Shame Pauriol couldn't get across the gap but a breakaway is probably our best chance at a decent result here.

Hincapie still only 56 seconds behind on GC. And a stage win can still be won.

RADIO PRESENTER: "It's stage 3 of the Santos Tour Down Under in Cycling today and we'll be getting regular updates from former Gold medalist and twice Tour de France stage winner, Brad McGee."
BRAD MCGEE: "Thank You. Well today's stage is from Unley to Victor Harbor and should be perfect for the sprinters this afternoon. Particularly with the scolding heat out there. We do have a four man breakaway though and those involved are Sergio Paulinho, Rene Jorgensen, John Murphy and Reto Hollenstein.
BM: "The break has just gone through the first points marker of the day and it is the mountain category sprint. Sergio Paulinho beat Rene Jorgensen too it but that 2nd place will give him the jersey tomorrow. Hang on, Julian Arrendondo had made a break for 5th out of the pack and that will give him four points which will mean will be the wearer of the mountain jersey."
BM: "You now join us just before the 2nd points sprint of the day. Rene Jorgensen won the 1st by catching the rest of the breakaway cold with an early attack. But this one is going to be much closer, Reto Hollenstein is making a huge challenge for them, it's going to be close but I think Jorgensen got the win..he did."
BM: "Before we go back to you guys in the studio, just to inform you of the overall stage picture, the lead the break had topped out at around 5 minutes, But the big 3 teams with sprinters, ,, as well as Russia protecting the leaders jersey have already pulled it back to just 3"22 and the sprint we expected should happen."
BM: "You join us with 10km left to go and we'll now bring the rest of the stage to you live. The break has only just been caught, with the pack desperate not to be caught cold like yesterday although John Murphy has made a last attempt to stay away for the day. It looks unlikely though as the huge might of German power is pulling this hard at the front to not only pull it back but make it nigh on impossible for ourselves or the UK to make a train of their own."
BM: "The catch has been made with 5km left and everyone is forming a long line behind the Germans, nobody can get anywhere close to the front and I can't see Mark Cavendish's rainbow jersey anywhere...He is way back in the middle of the bunch, he won't do anything from there, the Germans have blown his team away."
BM: "However, they may have blown it too early themselves, they only have Degenkolb left to lead him out with over a km left and he's pull over now. They are all queuing up behind Griepel. Hushovd, Tom Veelers, Tyler Farrar and our man Goss all in a line behind.
BM: "Now Farrar is dropping back as is Veelers, but here goes Thor Hushovd and Goss is looking to follow him through. Romain Feillu is making a move as well from right across the other side of the road."
BM: "It's Goss v Hushovd now with 100m to go. Goss is catching up the inside but it's a WIN FOR THOR HUSHOVD. Goss 2nd and Feillu pips Griepel for 3rd with Bennati 5th.
