Stage 20: Sabadell (ITT)
We're still in yesterday's start- and finish-town, Sabadell. This 2nd flat timetrial (3rd with the prologue included) is not as long as the first and therefore not that difficult for weaker timetrialists. But we're already at the end of this 3rd week of Vuelta.. things won't become easier now. It's the last day for a possible GC-battle: this alone will make things interesting.

Stage 21: Sabadell - Barcelona
Third day in Sabadell: and now it's time to finish this Vuelta, as the riders will ride 30kms to Barcelona, where a final circuit (7 laps) in Barcelona will bring us the last stage-winner of this GT.. it's a flat and short stage and so it's up to the (remaining) sprinters again.

Thank you, Svam and baia! Glad you like both the profile and the presentation The profile is way more important, for sure, but as I spent "a few minutes" doing the presentation, some positive feedback is appreciated

Really great 'almost realistic' Vuelta variant, tsmoha! I really enjoyed playing it in my career.

Tired of playing Tour de San Luis early in the season.. all the times you start a new career.. climbing on narrow roads ? Here's your solution! Vuelta a Mendoza, Argentinia. It's not far away from San Luis, but there's better climbs and a bigger city, no more narrow roads and a beautiful lake.
Vuelta a Mendoza, 7 Stages
Mendoza is the capital city of Mendoza Province, in Argentina. It is located in the northern-central part of the province, in a region of foothills and high plains, on the eastern side of the Andes. The region around Greater Mendoza is the largest wine producing area in Latin America.
7 Stages, two summit finishes and one timetrial. The peloton will face the whole area around Mendoza: the mountains, the flat areas and the wine! It's a perfect preparation for a tough season.

Thanks, Pelli2 and baia! Glad you like it. Imo, the gameplay is better than in my San Luis-edition Currently working on a small, real race: Cycling Tour of Sibiu 2011, Romania. Should be finished soon!

And here's another race! This time, you could replace Brixia Tour (for example) It's an original race held in Romania since 2011: Sibiu Cycling Tour, Class 2.2:
Sibiu Cycling Tour, 5 Stages
The tour kicks off with a 10km-TTT, a first chance to gain some important seconds! The 2nd, flat stage is the only opportunity for the sprinters here, before the peloton will hit the first mountain-stage on third day. It's not the steepest climb, but it's long.. a short ITT in host-city Sibiu will probably lead to small gaps and so it's up to the final and toughest stage to bring the overall winner: a short stage, but a 20km-climb! Again, it's not the steepest climb you've ever seen. Due to it's length, it will lead to bigger gaps though.
The profiles:
Spoiler S1/ Poplaca - Sibiu (TTT)
S2/ Sibiu - Avrig
S3/ Medias - Paltinis
S4/ Sibiu (ITT)
S5/ Sibiu - Balea Lac

Thanks, baia!
You may have noticed, that I'm on a "stagemaking-run" Here's another race, made a few weeks ago. It hasn't been made yet (as far as I know), so it may be useful: Grand Prix la Marseillaise! It's the original route from 2011:
Grand Prix d’Ouverture La Marseillaise, Class 1.1

Just finished your Tour variant. Good work.
Would have wanted more stages for riders like Gilbert (since I have him on my team...). But it's good work. Ok profiles, no narrow roads with many turns etc.

Thanks for testing and the feedback, Johan92! It's always appreciated, especially from such well-known stagemakers Yeah, the lack of hilly/puncheur-stages is definitely true. It was my first GT-variant ever, so.. Imo, my Vuelta-variant is better (in terms of slopes and balancing of profiles, too).

Österreich-Rundfahrt (Tour of Austria) finished! It's the original route of 2011's edition:
Int. Österreich-Rundfahrt, 8 Stages
The famous Kitzbüheler Horn is waiting..
Welcome to Austria! Here's the 2011-edition of 2.HC's Internationale Österreich-Rundfahrt: starting with a rather easy stage (with two early climbs), the 2nd stage is already the toughest! A finish climb up the famous Kitzbüheler Horn (HC). Who's the best climber in the peloton? Here you will see! Two more hilly stages, with tough climbs, will most probably end up in bunch-sprints, but you never know.. then it's time for the sprinters, and the GC-favourites have to prove their timetrial-skills in a 30km, flat ITT on penultimate day!
The Profiles:
Spoiler S1: Dornbirn - Götzis
S2: Innsbruck - Kitzbüheler Horn
S3: Kitzbühel - Prägraten
S4: Matrei in Osttirol - St. Johann/Alpendorf
S5: St. Johann/Alpendorf - Schladming
S6: Hainburg - Bruck
S7: Podersdorf am Neusiedlersee (ITT)
S8: Podersdorf am Neusiedlersee - Wien

Nice race. Looking like an easier route than the Cyanide 2009? version with two MTF and lots of flat stages.
Looking forward to play this one later. |
