The Sky Pro Cycling team did not study the track of the last stage of the Tour of Oman too well. Like almost everybody, the Sky team expected the race to finish in a mass sprint and did not expect anybody to get away in the last couple of kilometers with a pack at full speed. In the last kilometers the hills seemed to be significantly bigger than expected and once Froom realized this Rodriguez and Schumacher were gone. And they were not going to be caught, even with Wiggins as a leadout for the pack at full speed. Not a good day for the Sky Pro Cycling team, which still has to wait for its maiden victory of the year....

Stage 4: Castro Marim - Tavira 34.7 km (ITT)
Ian Boswell - Joshua Edmondson - Sergio Henao - David Lopez - Danny Pate - Kanstantsin Siutsou - Jonathan Tiernan-Locke - Rigoberto Uran
Velits was the first rider who managed to put a very fast time on the clock. He was far back in the general standings and was just racing for a good stage result. Eventually he would finish at seventh position.
Chavanel was the first rider to beat the time of Velits. Like his teammate, also Chavanel had already lost too much time to matter in the general standings. He would finish at third position.
Fuglsang was unable to beat the time of Chavanel, but it brought him to the first place in the general standings for a while. Eventually Fuglsang would finish 4th in the stage and 6th in the general standings.
Cancellara was by far the man to beat. As expected he was much faster than everybody else and he managed to pass Rigoberto Uran.
Thomas de Gendt also had a good day. He would finish second in the stage and third in the general standings. Also he secured the points jersey as Tyler Farrar didn't score points today.
Hesjedal started in the yellow jersey and tried to hold off Cancellara. It was an impossible task. Hesjedal finished at the 5th place in the stage and dropped back to 2nd in the general standings. Cancellara took the Vuelta ao Algarve.

Gent - Gent 198 km
Edvald Boasson Hagen - Bernhard Eisel - Salvatore Pucchio - Gabriel Rasch - Luke Rowe - Ian Stannard - Christopher Sutton - Geraint Thomas
Early in the race Vanendert, Fairly, Sprick, Luyten, Claeys, Janssens, Armée, Verwaest, Labbe and McNalley escaped from the pack.
They were caught as the pack didn't allow so many riders to escape. Claeys, Boucher, Labbe, Kreder and Sutton were the next ones to attempt to break away. Flens and Viviani joined the attackers a couple of kilometers later.
With 120 kilometers to go Boasson made the jump to the leading group.
It started to rain when the riders passed the 100 kilometers to go sign. Claeys, Labbe, Sutton, Boucher, Boasson Hagen, Viviani, Flens and Kreder had a 1 minute lead on Hondo, Stannard, Cancellara, Roelandts, Haussler, Eisel, Tsjallingi and Sieberg. The pack followed at 1'40".
With Boasson Hagen and Cancellara on the loose, Omega Pharma increased the pace of the pack and brought everybody back.
Roelandts, Kroon, Tjallingii, Cooke, Hondo and Burghardt were the next ones to attack.
After the second last couble section Roelandts, Kroon, Tjallingii, Cooke, Hondo and Burghardt still were more than two minutes ahead of a group with Vandenbergh, Stybar, Boonen, Chavenel, Flecha, Gaudin and Boasson Hagen. Cancellara, Ballan, Langeveld, O'Grady, Vaitkus, Thomas, Turgot, Haussler, Bak and Eisel followed at 2'52".
With 20 kilometers to go Cooke, Tjalingii, Roelandts, Kroon and Burghardt held 1'11" on a group with Cancellara, Flecha, Boonen, Stybar, Boasson Hagen, Vandenbergh, Chavenel, Ballan, Langeveld, Hondo and Gaudin. Cancellara and Flecha attacked.
Cancellara, Langeveld, Flecha and Chavanel made it to the lead and left the others behind. Ballan and Gaudin desperately tried to cling on. The others were unable to follow.
Langeveld beat Cancellara in the sprint. He wins the Omloop het Nieuwsblad 2013 edition.

The Sky Pro Cycling Team mist a little bit of luck in the Omloop het Nieuwsblad. The team managed to get Boasson Hagen together with Sutton into the leading group, but were unable to last a long distance. The next breakaway almost managed to get to the finish and was only caught in the last kilometers. Thirteenth is therefore a pretty good position for Hagen to finish. Not counting the last escapies a top ten position was definitively in the picture. Tomorrow already is the next race on the program. Rasch and Pucchio will not start at the Kuurne - Brussel - Kuurne race and will be replaced with Hayman and Swift.

Kuurne - Kuurne 189.7 km
Edvald Boasson Hagen - Bernhard Eisel - Mathew Hayman - Luke Rowe - Ian Stannard - Christopher Sutton - Ben Swift - Geraint Thomas
De Wortelaer, Démare, Goos, Van Goolen and Hayman escaped from the pack. Janse van Rensburg joined the attackers soon after. Together they quickly took a 7 minute lead on the pack, which didn't seem to be interested in chasing the breakaway.
With more than 100 kilometers to go Phinney attacked. He would close a 6 minutes gap with the leading group and join the attackers.
On the cobbles Hayman and Phinney left the other attackers behind.
The pack broke into pieces on the difficult terrain, while Bak attacked. Chainel followed.
After the last cobble strip Phinney, Hayman, Bak and Chainel kept a 31" lead on Goos, Démare, Van Goolen, Janse van Rensburg and De Wortelaer. The pack followed at 2'30".
The pack caught all attackers and it seemed it was going to become a bunch sprint. But then Cancellara attacked...
He managed to hold a gap with the pack and he wins the 2013 edition of Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne.
