Hi
My name is Damian Owniak, originally from Gdansk in the northern part of Poland. I am 22 years old and my specialty is climbing. I started cycling from a young age, since my parents owned their own poor Cycling boutique.
I guess the first thing you want to know about, is how I got to be an proffesional cyclist. At an age of 15, I was out cycling and I came across a little football stadium, and saw there were some boys playing football, and I thought I would like to join them, if I could.
On my way down the gravel road I came across the club house and on the back of the clubhouse, there were an Mountain Bike Track and then out of nowhere came a old man.
Out of curiosity , I threw my bike to the side and went over to the man, and I asked if I could try the track, and he accepted my claim. So I took my bike and went up on the starting site, in a height of 3 meters. The man took his timer up of his pocket and said begin!
He was so impressed by my time, that he said I should come tomorrow night and participate in one of the weekly practice sessions. And from that moment I went out on the track almost every day for the next three years. On this amount of time I won the Regional Cup every year, with total dominance and in the 3rd year, I was discovered by a scout from the national team of Mountain Biking.
And as a part of training, we would practice road racing, and thats when I got a chance to prove myself over longer distances, I signed up for, well you can call it some sort of scholarship and I went up in both Mountain Biking and Road Racing. I was told that I out shined all in Mountain Biking, and was at average with the others in Road Racing.
So for one year I traveled the world as a professional Mountain Biker, and even though I was ahead of all the others at my age, I didn't feel pleased with the challenge. So I said that I wanted to try out Road Racing, and after some months I was contacted by CCC and got my first Sponsor.
I participated in their training camps, but one of their training camps inspired me, the training camp in the Alps of Switzerland. I fell in love with the place and i even brought a house their, so at an age of only 19, I had the mountains before me and I will never let go of them again.
First Season
So in my first season I will participate in Tour of Pologne as one of the GC contenders, and I have been promised a chance to ride my first Grand Tour in form of the Vuelta, and my goal is to go for a stage win, but also try to go for the KoM Jersey.
The first few days have been thrilling and I can't wait to prove my abilities to the whole world !

Best EPIC Manager - Shonak. Case closed.
I have some questions here. you say it like it's easy desision but I feel like Silvio did better. the gap between the two teams is Minimal (two points) and NetApp is a much better team then Champion System. just my two cents
I think that I'm awesome, too.
No, seriously: Thanks Luigi, but shonak is doing great and I support this choice.

After a very disappointing turnout for the second awards, these are likely to be the last ones awarded. But with five sets of eligible votes in (plus a vote for that famous EPIC rider, Simon Gerrans :roll, we have a winner, by a whole point. We don't however have a third place as we have a tie for second instead. So, who picked up the silver medals?
Spoiler
Willem Brouwer - Giro d'Italia
The young Dutchman narrowly missed out on the pink jersey during the TTT at the Giro d'Italia but made up for it on the very next day as a strong ride over the hills allowed him to take a fairly comfortable win ahead of Cavendish and Visconti. He therefore moved in to the Maglia Rosa in his very first Grand Tour. For one day.
Tied for second is...
Spoiler
Delfi Cervero - Liege-Bastogne-Liege
He did it! He actually did it!! Set an ultimatum of a top ten at La Doyenne by his frustrated manager, everybody was expecting another Delfi fail, given that he'd done nothing in the easier races in the week leading up to it. However, he had been messing around with his manager the whole time and casually rode to tenth place, making him already better than Cadel Evans and an instant cult hero. But we haven't seen anything of him since, which is upsetting for all.
And the winner is...
Spoiler
Adrien Hanzen - Giro d'Italia
Now, this is a strange award given that is was his team that got him the pink jersey but the winner is yet another TMM rider, Adrien Hanzen for becoming the first EPIC rider to take a GT leader's jersey. The TTT in Forio saw Sky beat Belkin by just enough for the young Brit to pip Brouwer to the Maglia Rosa. But as we saw earlier, he lost it the next day, so a weird decision. But, given that he scored 7 points, compared to the 19 that Hinault got in winning last time, the win was simply down to nobody caring enough.
Other nominees...
Po-Ding Kim - Name a race, he's everywhere
Christian Schroder - Tour of Norway
Rajesh Kakhi - Tours of Belgium and Dunkerque
Jorge Cristobal Riquelme - Tour of Norway
Silvio Pennarossa - For his huge win in the San Marinese NC
Ylvo Chelyakov - His "mysterious disappearance"
Congratulations once again to The Manx Missile as both his riders have now won an award while the other rests in peace. However, the limited number of votes means this is certainly not as well deserved and the lack of votes for actual good performances by a whole list of people is frustrating so this will be the final awards unless interest in this game as a whole is re-sparked. The fact that a dead guy with no results at all got more points than Verboven, Pal, De La Montagne, De Las Campos, Lewis, Birtles, De Vries, Ghita or even freaking Maxime Oget really is not the idea of these awards but hey.

