oh and i got a question concerning story writing..
when you press the export button at the end of a race, what exactly does it export?
like does it export just the race results or all the jersey results and intermediate sprints and KoM sprints during race?
and where does it export the stuff to?
if its easier you can put in screenshots
cheers mate
and i realised on your screenshot of Team Sky on page 4 (i think) the transfert thing down the bottom left is the right size. how did you do that? whenever mine goes there its too big and it puts all the dates on the calendar out of place.. what file size and stuff is yours? and is the one that goes there your transfert av or transfert at? do you know?
and howd you get it so your team name isnt on caps lock. because i realised in other stories the team names are in caps lock but yours isnt.
howd you do that?

@mattie524 when you export at the results page you will first export the stage, then go to points results, click export that will export the points and so on. I don't think it exports kom sprint results. The folder it exports to is Documents/PCM2011/Users/Your username/export/exported_results
@cavfan
ohk cheers mate
yea ill try export everything and see what it does next time i play it
do you know how to make your team name in non-caps?
and im following this story too! looks soo good! heaps of good riders and including lots of my favourites (apart from my number 1, Cadel) and it is heaps good! keep it up man and i really hope you decide to keep it going past a year! so maybe an interview with cancellara and i love the interacting thingys

mattie - team name can be changed in db editor in order to remove caps. such questions should be in another thread mate and not a story thread. this is supposed to be a thread for brewers story
I've managed to find an internet connection (WOOOO!!!)
Anyway, thanks for all the great comments, it was really great after not being on the website for 3 weeks. I will be back permanently on Monday and the next report should be up by Tuesday.
@owks, yeah I guess that's the benefit of taking a very strong team. I actually had a lead out train!!
@mattie and cavfan, I will start the interviews back up then, I wasn't sure if anyone had even read the last one but I will try to respond to any requests. Eddy will probably be the next one (for obvious reasons), and with the cobbled classics coming up, Fabian will probably be after that.

Yeww go Fabian! haha! and yea Eddy's been doing pretty well recently
Edvald Boasson Hagen, the huge Norwegian talent and recent Milan - San Remo winner caught up with us after a training ride in Belgium this morning as he prepares for the tough cobbled classics over the next couple of weeks. He tells us about his new team, his plans for the season and, of course, his big win last week. Check it out below:
Interviewer: Edvald, I'd like to start by congratulating you on the biggest win of your career so far. A magnificent performance in Milan-San Remo.
Edvald Boasson Hagen: Thank you, it was pretty special. You never know how a race as big as that will end up, you could get dropped on the first climb or you could crash, puncture, anything. So I am very pleased.
Int: What's it like having a guy like Cancellara, who has won loads of huge races, leading you out like that, as well as Thomas and Chavanel?
EBH: Well, I don't think anybody has ever seen a proper sprint train in the race before and it was fairly easy for me once Fabian and the other guys had rode me to the line. I just had to beat one other guy and it was pretty close but I just got it.
Int: I take it you're enjoying riding for Team Apple-Powerade at the moment?
EBH: I am now! It is a great team and when they offered me a contract last July, I accepted it straight away because I could see what they were trying to do and I wanted to be here. I have a lot of good friends here and we have a good chance of winning every race. As well as a lot of great young riders who will develop into superstars.
Int: You're now off on to the spring classics, which will be fantastic to watch, as always. But do you have any big goals for them or are you looking to the summer?
EBH: Of course I want to perform as well as I can for the team in all the races I do. My main personal goal is to win Gent-Wevelgem. After that I will be helping Fabian, Chavanel, Philippe (Gilbert), G (Geraint Thomas) who ever I need to. Then a big goal for me is to perform as well as I can to get picked for the Tour de France. It will be difficult because we have a very strong squad and I know that I may have to do the Giro first but I will try my best because I have a lot to offer.
Int: What is your next race, Gent-Wevelgem?
EBH: No, I am doing E3 first, which is a cobbled race aswell, followed by Gent-Wevelgem and then the Tour of Flanders which is a huge race.
Int: Surely, you have to be at the Tour de France, don't you?
EBH: I don't know, you will have to ask the boss! We have a strong squad and I am not the quickest sprinter that we have, but, of course I can offer the team other things, like in the team time trial. It depends what emphasis the management go for.
Int: Thank you for your time and good luck in the classics. You may be a marked man now though!
EBH: Hopefully not! No problem.
Next Week: Fabian Cancellara

