After three signings so far for the team, we are happy to announce that two final signings have been made, to compliment the rest of the squad next year.
First up is Michael Risoy, a talent who is great on the cobbles. One day he could lead the team in the Northern Classics, but for now he will be a great domestique next season at this level.
Then, there is another young Norwegian talent, Rolf Hvale. He has impressed in stage races across the world at U23 level this year, and should be a good rider to have around next year. Who knows, maybe he could even get a few good results!
That concludes our Transfers for next year, five riders in, two out which should move the team on to the next level. Now to see out the rest of the season, and to try and finish it strongly.

Great story you've got here.. long time since I've been on the forum and this is a cool one to see
Feel like I have to mention that I have raced with both Petter Schmidt and Sondre Holst Enger when they were Juniors, we were 16 at the time.. I remember thinking already back then that Sondre would go pro in some years if he wanted. In an uphill sprint (on our feets, this was winter in Norway, snowy and stuff ) he beat the rest of the team with 2 min. He used 3 min up the hill and the rest of us used 5
But enough about that, keep up the good racing and the good storytelling mate

Great to see you back, and thanks for the praise
Cool that you knew them two, must have been some good fun. The uphill run may not have been so fun though And I'll keep it up, don't worry. |

Arctic Race of Norway [2.1]
Another of our big season objectives arrives, the Arctic Race of Norway. We bring a strong team to be lead by Enger in the sprints and Aasvold in the overall, as there is a TT on stage 3 which could prove crucial in the GC. Young stagiare Selnaes also makes his debut for the team.
As the race is 2.1 category, results should be hard to come by especially with some of the big WorldTour teams racing here. Our target is realistically a top ten overall and a stage top five.
Stage 1
8th August, 2013
Stage one is a flat stage, which shouldn't really throw up any surprises as the sprinter's teams try to set up their fastmen for an early yellow jersey.
There are big crosswinds though which cause echelons as the pace is picked up to catch the breakaway. Many big leaders are dropped like Lobato (Euskatel) and Poels (Vacansoleil), shredding the peloton down to 47 riders.
The main core of our team stays in the front group though, including Enger who going into the sprint holds Hondo's (Radioshack) wheel. That looks to be a poor decision though as Bardiani's train dominates the early sprint.
A great turn of speed from Hondo's leadout Roulston puts Enger in a great position inside the final kilometer. The young Norwegian sits in a great 4th place as he launches his sprint!
It is Van Keirsbulck who takes victory in the end after a great final 500 metres. Enger is just pushed out of a podium in 4th, a great way to start the race for the team! With Aasvold also gaining time on many GC-rivals, today turned out to be a great day for the team.
1 | Guillaume Van Keirsbulck | OmegaPharma - Quick Step Cycling | 3h36'18 | 2 | Anthony Roux | FDJ.fr | s.t. | 3 | Gaëtan Bille | Lotto - Belisol | s.t. | 4 | Sondre Holst Enger | Team Plussbank | s.t. | 5 | Rüdiger Selig | Katusha Team | s.t. |
Stage 2
9th August, 2013
Another flat day today, although with slightly more hills. A bunch sprint should be in store but after yesterday anything could happen.
That proves to be the case as race leader Van Keirsbulck is caught in a crash involving 10-riders, and is left by the peloton. Also involved in the crash is Selnaes, who looks to be in a bad way. Not the nicest thing to happen in your debut race.
Moving back to the action, the break is reeled in and as the sprint begins we decide to try something different; Aasvold leads out Schmidt while Enger sits in the favourites' wheels. It seems to be working entering the last 2000 metres, with the leadout going perfectly!
Schmidt is too tired to do anything though, so Enger is best positioned inside the final kilometer for us. Kojcan holds the lead, and will be looking to make up for his team's faliures yesterday.
He can't do that though, because Kump comes flying past him to take victory for Saxo Bank! Kojcan fades to finish 3rd, and Enger is once again right behind in 5th. Another nice performance from him, showing that yesterday was no fluke.
Van Keirsbulck finishes 4'19" down with three other teammates, which means he loses his leaders jersey. Meanwhile, Selnaes couldn't finish due to injuries sustained in the crash.
After two stages then, Enger is placed well in the overall standings in 7th, 6" down on race leader Colbrelli (Bardiani). That should all change though in tomorrow's TT, where the better rouleurs should shine.

