Having good fun with the game. Sure, there are some urgent fixes needed, but that doesn't take away the fact that this is still an entertaining game for cycling enthousiasts with a lot of tension.
Currently doing the etappe to Luz Ardiden and I'm about to start the final section, the climb to Luz Ardiden (probably this evening or tomorrow). I really wonder how the finale will unfold. The current race situation:
I'm playing with Lotto and had De Greef escape at the end of the first section. He only got Cavendish with him, which gave that last one the opportunity to close the gap with Freire for green at the intermediate sprint. Of course he had to let De Greef go at the first km of the first climb and eventually got caught by the remains of the peloton right before the start of the Tourmalet.
In the meanwhile De Greef built out a 10 minute lead. On the slopes of the Tourmalet Scarponi and Nibali escaped. At the top of the Tourmalet de bunch was greatly reduced to about 50 riders.
So at the start of the ending climb I have De Greef in front, with 7'20" ahead of Nibali/Scarponi and 9' on the remains of the bunch with all favorites. I'm really curious how this will end. Any predictions?
Well the come in fast on the final climb, not sure if you gona make it.
Finished the stage last night and...
De Greef won , with 23" spare on Nibali and 33" on Scarponi. 4th was Van den Broeck on 1'49" (I was controlling him) and the group of the favorites on 2'59". Another small group with Gesink finished at 3'09".
This was really a tense and fun stage
Well done ladd, i have the tendency to sprint to soon on flat stages. you?
The game is pretty damm fun, even sprints are nice, you have to position yourself well, Its a lot better then i expected. But its a complete different game then on pc.
People must not forget this when they buy it. |

Yes, same here. I think this is because the build up of energy needs to be fixed. In order to sprint decently, you first need to build up enough energy. But when you do that you ride too fast for the peloton and get in the lead too early.
I already put a note on the Cyanide forum that they need to fix this. You should be able to build up energy as fast as the AI. |

My game came today after Gamestation took their time, I decided to get it off Amazon, I have started a Tour de France after a few one off stages, I am Astana, hoping to win the Tour with Vinokourov, points with Davis, KOM with either Tiralongo or Di Gregorio and Best Young Rider with Kreuziger, the I get the trophy
First stage, finished 13th with Vino.
TT I dropped 3 riders and only just finished with Vaitkus, Vino and Krueziger, finishing over a min down.

Just did first stage with Liquigas (Sagan), Basso and Nibali both dropped in the end, lost more than 1 min on all other GC contenders because I forgot to tell them to protect me. Guess that's the only thing you can do if you don't want your top riders to lose time while not controlling them in flat stages. Happened before when I was controlling a sprinter in a flat stage and the peloton got split up in about 5 groups. Rather annoying, I think. |

Game told me that the save was corrupted once, so I just restarted and everything was fine. Apart from that and 2 or 3 freezes on mountain stages no problems so far. |

Does anyone have an idea of when the PS3 game will come to USA? My son has asked for it for his birthday and I still have not been able to find any news. |

Got my copy today from Amazon.co.uk. Great fun but frustrated whole sections of stages are simulated with no rider/player input... |

That's just how it is, otherwise each stage would last 6 hours like in real life. Although I do agree that there should be some way of controlling the team from the sim screen but that might come in a later version if this game is successful enough.

Finally got around to play my first stage. Went for one of the flat stages and thought that I'd get an easy victory with Cavendish.
I started way too late for the intermediate sprint and way too early for the final sprint, so that didn't end up very well (18th or something like that).
Couldn't quite get my team to work properly either. I asked them to relay during the last 10 km, but none of them ever showed up at the front. The effort was set to 80 for them, but that's perhaps not enough? |
