The point is to keep it realistic, he doesn't have the money to sign those riders, and it would never happen. |

Yeah, but signng Leif Hoste to AUBER 93, when he may barely be in the top 10 CT, would be completely unrealistic. And being realistic is one of the central themes of this story (such as attacking a lot, and other CT tactics).
Also, Podium Place - Tottenham is da bomb!

Tottenham?? Funny guy you.... OK I see it will be better to make this story realistic, but if it was my story I shure would have signed him. And his salary is way lower when he dont have a contract

I know, but it is still ridiculos, could you see a top 10 northern classics rider on a non-belgian CT team that wasn't near the top? Hoste isn't that old, and Aaron Lennon is da BOMB |

Yes, I know you can put up a better list, but that is pretty damn good, Martin Jol was an idiot and ruined our season :x:x:x |

Errm no offence, but please don't trash my story thread with pointless drivel about football. Its a cycling forum and a cycling story. Who i sign will be as realistic as i believe, and if you've followed the story so far, i think you'd agree i've been fairly true to my word so far.
EDIT: Please take it to PMs if you wanna chat that.
Stage 4
Another flat course of 90km, which was full of pointless attacks by many riders. With quickstep controlling the race nothing was going to get away.
With 3km to the line, Drujon found himself in a brilliant position, having a lead out done by yet another team.
Whilst they never got back upto the lead out train of Bouygues, Drujon managed to gain some ground back, and spoilt the potential 1-2-3 of the ProTour French team. Another good result to sum up our race!

A great 2, both in the stage and GC, where do you stand in the CT standings, and how do your sponsors feel?
P.S. - sorry for the football argument ops:

Okay, so with a "little bit of luck" (My Fair Lady style) you might be able to manage a PT spot, maybe......................... |

The Circuit de Lorraine Professionels
A 5 day stage race, with 2 sprinters stages starting and finishing the tour, and 3 hilly days right in the middle. A perfect race for Levarlet to go for.
Tronet would be sprinting by himself now, as Drujon will be focusing on the more important races, and spending his last good racing days as productively as possible.
We also brought a few of the worse riders, to start to single our better riders as proper leaders.
Stage 1
Hilly to being with, but with a long flat finish.
We started by going in the break, but that was brought back, and so the team sat in for the day, and allowed the "good" sprinters to waste their energy sprinting for the first and final intermediate sprints.
With 5km to go, Tronet started to look for a wheel to follow, with a mind to switch during the sprint. By the 3km to go mark, he had moved himself and Levarlet (with his + 5 daily form and 66 sprint) to the front.
Amazingly, when the sprint started, only a few of the riders seemed to be going forward, as Tronet quickly went past the majority, following the Rabobank cont. riders wheel. Levarlet in tow.
By the finish, we were over the moon with the result. The team seems to be finally coming together and getting some quality results.
Results:
1 Jos Van Emden RABOBANK CONTINENTAL 4h46'19
2 Steven Tronet AUBER 93 s.t.
3 Guillaume Levarlet AUBER 93 s.t.
4 Wesley Van der Linden CHOCOLADE JACQUES - TOPSPORT VLAANDEREN s.t.
5 Lilian Jégou FRANÇAISE DES JEUX s.t.

89 Steve Chainel AUBER 93 + 3'50
91 Jean Mespoulède AUBER 93 + 7'30

89 Steve Chainel AUBER 93 + 4'10
91 Jean Mespoulède AUBER 93 + 7'50
103 Coen Vermeltfoort RABOBANK CONTINENTAL + 24'14
Points:
1 Jos Van Emden RABOBANK CONTINENTAL 25

3 Guillaume Levarlet AUBER 93 16
4 Stéphane Bonsergent BRETAGNE - ARMOR LUX 15
5 Olaf Pollack TEAM WIESENHOF FELT 14
I think that Tronet got such a good result thanks to the classy follow to the line approach, and the fact that the other better sprinters had sprinted 10km before the lines started forming for the final sprint and they were more tired than us. B)

Stage 2, while classed as flat, we really didn't think was. And with a hill 3km long just before the finish the plan would be to see how well Levarlet really was going by attacking to try and gain some time.
As usual a break went away and took all the points on the stage.
With 3km to the top of the final climb, and 10km to the finish, as planned Levarlet attacked.
He didn't get a very big gap, and didn't manage to stay in front, but he did create havoc with the sprinters as riders like Wesemann followed his attack.
Levarlet still managed a nice top 10 placing to maintain his good GC position.

Stage 3 is a hard stage for everyone. Many riders will finish the ride having bonked completely.
We were looking to keep Levarlet up in a good position and keep him as fresh as possible for the inevitable attacks.
On the penultimate climb, many of the favourites for the stage attacked, but whether they were going for the points or the win was unclear as they were quickly brought back. By this point, many groups had formed behind as the riders spat out the back formed groupettos.
Levarlet was in a good position with 8km to go, ready to counter any move from any rider. He was fully charged with energy and had a good form for the 3rd day running ( +5 once and + 3 the past two stages!). With just 3.5km to go, Mazzanti went for it, shooting out the pack with Levarlet breathing down his neck.
Whilst Levarlet couldn't get back up to him, the man really was flying, he did create a gap between himself and the overall leader de Ketele, gaining valuable seconds on him.
