1) We don't know enough to be certain that new doping controls or, more technically maybe, that the kinetics of doping products (for how long they can be detected after being taken) are the cause of many abandons. There are many other plausible and legit reasons.
2) Assuming Contador is clean is naive, to put it gently.

Of course, and I agree that the theory is far fetched, but that's also why I said it didn't make sense because following the theory, Contador would have abandoned too (or that he would be clean, which is is absurd, hence the theory doesn't make sense).

I'm not trying to assume Contador is clean Pfft but the opposite! I was using it as an example of why the theory didn't hold up:

Situation: Doped riders are not starting/abandoning
->(Theory) Could it be that there is a new doping test out?
-->(Observation)Maybe, but Contador is still riding (and winning)

So testing the theory that there is something from preventing doped leaders from racing, either Contador:
-is winning clean
-->which is absurd
OR
-doesn't care/know about the supposed new doping test and will be caught in the future
-->which is possible but not likely
OR
-the theory of a new doping test is invalid.
-->which is quite likely

Some good news then: UCI needs to pay Iljo Keisse 100.000 for unjustly banning him from racing.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Alleged doping. The court ruled that it was a contaminated food supplement that caused the positive test.

I see, too bad for him. Was it a coincidence that those contamination we're used as masking for EPO?

Yeah, I read it twice and I'm still not sure what is going on.
"Altitude native", though Pfft

So Henao has been taken out of competition for at least 8 weeks to do some tests about high altitude stuff? Still don't get it Pfft

Very odd reading...

"We have discovered something unusual in Henao's tests. We don't understand it - must just be that he's colombian..."

Meanwhile in Scotland: 'Perfect' anti-doping test in sight.
A Australian/Greek scientist working in Glasgow is getting close to developing a test that will discover the changes made by doping rather than the substance itself making it extremely hard to cheat in the future.

Aye, sounds ominous indeed... From the little I have read the effects of altitude, whether it be training or having lived there your entire life, drop off very quickly - if memory serves your body adjusts to a lower altitude within a couple of weeks ("altitude native" or no Pfft).

Maybe that's a code for we're leaving him at altitude until the start of the giro so he's still effected by it during the race?

Keisse tested positive, courts ruled he was innocent.When he was ready to race again, the UCI went threatening race organisors they could not let him start.

Basically anomalies in a certain value (Sky conveniently doesn't say what) during an OOC-Control, why Sky claim their experts first noticed, after which they notified WADA/UCI themselves.

The Altitude Research Programme is just a way of saying 'There is something wrong with our rider's values and even though all experts still have to review the cause, it must be because he is living at altitude because we will never use the D-word'.

Big lol at Henao and Sky. I would bet if it was Wiggo or Froome it wouldn't even come out.

And:

I love this bit:

"En ese regreso le ha ayudado Steven de Jongh, exciclista y expreparador del Sky. Con él, Contador ha usado el mismo campo de entrenamiento que Wiggins y Froome, el interminable y alto Teide. De Jongh le ha abierto el método del Sky. La ciencia, los beneficios del entrenamiento en altitud. A eso, el madrileño le añade su sal, su carácter volcánico. Casa bien con el Teide."

Contador using Sky's methods? They started an war...
