The first slice of racing is over for Team ABUS. Taking a look at the rankings, it seems like we didn’t do bad at all. After his fabulous win in Handzame, Frank Wagner is the current 14th in the individual continental ranking, while goal getter Marcel Meisen sits at 42th place thanks to his many places of honor. Also Damien Howson, Fredrik Ludvigsson and Bastian Bürgel delivered us some UCI points so far.
Result is a strong tenth place in the continental team ranking. We’re the best continental team with that, and, even more important, the best German team for the moment. In the CQ Ranking however, our colleagues of Team NetApp - Endura are two places ahead of us. In that list, we are the current 30th. Only ten professional continental teams and no single continental squad do better for now, which means that at the moment we seem to be heading to promotion next season. No need to say our sponsors are more than happy so far!
Prolongations
As a result, we’re already planning for 2014. We’re happy to announce that our best talents have decided to prolong their contract with Team ABUS. Marcel Meisen, Silvio Herklotz, Fredrik Ludvigsson and Caleb Ewan were still under contract for next year but now they have already agreed to be wearing our colors for multiple seasons after 2014. The backbone of Team ABUS is assured. Jakob Steigmiller, whose contract was running out at the end of this year, also signed for a prolonged stay at our squad.

Team ABUS ain't dead yet After hitting the roads for the first time in Australia, bravely battling the pros at Mallorca and Algarve, showing our white colors on the Flemish cobbles, getting a load of places of honor for leader Marcel Meisen around Europe, seeing our climbers do well in Istria after a slow start, surprising the cycling world with Frank Wagner's win in Handzame, surviving a frustrating Tour de Normandie and helping our toptalents Silvio Herklotz, Caleb Ewan and Tobias Ludvigsson in the start of their development, our adventures are far from over.
New reports for our German continental development team are coming up soon again, now that I have some free time finally
