The only problem with the Astana theory is that Martinelli looooooves his italians (he's an idiot btw) so has probably promised Nibali leadership in anything he wants.
Failing Astana, QuickStep as said above seems the most likely.
But Nibali is looking at the Giro this year, Rodriguez at the Tour, no?
So a one-year contract couldn't hurt, and it would give the other teams time to start saving up money to get him after 2013 |

Rumour: Rabobank's new name will be Blanco-Giant. Blanco-giant.com has already been registered by Rabobank.

Dutch cycling journalist / reporter José Been had received this design, and tweeted about it (follow her at @Tourdejosé, she has a lot of cycling news).

They're both interested in the Ardennes Classics, Lombardia, Tirreno etc... however.

Actually RodrÃÂguez has said repeatedly he's more inclined on doing the Giro and Vuelta.
But that's not what I was thinking of. Wherever RodrÃÂguez signs it won't be a contract just for this year.
The potential problems are large.

In other news, Scarponi gets a backdated three-month ban, ending at the start of the new year. Talk about punishment, eh?
He's probably very happy that he got off that easily.

I thought Nov-Dec couldn't be included in short bans any more after 1998, but maybe that's just in France ?
If, at least, he was banned from doing any sport, that'd be half useful... |

Wiggins says he'll try to win the tour next year. "Maybe we'll have two leaders at the tour."

The cases are completely different.
Ricco tested positive on multiple occasions. Scarponi has been working with a banned doctor.
Giving both of them the same penalty wouldn't be fair.