Thanks all for following
Arctic Tour of Norway [2.1]
Stage 3
10th August, 2013
After two flat stages, stage 3 is a 14 kilometre ITT, which should settle the GC ahead of another flat stage tomorrow.
Van Keirsbulck (OPQS), winner of stage 1, was the first competitive rider to set a time. The young Belgian stopped the clock on 18'20", which was the benchmark for the early part of the day.
Our best finisher was Hoem, who beat an off form Aasvold and Enger today. He finished 1'00" down on Van Keirsbulck.
Soon enough some of the big favourites were finishing. Ignatiev (Katusha), is of the calibre to beat Van Keirsbulck on his day, but lacked speed today. He came in 9" down.
Meyer (GreenEdge) was another big rider to come out of the starting gate, but unlike Ignatiev he didn't disappoint, moving into the lead with a time of 18'16".
None beat the Australian's time, and therefore he was in the provisional yellow jersey as race leader Colbrelli (Bardiani) finished. His time was 37" behind Meyer's meaning the Australian leads the race going into the final stage. Hoem is our best placed GC rider overnight, in 32nd, which isn't really what we expected.
1 | Cameron Meyer | Orica - GreenEDGE | 18'16 | 2 | Guillaume Van Keirsbulck | OmegaPharma - Quick Step Cycling | + 4 | 3 | Julien Vermote | OmegaPharma - Quick Step Cycling | + 7 | 4 | Jens Mouris | Orica - GreenEDGE | + 8 | 5 | Gaëtan Bille | Lotto - Belisol | + 9 |
Stage 4
11th August, 2013
The final stage of the race is flat, and should provide a quiet end of the race for the GC contenders that did battle yesterday as the sprinters fight for a victory.
However, the breakaway has other ideas as nine men stay away! Eidsheim (Oster Hus) takes the stage, which will please his team. Enger finishes in a decent 17th in the sprint behind.
Overall, a decent race for us. Enger performed well in the sprints, but we couldn't get a good placing in the overall due to a bad TT. Still, the competition was tough so I think we can be happy with our performances here.
1 | Filip Eidsheim | Team Øster Hus - Ridley | 2h13'12 | 2 | Truls Engen Korsaeth | Joker - Merida | s.t. | 3 | Michal Golas | OmegaPharma - Quick Step Cycling Team | s.t. | 4 | Maciej Paterski | Cannondale Pro Cycling | s.t. | 5 | Daniele Pietropolli | Lampre - Merida | s.t. |
GC
1 | Cameron Meyer | Orica - GreenEDGE | 10h17'15 | 2 | Gaëtan Bille | Lotto - Belisol | + 5 | 3 | Julien Vermote | OmegaPharma - Quick Step Cycling | + 7 | 4 | Mikhail Ignatiev | Katusha Team | + 13 | 5 | Anthony Roux | FDJ.fr | + 14 | 6 | Jesse Sergent | Radioshack - Leopard | s.t. | 7 | David Boucher | FDJ.fr | s.t. | 8 | Lasse Norman Hansen | Blue Water Cycling | + 15 | 9 | Alexander Wetterhall | Team NetApp - Endura | s.t. | 10 | Jérôme Cousin | Team Europcar | + 16 |

Not the worst race, but another brekaway? CT should create the award for the story where breaks suceed the most. |

I don't think that justifies an award, but I'd guess if it existed I would win In all seriousness, I'd like to see the breakaways fixed again in the new patch, but that doesn't look like happening...

