Oh, and it was in reponse to a questiion. One of them asked which finger was dislocated. The media ran the picture with the tag 'Wiggo jokes as he arrives home whilst nursing dislocated finger'

So basically rhe people who were there werent offended, only random peoople whom were not there and dont understand the context.

Game set and match.

Source? Because all I can find is "Wiggins gives the finger to the press" and so on.

Seriously, you are Wiggins fans, and it's fine. You don't need to justify all he does, personality cult isn't a good thing.

The tabaloids that took the picture. You'd need too get hold of the physical papers I think. Its in the sun, pretty sure the other tabs have it too. Since they are the guys that houndeed him and took thhe picturre, they are the best source. Ironically..

If I am a fan or not is irrelevant. I hate contador, but if he was being vilifieed for the same thing i'd be backing him too. Its not about people attacking wiggins, its about people attacking sportmans in general for not being paragons of perfection.[

It isn't being a paragon of perfection that I care about as I expect that of no one. It is just showing a little maturity. This is just the same as Cavendish giving the finger as he won the race - it was abjectly childish and he was rightly punished.

I couldn't care less about Wiggins not being perfect. But he's shown enough times that he's a dick, even Vaughters has said so, and this is just another showing of it. But he's not being vilified, people are just calling things by its name, it's not like anyone's saying he should be hanged or something like that.

Let's have one more attempt:

Shimano extends sponsorship with Argos-Shimano for two more years.

Will Clarke is also confirmed to the team (probably mentioned before, but not sure)

It's also stated, that they are confident that they will get WT status ("Thanks to the success of sprinters John Degenkolb and Marcel Kittel, the men's team looks set to secure a UCI WorldTour licence for 2013 and so secure automatic invitations to the sports biggest races." ).

Also, Lampre signs 25 year old Kristijan Durasek

We have a transfers thread for this kind of news. Wink

Well, it's still more "on-topic" than the pointless arguing about Wiggins in my opinion Wink
I was just trying to shift the conversation towards less scandalous topics Smile

It isnt the same at all though. Cavendish was stupid because it was a race. He was representing the team at an actual event. Iif a cusstomer gives me abuse at work, you dont rise to it because your on work time. If someone abuses me on their day off, they can expect to get some back.

If this was taken after a crash at a race as he was being taken to hosptial then yes, it would be wrong. Telling a stalker to fuck off is in no way a personality flaw. Thats what people who camp outside your home hoping to see you are. Stalkers.

It's actually even more offtopic than the Wiggins discussion. The transfers thread exists to not clog the "News in ..." threads with transfer news, and instead leave room for other things. Smile

Damn TdP might be awesome route wise next year.

With Madonna Di Campiglio as the MTF in Italy it would seem the winner would be decided in the first 2 days in Italy, however Lang said they plan around 40km ITT in Poland.

So the winner might not be just pure climber. Seems good so far.

former teammate of Armstrong Benoît Joachim (luxembourg) uttered his regrets about never having used doping substances. he said he didn't because he was too scared to be caught.

the reason for his regrets are that with doping he could have had an awesome career, better results and salaries.

I totally believe him. Especially when I remember HE WAS CAUGHT USING STEROIDS TEN YEARS AGO.

It was his unborn twin/contaminated meat/peruvian candies/was having sex with a bodybuilder. He wouldn't dope, really.

The luxembourg authorities did what they always do with their athletes: made up a ridiculous excuse to get him free.
They claimed some special deadline they had that had never been mentioned or discussed before hadn't been respected by the lab testing the B sample.

Looking forward for that race. Will be a very different one from the last previous years. Smile

Yep, hopefully as exciting as this year's edition which was very enjoyable. Field full of talent, lots of attacks and exciting racing.

The 2013 course looks promising, tbh it might turn out most balanced stage race of the season.

really dont see why this is an issue, or why wiggins is getting hate for showing emotion after being released from hospital with a broken rib

I imagine that if you solo climbing the Alpe D'Huez and you are really digging deep and some stupid fan runs alongside you, increasing the danger of a crash by trying to hear you heart beats, you would do the same...

imagine you've been hit by a van whilst on a rider, and break a rib. Then on the way out of the hospital you are hounded by ten's of paparazzi who are getting in the way and yelling, lightbulbs flashin, you would do the same
