I am looking for how Alberto will do today.His current time-trial ability is a big question mark for me
Cancellar's time will be definetely beaten, Tony Martin must be wainting for this stage whole Tour

You can't compare the times from Dauphine to the ones here. The riders were most likely not in topform in Dauphine, but now they have been riding for three weeks and they are very tired. The conditions can't be compared.

Not sure if this has been posted:
Danny Pate:
TDF = 59'03
Dauphine 58'39
Lieuwe Westra
TDF = 58'12
Dauphine = 58'28
Not sure if that's a valid comparison after 3 weeks and 2 massive climbing days.

I read that it's drizzling on parts of the course today, is that true? That should slow the times down some, too. |

Still, the riders are not very far from the times they did there. Pate was half a minute behind his time, while Westra was some seconds faster. It's not a sure comparison, but at least it's something. And we don't base the whole race on those results, but it gives us an indication on how riders will do.
For example Martin will have to ride almost to minutes slower than in Dauphine to come behind Cancellara. Will he do so? |

Plus most riders are in better shape for Tour then in Dauphine, someone especially targeting last week

And with that said, both Rui Costa and Malori are on track. They were respectively 10th and 12th in Dauphine. |

Well, if you look at the finishers for the past 2 days, you'll see that Tony Martin has arrived with the bus on both days.
We know he can climb but we also know he's not had a good tour.
This leads me to assume/guess/surmise that he's been saving himself for this stage and is hoping to salvage his tour with a stage win.
I think he can do it! |

And the weather conditions are probably not the same as in the Dauphiné. |

Well, it`s raining. So nobody should take too high risks.
Not sure if it was already raining when Cance started. |

Didnt Tony Martin ride in wet conditions in the Dauphine though?

Think so. At least Wiggins did.
EDIT: It turns out Martin rode in dry conditions, but Wiggins rode in wet. So it looks like the conditions will be almost the same today as in dauphine.

Tony Martin did it in dry conditions, Wiggins in wet conditions. Boasson Hagen also rode in wet/damp conditions in Dauphine.
When Cancellara started today, the roads were mainly dry. |

Malori takes second at first check. 20" behind. The sun is about to show up around the course.
Soon after, Koren takes second, 10" behind Cancellara.

Koren with a fantastic time (by his standards) on 1st checkpoint only 10'' behind Cancellara can he hold of to this pace?