Indeed, Enger did well considering his opposition. I haven't raced against WT riders yet due to the bug so it was nice for the team to test itself. |

Well, it needs to be fixed, especially MG speaking. Won't be a fun season with those less populated CT races. |

Tour des Fjords [2.1]
There are two changes to the team that raced the Arctic Tour; Selnaes moves out of the team with an injury, and Roinas replaces Grondahl Jansen. The strengths remain largely the same though, with Enger here for the sprints and Aasvold our overall contender, because of the presence of stage 3's TTT.
There is a smaller field than usual, with 88 riders starting the race. That said, plenty of those are quality WorldTour riders so we will have to work hard for any result here.
Stage 1
15th August, 2013
Stage 1 is flat, but has some hills to get over at the start. They shouldn't cause any damage to the sprinters, but the peloton must make sure any breakaway doesn't build an unassailable lead.
We send Lunke into the break, to collect King of the Mountain points and possibly to try and get a surprise stage win. He succeeds with the first objective, beating fellow attacker Sterebo (Cult Energy), but is eventually pulled back by the sprinters' teams.
Vacansoleil and Caja Rural both set up sprint trains, for Lasca and Bole respectively. Those are the men in prime position going into the final sprint, with Enger our best rider in 8th place.
Bole, Lasca and Kump (Saxo Bank) are all in prime position moving into the final kilometer. Enger is a bit further behind, but moving into 7th.
The stage is Kump's, who dashes through to take the win for Saxo Bank along with an early leaders' jersey. Enger moves through into 6th, but has to settle for 8th as he fades and then gets a bit blocked in the final few metres. That is certainly something to build on moving into the rest of the race.
1 | Marko Kump | Team Saxo - Tinkoff | 4h19'47 | 2 | Grega Bole | Vacansoleil - DCM Pro Cycling Team | s.t. | 3 | Vegard Robinson Bugge | Joker - Merida | s.t. | 4 | Wout Poels | Vacansoleil - DCM Pro Cycling Team | s.t. | 5 | Maurits Lammertink | Vacansoleil - DCM Pro Cycling Team | s.t. |
Stage 2
16th August, 2013
Stage 2 brings a hilly stage to the race, and should add a different element of racing. It isn't as hard as to cause massive gaps, but should prove to be the initial battle between the GC favourites.
The break is reeled in very early, leading to attacks from some minor favourites. With 10 kilometres left, Ponzi (Astana) who lost time yesterday is in the lead, and looks likely to win the stage. Everything is together behind in the bunch.
Another couple of attacks are made, and have small gaps leading into the final few kilometres. Behind, we keep calm and set the pace through Hoem at the front, with Enger in his wheel.
All but one further attack is reeled in, by Bole. He can't catch Ponzi though, who claims the stage win. The Slovenian gets his reward though, with the GC lead.
In the sprint behind, seven riders break off the front of the peloton. Enger is among them, finishing 7th on the day. They finish 29" behind the leading duo, and a further 23" ahead of the rest of the bunch, containing the rest of our team.
That leads the race finely poised leading into the TTT, with Enger our best positioned rider GC-wise in 6th overall. Aasvold, our best rouleur, is also well placed in 11th.
1 | Simone Ponzi | Astana Pro Team | 2h46'45 | 2 | Grega Bole | Vacansoleil - DCM Pro Cycling Team | s.t. | 3 | Danail Andonov Petrov | Caja Rural - Seguros RGA | + 29 | 4 | Enzo Josue Moyano | Caja Rural - Seguros RGA | s.t. | 5 | Valerio Agnoli | Astana Pro Team | s.t. |
GC (Provisional)
1 | Grega Bole | Vacansoleil - DCM Pro Cycling Team | 7h06'20 | 2 | Marko Kump | Team Saxo - Tinkoff | + 31 | 3 | Danail Andonov Petrov | Caja Rural - Seguros RGA | + 37 | 4 | Enzo Josue Moyano | Caja Rural - Seguros RGA | + 41 | 5 | Valerio Agnoli | Astana Pro Team | s.t. | 6 | Sondre Holst Enger | Team Plussbank | s.t. | 7 | Haavard Blikra | Team Øster Hus - Ridley | s.t. | 8 | Alexey Lutsenko | Astana Pro Team | s.t. | 9 | Francesco Lasca | Caja Rural - Seguros RGA | + 59 | 10 | Vegard Robinson Bugge | Joker - Merida | + 1'00 |
