Does anyone else have that problem where when they click ctrl+u then go back, you can't have rings under and names over they just do one or the other.
This really annoys me and is why some of my story photos have rings under, as I had everything prepared, then went to take off rings, and put them on!!
Also, not sure if anyone cares (it seems to have been the least followed story EVER), but Breaking Confidence might return, seperate to Walter of course. My career is already in 2015! |

If that happens, press space (to open menu thing) and then press the button for the rings again. That should synchronize it back together
I'd be nice to see Breaking Confidence return!

Yeah, in the end it wasn't just a case of resolving the DB issues as just completely redoing the game. Turns out if you just leave two climbers on pot 8 for two years they become horrendously OP.... |

Guys, i have a problem. I mean, i want to start new story. It's pretty stupid , but i just want to do it. On another side, i feel like a moron because i started 2 in last 3 weeks and that's totally idiotic. Have no idea what to do.
Will probably stay with the story a bit longer since i already played a career with them in PCM13, PCM10 and PCM12 and not a single one shorter than 3 seasons. I need some advice. I have free time, so that's not problem this time. Neither it's PC issues.
Just do it, mate. Looking forward to it!

Hmm.
I'm in a bit of a doubt
I've got around and downloaded the StanosCross DB for PCM 12. Wanted to play it for a change of PCM 13, and it looked fun, even though I know barely nothing about Cyclocross(my knowledge is mostly the one I have from reading the Cyclocross thread on this forum ).
There were some problems with the DB, like a low participation in (minor) races. I believe that was the problem that stopped Ian's story(long ago), since he won every small race at a certain moment, due to only a few riders being at the start.
Anyway, I managed to solve them. I did some transfers, and some stat changes(mostly based on the rankings, just upping some guys high on the rankings and changing the matrix).
Then, I suddenly had the urge to start a story myself.
It's short seasons, small teams(so less planning), shorter races(-> short reports -> less time-consuming), and it'd be fun to build up from the bottom.
I guess it'd be an one rider story, but V/d Poel is a bit too good for CT division, so I suppose it'd be a custom rider...
So, I'm in doubt, since I don't know if that motivation is just here for a few days or for months.
Plus, I don't know if there's any interest in cyclocross stories here?
Is there?

A fellow Dutchie (me) would be interested in cyclocross, so I wouldn't mind if you started one

That would be really nice, had that as idea! Will follow for sure, if you start something like that. I am using PCM12 just for Cyclocross atm , and i really have much fun with it.
@All - I started new Katusha story, just for information. Will edit first few posts tommorow.

Good luck with the new story. .... Despite saying recently that you would not start another one for 6 months! |

Actually, I can't find that Cyclocross story back...
It was Ian who did it, right?
Edit: Found it, it turns out it was Francopell
And yeah, the first race had 5 riders at the start. At least I wouldn't have that problem, I fixed it
Edit2: He also played without the updates, so the surroundings & roads were pretty ugly

Good to hear there's interest in it at least
Now I have to wait and see if the motivation continues to be there. I'll probably play around a bit with a custom rider.
(And no, Kelderman won't be the added rider I'd do my story with )

Hello everyone.
I have been thinking about some of the new stories, all the best ones seem to have all sorts of twists and turns. Think Hammarling, Day in the Life, Comeback, etc etc.
I love this sort of thing, and am thinking if maybe adopting a similar style. The problem is, I genuinely am too atatched to Walter to let anything happen to him! I can't be the only one with this problem can I?
So I'd have to make a new story, and I have 2 big ones planned. One which does a lot of that sort of stuff, like a lot, in the stupendously unrealistic yet enjoyable realm of The Comeback
The other is a bit like that, but not on such a large scale.
I was wondering if you think I should jump in at the deep end, or work my way across. (This will be a long time (hopefully) anyway, since Walter still lives) Don't bother with the "Do whatever you want" advice, as it's great normally, but I want to do both, so I wondered what people think is best both for me, and what they'd want to read. |

The trick is doing it without doing all that much damage. I mean i did get Jack caught, but in the end all it really did was make the prologue end quicker.

Do what ever you want
But seriously... I've been writing Karl since September 2012 and it's fair to say i've become very attached to him as a character. That is in part due to length and effort in building him up and because there is a lot of me and my experiences in him.
I know that at some point i have to move away from him. At some point it has to end, definitively, for ever. And i've done that, yet to be posted of course.
If you really want to move away from Susilo then you have pre-write the ending first. Once you know that the rest becomes easy and you can move onwards.
Equally be careful about new things. Great to take inspiration from things like The Comeback, but it can be very easy to end up copying even accidentally.

If you really care about your personage, you should let something happen, I think
It doesn't have to be doping or death, that's extreme. You could give him a life without changing his career too much |

I think my idea is unique and not very similar to the Comeback really, it follows similar sort of thing, some PCM, some story writing, few weird twists, trouble etc, but it has VERY different themes, so hopefully it'll be ok.
What I don't get is, for example, if you like Karl so much, how could you make him cheat, I was disappointed, and I don't even follow the whole time! I like Walter, but I already have an ending planned in case it had to be finished for technical reasons, but I don't think I'd end it for motivation, (famous last words)
So thanks both Dippofix and The Manx Missile
Edit: And Ian, he zabel'd me
