I wouldn't get involved at all, it's much better if people take care of their own team. If 9 rounds of draft is too much, have the draft in 3 rounds of 3 riders or something. If you start with high riders, you have to make sure your last 3 are really low or you'll lose the good ones. This would make the game far more strategical and interesting.
I'll second that.
Putting together lists for all 8/9 drafts taking all eventualities into consideration is just a crazy task (just tried to figure out how to do), but it can certainly be done for three rounds at a time with out any mental breakdowns on my part.
Also just to clarify: Does the riders have to be "pair-wise" AVG 70 or just the team overall. Meaning if you sign Flecha with AVG 77 do you need to have a rider of max 63 or is it ok to have two riders at 66 bringing the AVG for the three of them to 69,7?
Also if we do it in three parts as Ollfard suggest and I support do the AVG has to be 70 for each individual round or just 70 after the last round?

Great that everyone has picked a jersey in quick time so far. Now only three jerseys need to be picked from:
---Cycleman123
---tmr96
-- The Hobbit
Atlantius - Yeah, still deciding the finer points.
The 'range' rule of 70 or below for AVG stands - Meaning in your team of 9 riders if your top rider has a 77 AVG you have to have a rider with a 63 AVG or below.
Two points:
1) Please could you expand on the idea of the three part draft?
2) Are you suggesting that in part 1 you can pick 3 riders with a max AVG of 85
--- in part 2 you can pick 3 riders with a max AVG of 75
--- in part 3 you can pick 3 rider with a max AVG of 70? |

As for the AVG I was just in doubt as to how it worked, not disagreeing
Just to be perfectly clear that means that signing a 77 rider and two 66 riders bringing the AVG below 70 is not within the rules?
Ad 1: As I have understood it you want us to send you 1 PM with drafting lists for all 8/9 riders?
That is extremely hard to get a good overview over. I understand you want it to be done fairly quickly which is why I propose first sending you a PM with three riders. Then you publish the results and we send you a new PM with three new lists (where previously drafted riders have been removed).
That is much easier for us as the 8th list in a big PM would have to include a lot of riders to make sure they haven't been drafted already.
Also it's hard to choose the "domestiques" when we don't know how strong captains we will get.
Ad 2: Not suggesting anything. Merely asking that if we run as described above will we need to sign the 63-rider in the same round as the 77 rider or can we wait to a later round. If they have to be picked in the same round it would probably be better to pick 4 riders at a time for it to fit better together. Perhaps by choosing both riders at the same time/on the same list.

Do we get first pick of riders from our team's nationality again? I'd love to mostly recover my old Brazilian team, with some other added South American riders |

With Spanish teams it gets harder, of course
Or just the first 3 rounds or something? Just an idea. I'm pretty sure nobody will bother about those Brazilian riders anyway, but I have my eyes set on Amador and maybe even a Colombian |

IIRC we didn't get the first pick of team's nationality. Having had Navardauskas and Bagdonas would have helped me a huge lot more. We did need to have at least 2 riders from the team's nationality.

Atlantius The range is between exactly 2 riders (the single highest and the single lowest).
Using the three round draft idea I think I might make it so:
Draft 1 ----- 3 riders(6 substitutes) MAX AVG =85
Draft 2 ----- 3 riders(6 substitutes) MAX AVG =75
Draft 3 ----- 3 riders (6 substitutes)MAX AVG =70 -Including a rider to meet range of 70 and below.
If people think this a good idea. |

Sounds like a fine idea with the limits.

Great.
Even though three guys still need a jersey I will set a starttime for picking a legend coach (see POST 4) now.
In order to pick a 'legend' coach just post the name once the start time is reached the same as the way most people picked their jersey.
The start time is 21:20 (GMT) Wednesday 6th November (tomorrow) for picking a legend coach.

Same here. I've got a very busy week at school, so enough rest is very important right at this very moment. From friday on, the problem should be more or less solved.

can't it be 21:15/30 ???
EDIT: Is it possible that you can already post the drafting order?
This would influence my choice of coach as it influences the riders I will propably get...

I have changed it to 21:20 (GMT) tomorrow.
Selwink/ Jesleyh - I know but Americans, Aussies and Europeans all have to be in consideration.
Knockout - The draft will be in the form of a Serpentine system now. I will post the order for the serpentine in the next few hours. |

I'm very curious for the draft order
And thanks for changing the time. It's still not early, but I can at least be there

I will start it as soon as this post is finished and likely post it before 19:00 which is in 25 minutes. Who will be the lucky fellow to get the first pick?
Yep it is now 21:20 GMT which translates to 22:20 in the Netherlands and Friesland (for Selwink) I think. |

I want first pick, I want first pick!
Wait, that doesn't help, does it?
And no need to please Selwink by calling Friesland a seperate nation, since it's not, it's just a region of the Netherlands, just like Limburg or Drenthe. (Take that, Selwink! )
