Ah never mind, the overhead shot shows it was Valverde's white jersey put me off for some reason. The angle the the camera shot I either combined the top of Valverde with the bottom of Cunego or Valverde looked a bit like OGE from the front due to the slant of his chest.

Yeah... totally. He destroyed them just like Vandenbergh destroyed Cancellara and Van Avermaet at Ronde.
That attack from Valverde had some nice punch, he's definitely ready for the classics.
That was poor performance by him. He was beaten by Valverde, who is worst sprinter than Kwiatkowski and was on the attack for 8 previous kms.
Huh? Valverde is a fast finisher and is basically known for it throughout his career. He may lack the top speed of his younger years, but he's still one of the best riders for such a route and finish (when he has the legs and the will to win).

Sky marginal gains seems to be working fine agian if Swift was able to keep it up With Contador, Valverde and Co, Froome is going to destroy everyone agian at TDF

To be fair it was a small hill with 5.5% gradient, all credits to Swift. Someone like Sagan has shown he can also get up such climbs. Remember Tirreno last year with insane 30% hill climb and Sagan getting over it.
Already Contador is going superfast uphill. If Froome goes up any faster it will be a motorbike. Dont worry we will have a good fight in TdF this year like 2010/2011. We will see Froome v/s Contador v/s Valverde. Only problem is Nibali will not be up there so far he has lacked form so far. Would have loved to see him also in that battle.
The problem is if it was such a piece of cake how is it possible than good climbers and punchers wasnt able to stay in that group. Swift is a sprinter as far as I remeber while riders like Pieter Weening ,Pierre Rolland, Warren Barguil, Luis Leon Sanchez or Philippe Gilbert wasnt capable to stay at that group at the end. U cant tell me that stage was raced on easy mode. The fact Swift been there the only sprinter in the group is at least 4 me a big surprise.
Swift is on his peak now imo. Having really good campaign so far. And reason why the names you mentioned didn't hang up? Probably because they didnt care much or aren't just building up their fitness level. I was much more surprised, that Kreuziger wasn't there in last two stages.
