Yeah, but that's the image you send to the world... I know that not every one is this stupid but every time I turn on the TV I hear an american idiot saying something that's just plain ignorance... And usually someone enters my bedroom right about then and asks me what am I watching and I say: "It's just George W. adressing the nation."

they will lose there Pro Tour licence, and so lose there sponsors so even more teams will dissapear... complete disaster for the cycling world. Lose the sponsor because they participate in the Tour de France ? Could you write that again please ?
The Pro Tour worked because it gave the opportunity to sponsors to be shown on TV during the TDF (biggest event and largest broadcasting of the year), participating to the TDF is above being a Pro Tour member, especially if you could still participate in other ASO/RCS/Unipublic event. |

It's not all Americans it's just some. True. I'm sure you could find stupid people in every single country in this world. Interview as many of them as you can, just keep the most stupid ones, and broadcast them like that, to show how stupid people from X or Y country are. |

I admit I think some Americans are really idiots. And when it comes to politics that's a whole other discussion.

This is ridiculous...I dont know now wich doing more damage for cycling..ASO vc. UCI fight ..or doping.
Correct me if I am wrong..
UCI protour effect has been great for cycling...
ASO like to destroy that system (they doing great so far)..they both want to take power position...
ASO sacrifyses what has been good for cycling...hei why not we own TdF (cycling microsoft...) Pro Tour has been great for cycling, it showed us funny things we thought we'd only see in Cycling Manager. Euskaltel rode cobbles races, Bouygues have wasted their time in both the Giro and the Vuelta, we got a wonderful Pro Tour classification that has never interested anyone but its winner (sorry Danilo and Cadel...).
ASO and such want to get rid of that stupid system because it's preventing them from forcing majorly doped riders teams to stay at home...
Doping is surely worst than ASO or UCI... but in the end it's up to riders to decide not to take the stuff. Punishments and frequent controls may have some effect, but take dope, win a race and get caught, harm is done... |

There are no words needed for that.
Theoretically stronger participation fields, but poorly motivated riders. That's what we got.
Cycling is not Formula 1 or NBA, it has its history of working with invitations, etc. It couldn't successfully be changed the way it was with the Pro Tour. |

Yeah but it attracted big sponsors to the sport...and big cheats too, I suppose. I don't understand why a scaled down Pro Tour wasn't tried, you know one where there were only 14 teams, which allowed the organisers to pick 6 wildcards. If any team in the PT were caught with dopers more than once, they could be kicked out and their registration cancelled. |

It's all about 2 groups of people who want absolute power - they don't want what is overall best for the sport, they just want power. And that's sad
If we had a winner, then things would change, because all they could do then is focus on making cycling better.
And expansion abroad must be, must be, utilised. Not every sport does it, but foir cycling, it needs it
