race & year. This way you can organize your screenshots,  reports or any other documents related to a race. You can easily go back to a race and see all documents or screenshots attached to it, filtered by year.

(this option is not linked to a certain savegame for the moment, because I'm  trying to find a way to identify what save you've loaded, and I don't want to base it on the filename. for now if you add content for "Giro - 2015" it will show it in all the saves you load and check "Giro-2015"Wink

Added new cyclist profile screen
There is a new cyclist overview screen that gives you more information then the cyclist popup screen and shows you alot of information about the cyclist on one single page.

Added new Race Overview screen
A new screen where you have all the general information about a race in one single view, together with the results of the current year and the results of previous years. and the current record holder of that race.

Added search in top navigation bar
You can now search for any race, team or cyclist from the top navigation bar by just typing the name. hitting enter will bring you to the detail page of the race/team/cyclist.
The textbox also presents you "suggestions" while you are typing.

Updated Cyclist Navigation
When you're in a cyclist detail screen, you can now easily navigate between the different cyclist detail screens of that same cyclist (palmares, history, profile, planning).

Updated Race Navigation
When you're in the detail screen of a race you can now easily navigate between the different race detail screens of the same race (Overview, Results, History, Summary, Planned cyclists, Cyclists with that race as objective)

Updated dropdownlists with suggestions
The cyclist and race dropdownboxes have been tuned so they now give you suggestions while you are typing, so you can easily navigate to other cyclists/races.

Added nationality in U23 screen
In the grid with all U23 cyclists there is a new column added so you can now see the cyclist's country.

Fixed bug with averages
Fixed bug with average and team average calculations on systems with "." as default decimal seperator.

Added resistance and baroudeur
the resistance and baroudeur (Attack) stat are now visible in the new cyclist profile screen. In the cyclist popup screen the baroudeur stat is also added

Wow, this tools is better than the game already.

Regarding your issue to link media to a certain career: You could create a dummy entry in one of the tables, for example a very bad rider and giving him a generic name like Last name = Dummy / Prename = Date this save has been opened the first time. So whenever a save has been opened, you check for this dummy rider. If it is there, you can identify the save. If it is not there, you add it for later use. I hope this was clear enough.

TiemenD
Thanks Lachi, that's indeed a good idea. I was thinking about using one of the unused records in GAM_USER, but I should check if it doesn't break anything loading the savegame in PCM.

Lachi
You can use any table but I would not re-use an existing record. So why not use a table where an additional record definitively is no problem. If you fill in the rider correctly but giving him weak stats he will not take an active role in the game.

Ripley
I can confirm that the AVG column now works on my system. Thank you! Also great new features and generally an awesome tool. If you like, you could add even more tables - like the top 10 or 20 or 100 sprinters, stage racers or most popular riders, for example.