The Volta Ciclista a Catalunya is a week long stage race held in the most Northeastern region of Spain, Catalunya. It features one mountain stage as well as a couple of tough hilly stages but there is no time trial in this year's race, so a punchy climber will probably win.
This will be the team's first appearance in this race as we did not enter it last year, so it will be a new experience for all of the management, including myself. We have come to this Tour with a team which is based around the in form Pete Kennaugh who, at just 22, will almost certainly be the least experienced of team leaders. Because of this and the level of competiton, a good GC placing is unlikely and we will simply be aiming to be involved in breakaways and to animate the race, and maybe even win a stage. We also have Arroyo, who could step in should Pete struggle but his fitness is very low. Kittel is here for any bunch sprints and Chumillas is also racing in his home country.
A tricky start with some big climbs to encounter and a hill just before the finish. We will be trying to get in the breakaway today.
The plan succeeded at the first attempt as Swedish neo-pro Granqvist jumped straight into the BOTD along with 7 other riders including Cardoso (Sky) and Michael Rasmussen (Saxo Bank). Here, Granqvist takes his turn as the breakaway builds up a 7 minute lead.
Over the first climb, Granqvist attacked for the points but nobody else was interested, surprisingly, so he took the points.
Over the second categorised climb, Granqvist again comfortably took maximum points as Rasmussen (Saxo Bank) dropped off the back. In the background, you can see Rovny (Radioshack) is also dropped at the very top, reducing the group to 6.
On the final climb, with Cardoso also being dropped, Granqvist felt good and kicked over the top with just 5km to go. The 4 remaining riders in the breakaway did not respond.
And 21-year old Swede Kenny Granqvist picks up his first ever pro victory in his first season. It was a fairly easy victory in a big race aswell, such a talent.
He takes the lead in all four competitions but with Stage 3 involving a mountain, Kenny doesn't stand a chance on GC. Therefore, he will be aiming for the King of the Mountains jersey. Grivko and Kennaugh came in the front group, whilst a lot of favourites lost time, including Nibali, who finished with Dan Lloyd 8 minutes back. I would say today was successful!

A tough climb in the first half of the stage, but this should still finish as a bunch sprint. What can Kittel do?
At the start of today's stage, 7 riders formed an early break, but because so many people lost time yesterday, everybody wanted to bridge across. Therefore, the first group got brought back, and this kept happening throughout the day. Here is one break attempt going through the first sprint with Thomas Fothen in the foreground taking it.
Eventually, two big name riders went on the attack, Fuglsang (Leopard) and Le Mevel (Garmin) broke after the first categorised climb and we sent Grivko away to counter them instantly. His task was to sit with them but not contribute to ensure they would not stay away. Here Fuglsang leads them over the top of the second climb.

Then, Johnny "hard as nails" Hoogerland gave it one last go to form a break and he was followed immediately by Fuglsang again.

1st Jakob Fuglsang (Leopard - Trek)
2nd Johnny Hoogerland (Vacansoleil)
3rd Danilo Wyss (BMC Racing Team)
We took to the front as soon as the gap approached a dangerous distance, keeping the yellow jersey wearer safe from harm. We were then helped by Quickstep and Rabobank to bring them back.
As the sprint launched, Kittel was on Bozic's wheel but the battle for the stage win involved three riders. It was very close but Degenkolb just took it from Wyss and Steegmans. Kittel ended up in 7th which was not bad. Granqvist sprinted to a magnificent 13th after being pulled to the line by McEwen, then outsprinting him at the line!
Favorites: Brajkovic, Van Garderen, Joaquin Rodriguez
The big test of this tour with an uphill finish that will sort the men from the boys. We should struggle on this stage but with so many big names already having lost time on a much easier stage, can we get a good result?
Again, there were numerous breakaway attempts that were brought back and the first attack that worked was Nibali, all alone. He had lost eight minutes on Stage 1 and knew he had to try something.

