Was this the Tour where Lance flushed Landis extra blood down the toilet, because he'd revealed he was leaving for Phonak? (according to Walsh) |

I have a very hard time believing anything Walsh writes. Because I have a very hard time believing anyone with an Agenda. Which is why I don't believe the likes of Landis.

...but the thing about the toilet flushing was a part of that same IM conversation. Betsy Andreu just took that part out when she first brought it forward, during that case in Texas with the insurance company trying to avoid paying the TdF prize money. She later revealed it to Walsh, and he wrote about it in one of his books?
All Walsh do is quoting people? Betsy Andreu, Greg Lemond, O'Reilly, DiCanio etc etc?

That IM extract is from August 2005, I reckon. |

Nobody seemed to want to touch Davis with a ten foot pole, even

Fercase is not paying the wages of Eladio Jimenez and Francisco Mancebo... A secret sponsor is... And remember that they were the worst portuguese team last year...
I'm not saying that he would go to Fercase but maybe Benfica could find some kind of sponsor who would only pay Davis' wages... I don't think that would be that difficult to arrange with João Lagos leading the team...

Ok Astana is now out of the tour...Let levi cry corporation seems to winning this competition:
Astana man sayed:
"We changed the team structure, we've done everything we could. The Tour de France is going to lose its value. Maybe Cadel Evans will win it this year but people are going to say 'yes he won but Levi Leipheimer was not there, Andreas Kloeden and Alberto Contador were not there."
I am saying ..after ten year's I see that 2008 tour winner is Cadel Evans..has no cycling freak I even cant remember that Astana ban. Winner of TdF is always winner of TdF and not some if syndrome.
If world: Contador wouldnt be 2007 winner If Rasmussen would end that tour.
Perreiro isnt tour winner..If Landis wouldnt take to much dope..If Ulrich and Basso wasnt banned before start..etc..etc. This not making any point.

I share your point of view, and I'll respect an almost human winner more than a super hero winner. One has more credibility than the other one, despite being possibly weaker.
Can anyone really believe that Bruyneel is a saint ? Saying "we changed the team structure" is true, but that falls short as an argument, as it was more or less changing bad for worst. |

It's a bit like the politicians who keep saying "I want what's best for this country." After which everyone goes "yay! this guy's great" when he actually didn't say anything at all.

I agree with most of this... except the part about Perriero. I think most people won't remember him as the tour winner. They'll remember Landis winning and getting stripped... but they'll have a lot of trouble coming up with Perreiro's name. Kind of unfair to the guy, but it is what it is. Not crossing the line in Paris wearing yellow takes a lot away. |

The first investigation of the Freiburg hospital has given a few hints of the riders implicated. Packages of doping have been delivered to what was then Klöden's friend and who's now Klöden's wife. Yet he denies to say anything about the case. Also riders such as Ullrich, Sinkewitz, etc. are involved. Two names are yet to be revealed. |