Too bad, a few on vacation as well (Selwink, Jesleyh, Kubys, ...) so maybe it was just a bad timing. I'd love to see this continue in the future!

The biggest race on the calendar has arrived, the Tour de France. After a long wait, racing is about to resume and there's no chance for a slow build-up. It's straight down to carnage. We need to show our faces (and jerseys) to the millions of people watching all around the world which is why we've brought a team capable of animating the race on any stage. The likes of Gilbert, Ballan and Hushovd will have chances to go for stage wins, while Van Garderen goes for a good GC with support from his compatriot Lewis and local boy Moinard. Here is our full team:
Alessandro Ballan
Marcus Burghardt
Philippe Gilbert
Thor Hushovd
Jordan Lewis
Amael Moinard
Taylor Phinney
Michael Schär
Tejay Van Garderen
While all of the chaos is happening over in France, we are also sending seven riders to our neighbours Austria for the Österreich Rundfahrt. The race is, as you'd expect in the middle of the Alps, very mountainous and could be decided in the first 2 or 3 stages. We are hoping Frank and Nerz will earn some success in the high mountains and Pinotti should do well in the ITT. Here is the full team:
Stephen Cummings
Matthias Frank
Martin Kohler
Dominik Nerz
Marco Pinotti
Jeremy Powers
Larry Warbasse

We may only have just started the Tour de France (which is apparently in the middle of the first ever rest week) but in cycling, things move quickly and the 2014 transfer season has already started. BMC's transition from pile of shit with the occasional success to consistent challengers is gathering pace this week as the management look to snap up a replacement for the outgoing Jordan Lewis.
The General Manager Peter Griffin is hard at work behind the scenes with one youngster in particular very high on the wishlist. "We have a very firm interest in one particular youngster who is definitely leaving his current team and have made what we consider to be a very serious and interesting offer." Griffin said. Unfortunately, the mysterious yet passionate manager wouldn't give us any hints as to the rider's identity but it's no secret that BMC need to improve their sprinting department if they are to become one of the top three teams in the world. "Whether it's a sprinter or not, I can promise you he would really improve the squad and there would be a large portion of the team built around him. He seemed interested in our proposition and it's more a case of providing him with some assurances. We are doing and will do everything possible to make this transfer happen."
The second slot in the team is a more complicated issue for now for the manager as brand new signing Damian Owniak hasn't even had a chance to ride the team's bikes in a competitive situation yet and so more patience is needed. "Unfortunately, all of the top riders will likely be snapped up in the next few weeks while we need to wait for the Tour of Poland to really see what Damian can do and whether he deserves an extended contract", Griffin told us. "In a way, the longer we wait, the more we'll be forced to stick with him anyway as we'll have no choice in a month or so's time. But we have faith that Damian could be the long term answer to our climbing question, along with Dominik Nerz."
Stay tuned for more information when we have it. It's going to be a busy month, that's for sure.

The season restarted with one of the biggest Continental Tour stage races, the Österreich Rundfahrt. We sent a team of seven riders for the eight-day race, hoping to be heavily involved in the GC battle. And, indeed Dominik Nerz made sure we were with consistent top ten finishes on the hard stages at the start of the race to sit in fifth place overall, which he held until the end.

But not only Nerz had a good week. Frank finished inside the top ten on a couple of occasions and finished 8th overall. Warbasse had a very strong ride in the breakaway on stage five and claimed second place on the stage as well as the King of the Mountains classification. A fantastic reward for the American champion. Pinotti took 3rd in the ITT and Kohler battled to a top ten finish on the final stage in Vienna. All in all, a superb performance by the team. Great effort.