At this point, Dan Martin and Pineau decided to attack from the peloton to try to bridge the huge gap. Pineau was just 10 seconds down on GC, so was a big danger. They eventually made it up to the front group with 20kms to go.
1st Daniel Martin (Garmin)
2nd Vincenzo Nibali (RadioShack)
3rd Ivan Santaromita (BMC Racing Team)
As soon as we hit the final climb, Spanish champion Rodriguez danced on the pedals and rode straight up to the original breakaway, who, unsurprisingly, could not stay with him for long.
Granqvist battled and battled but lost contact with the main group just 3kms from the summit. Such a shame but what a start to the tour it's been for him. And he managed to climb better than Arroyo! Not bad.
Only two Germans, Tony Martin and Gerdemann, had any sort of answer to Rodriguez on the climb and he took a comfortable victory. Meanwhile Kennaugh came home in the main group with the likes of Le Mevel, Nibali and Dan Martin to move himself up in to the top 10. Good ride by him.
In the overall classifications, Granqvist keeps the KOM jersey but will wear the points jersey tomorrow as he is second behind Rodriguez in that competition. Kennaugh comfortably takes the white jersey and should be able to hold on to that for the rest of the week. And, of course, Pete also moves in to the top 10 on GC, but can he stay there?

Very similar to Stage 2, this stage has a lump in the middle but it should still end in a sprint. We may go for the break again today as Kittel used a lot of energy yesterday, and will probably not be much use for the sprint.
At the morning briefing we decided to get somebody in the breakaway. As soon as we left the start town, Lloyd did just that and went into what was a group of 14. This did not last too long and they were all back in the peloton not long after the first sprint.
Soon after this, though, the BOTD did form and it included Dan Lloyd and seven other riders. The highest placed was Jonas Jorgensen(Saxo Bank) at 16 minutes so there was a possibility that this group would be allowed to stay away.
As Dan led the breakaway through the second sprint, the gap was still increasing and was now over 7 minutes. With a long way still to go, how much would the peloton give them?
Spoiler
1st Daniel Lloyd (Apple - Powerade)
2nd Michael Barry (Sky Pro Cycling)
3rd Jürgen Van De Walle (Omega Pharma)
On the one climb of the day, Dan was really struggling as Dyachenko(Astana) set a high pace but the group all stayed together. However the gap was now down to just 3 minutes and it looked like a bunch sprint with just a flat run in to come.
Spoiler
1st Alexsandr Dyachenko (Astana)
2nd Denis Kostyuk (Lampre)
3rd Michael Barry (Sky Pro Cycling)
And, indeed the break was caught with just 7km to go. A shame for Dan but he had nothing in the tank anyway and couldn't have won the stage.
Into the last 4kms and Kittel was sitting behind Kennaugh and Grivko and it looked like he had a good chance as the team gave him a great leadout but we were against Steegmans' Quickstep team.
But Steegmans' leadout got stronger and delivered him to the line ahead of Kittel. Marcel tried to follow Degenkolb but got blown away by him and the big German took his second stage victory, yet again, pipping Steegmans by inches. Kittel faded to 6th. The wrong German won again!

This 3 stage race on the island of Corsica kicked off today with a tough mountain stage finishing at the top of the Col de l'Ospedale. Team Apple-Powerade have sent a young squad which is led by Irishman Nico Roche. Here is the report of what happened:
"Our plan for this short tour is to try to get a top 10 on GC with Roche. Anything better is a bonus, so today was very important. The BOTD included 12 riders, most of them French, as you would expect. We were happy to sit in the peloton and look after Roche. Halfway through the stage, Soler attacked from the peloton and he easily rode up to the break, straight past them and on to a magnificent solo victory, whilst behind, strong attacks from Taaramae and Anton got them the other podium spots. Roche rode well but was isolated and had to ride by himself for the last 6 kilometeres. However, he did brilliantly and caught Robert Gesink on the line to claim 9th place. Soler has already won it unless he crashes on tomorrow's short, flat stage, while the best Roche can hope for is 7th. Satisfactory day."
