Tony Martin was unbelievable today.... 170kms basically alone mostly doing all the work and still nobody can get near him. Even when they all started riding full power. How is this possible?

Everyone seems to forget Machado whom jumped to 3rd GC. That is very impressive, especially as he have König as a monster helper in the next stage, to see what he can achieve.
Not sure they will let König help Machado, as König should be much better climber without that unlucky time loses, but we will see. I think that leo will hunt stage wins now...
IIRC They represent their new sponsor tomorrow on the rest day, so I think that they will try to keep Machado in Top 3, 5 or so, which is huge for them. Don't think they will succeed in that, but we'll see. Afterwards, König is probably gunning for stage wins.

Gallopin is not a climber and really can't be compared with Periero, sure he is a punchy rider but will easily lose 30 + minutes in every real mountain stage
Are you kidding? 30+ minutes pr. mountainstage?
He was recently 27th in the Dauphine, losing 24 minutes on Talansky. There he was a helper for van den Broeck.
He lost 1 minute on the first mountainstage that was won by Froome, he lost 4½ minute on the second mountainstage (3 minutes on the favorites). Had he not lost 12 minutes on the final stage, where he sat up, he would have been around 20th GC, with several riders similar to what is present at the Tour.
Also he was 10th at the Paris-Nice, which was not quite as mountainous, but still more than just "punchy".
Gallopin clearly won't be a threat to the GC, but giving him the yellow jersey could mean that he will stay somewhere aroung top 15 imo.
Yes I am serious. Paris-Nice was not more than a punchy race, look at the route and you will see no mountains whatsoever, Rojas finished 4th overall, Vichot in 3rd. The Dauphine is not raced the same as a GT and yes he did well but still lost 12 minutes on the last stage and 24 in total and it is a 1 week race. He is a talented rider but yellow or not he will lose a huge amount of time and won't finish top 20, he will try and defend the jersey and by the time the real mountains come he will be running on empty.
Which stages do you consider real mountainstages? Just so I can throw it back at you once they are ridden
Save the page and feel free to throw it back at me
Oh and what ever stages prove me right will do
So tomorrow when he loses 4 minutes will be alright?
Oh, you wouldn't think I had forgotten would you?
I know I said 4 minutes, and in the end it was 4:46, but I assume that is close enough