Hello , Wouldn't miss the chance to write a little postcard to all the fans of both myself and BMC.
I have just finished 3 weeks in Spain , as preparation for the Vuelta, which will start in a few months. On this training camp, I have gotten a chance to pick out my favorite mountains, where I may get a chance to go for victory at. At this training camp I have also lived in a tent on each mountain I have crossed, in order to get how the air is and also how the terrain is.
Sierra Nevada
I have tried to do anything to prepare myself the best for this race and I think I have gotten a good experience out of this trip to the hot Spain. Now I journey from this warm country, to more known roads in Poland. I will get joined by the rest of the roster in a few weeks, but as I already know the roads like my backpocket , I will try to get a more relaxed preparation for my chance to show what I am made of.
Will take part of a few amateur races while I'm in Poland, so expect to hear from me soon, where I will have some pictures from these events, so stay tuned!
~Damian

Our new signing Damian there, taking reconnaissance to the next level.
We have been very busy behind the scenes here at BMC as the world watches the Tour de France and our work has paid off. We can confirm we have agreed a deal and clinched the signing of young British sprinter Adrien Hanzen for the 2014 season. After being rejected by Hanzen at the start of this season, we knew we had to try again and we made him an offer he couldn't refuse.
Adrien has had a strong neo-pro season, the highlight of which was clearly wearing the Maglia Rosa at the Giro, but due to Sky's GC ambitions, hasn't really been given the opportunities he wanted. Unlike Sky, BMC's ambition is to challenge on every possible terrain and Adrien gives us the opportunity to compete in bunch sprints that we have so lacked this season, though Hushovd has been doing very well in the Tour de France so far. With fellow British sprinter Adam Blythe already here, we really hope to build him a leadout to be feared when the transfer season comes around.
We wish him the best of luck and hope this new adventure can take him to where he wants to be.

Being away i missed the awards entirely, but i do like them. Just needs some more interest from a wider part of the game. Also great to see Hanzen taking the honors and giving me a clean sweep thus far

Hi
Wouldn't leave you out in the cold, so as a part of my preparation for Tour de Pologne , I joined the Polist national team, to participate in the Junior part of Szaak Grow Pastowski
Stage 1
The 176 km long hilly stage of the race. My best chance to get the jersey
Favorites
D.Owniak - W.Pedrovski - S.Herklotz
Race
Our team sets the pace, no one is interested in breaking away
We go into the second round of the stage, we're getting helped in setting the pace
With 35 km to go , the pace starts to get high. A nervous pack , seems to have woken up
But Silvio Herklotz makes a mistake and takes several favorites down in the ground, I order the team to push!
With 12 km to go I launch the attack after great work from M.Nowak. W.Pedrovski, C.Chevrier and H.Blikra tries to follow
But I am too strong, and here I have 30 seconds down before the 4 km long finish upward
And I manage to win comfortably and my usually low energy reserves are not their anymore, in fact I have the feeling I could race the whole stage once again.
Standings
GC
1 | Damian Owniak | Poland | 5h10'45 | 2 | Wladi Pedrovski | Russia | + 55 | 3 | Håvard Blikra | Norway | + 59 | 4 | Clément Chevrier | France | + 1'41 | 5 | Pierre-Henri Lecuisinier | France | + 2'39 |
KoM
1 | Damian Owniak | Poland | 110 | 2 | Konrad Tomaszewski | Poland | 64 | 3 | HÃ¥vard Blikra | Norway | 46 |
Points
1 | Damian Owniak | Poland | 25 | 2 | Wladi Pedrovski | Russia | 20 | 3 | HÃ¥vard Blikra | Norway | 16 |

That was no mistake, he was taking capitalist pigs out of the race.
What do you mean, wrong Silvio Herklotz? There's only one. I had no idea he was such a talented cyclist as well. Champion System should give him a rider contract.
Nice win anyway.

Hm, that crash was pretty bad. My knee hurts a bit now. But maybe I should follow your instruction and sign myself
(I really did not see coming that name could be so funny.. just worked out great.)
