I really don't understand why they can't let go this, it really doesn't matter anymore if he doped a lot or just a bit
It does for several reasons:
a) he's profited financially and socially by selling himself as clean
b) the federal investigation means he could have committed a crime. That's worth investigating and finding the truth for
c) the truth always matters

Wouldn't you say they wrote the article for fame or money ?
No, if they wrote a document and released it to the public. Their version of events is there in black and white for us to check against the evidence, to see if it is likely true or not. If they go on 60 minutes, or any show renowned for distorting evidence, we can't be sure if the whole story is being told to us
Surely even if they just wrote it down, you can't be sure the whole story is being told.
Thats not the point. If he wrote down his version of events, and he is lying, then we will find that out pretty quickly. If he goes on 60 minutes, they can chop and change his interview into any form they want, they can add music and dramatic camera angles to turn it into more of a soap opera than an interview.
If he has the truth, he could have put it out in document form, had a press conference and let things go from there. But he choose to have an interview on a pathetic excuse of a TV show, sure i admit he is probably telling the truth (especially if he hasn't been paid), but i am disappointed it had to be released like that.
No court in the world would/or should take a 60 minutes interview seriously. If this accusation gets taken any further, he'll be forced to testify in other means. Maybe writing up his version of events and sending it to the UCI or something.

He has already done that!

Last summer, I received a subpoena to testify before a grand jury. Until that moment I walked into the courtroom, I hadn't told a soul. My testimony went on for six hours. For me, it was like the Hoover Dam breaking. I opened up; I told the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

Oh, makes sense now, i thought that was to do with another issue before. Ok, he has done things in the right order. Just hope thats the last silly TV interview he does! |

Meanwhile, that jealous glory hunter and obviously ready to invent anything to make some money that his talent and work couldn't bring him, has decided to give his Gold Medal from the 2004 OG ITT back, without waiting for the IOC investigation.
That actually deserves some respect. |

Haha, indeed. That's what I'm fearing, if they ever removed Armstrong's TDF success. What a victorious bunch of winners. Zülle, Ullrich, Beloki, Klöden, Basso. Bar Klöden (but for how long again ?), they've all been caught at some point of their careers... |

A report by "60 Minutes" says George Hincapie, a longtime member of Lance Armstrong's inner circle, has told federal authorities he saw the seven-time Tour de France winner use performance-enhancing drugs. |

Especially considering I thought they were friends, not enemies. (Like Floyd and Tyler)
But I guess now we know Lance treated everyone like shit, not just the media, and his "just a team-mate" team-mates.
Who's next to claim they saw him use EPO, Bruyneel?

Hincapie tweets:
I can confirm to you I never spoke with "60 Minutes." I have no idea where they got their information.
As I've said in the past, I continue to be disappointed that people are talking about the past in cycling instead of the future.
As for the substance of anything in the "60 Minutes" story, I cannot comment on anything relating to the ongoing investigation.
Seems like he is not yet willing to admit it anywhere other than in court, but note the lack of denial. He may not know how they got their information, but he isnt going to dispute it.

Apparently "60 Minutes" reported that he testified.
So no, he did not speak to "60 Minutes"
