We could also ignore the old promoting rules, and promote only teams who end up in a position which is a multiple of 5.
When rules are agreed before the season they should be followed unless they are clearly unfair.
When things are unclear, as they are in this case, they should be debated until there is a consensus. The current consensus is that almost everyone is voting in their own self-interest.
As I said earlier, my impression at the start of the season was that if I got lucky and promoted from lower than 4th, then I would have snuck through a goal cunningly. If that isn't the case then oh well, at least I'm in the pro tour
Also, I'm not sure who you are saying is greedy, both me and Kami have said that we will be happy just to promote, and won't be to disappointed if the ruling is not in our favour.

It's not at all in my interests in RJC - not one of my goals and I'd be delighted to promote. Just my entitled opinion. |

That'd stop this argument, and shoot you all in the faces for being unhappy with just being promoted. Greed is the downfall of man, and you're showing classic symptoms of it.
I would actually like that Idea... Being placed 11th in the CT shouldn't grant a promotion spot... 17th should be just as valid, as it is purely based on others misfortune.
Not for this season though...

Why is 17th in the CT just as valid as 11th in CT? Surely 11th in CT is the better team

I do want to point out that i'm not greedy in anyway. I just have my own opinion about inactive managers, which happens to clash with the promotion goal in general.
I also remember a discussion before the season about my promotion goal, where i answered that i picked it because it came closest to a top 5.
I would however, find it very annoying to be denied promotion just because it isn't in the first 4. Especially since nothing was mentioned anywhere before today.
But like i said: Promotion >>> goals.

Couple of inactive managers in game is unpleasant thing, but in fact we can do nothing with this fact. It´s the same like IRL. Some new people are coming , some other leaving. Regarding to Man-Game, I´m not familiar with the important fact (as I mentioned before without any response) that only some teams would benefit from disbanding inactive teams, while rest of teams wouldn´t . I think it is objective point of view and should be considering...
I want to say that everyone had chance to built his team at the beginning of season, when all teams were still alive, so please let´s stop playing with words and clarify that promotion means finishing in TOP4, TOP10 is TOP10 and so on, no matter how many inactive teams are in game. They will be disbanded in the end of season and newcomers will join... I´m sure we all like competition and that´s why we are part of Man-game. You see? GAME. Let´s enjoy this game without accusing of each other...

Not necessarily. And definately not necessarily next season... Do you think Auber in the PT is a better team than Lipton and Domina? They have been way more lucky, and they have probably had a manager with some fancier ideas onto how to maximize that exact team. Doesn't mean the team itself is stronger though.
But obviously the idea thought for this season is the best placed teams goes up. I can fully agree on that. Also for next season, but I think RJC EDIT: and Beagle have a fair point.

The entire point of a team is inclusive of the manager. In fact, if you had a bit of logic behind your pre-season prediction, you'd have factored that in. I am blessed with common-sense, and darn well ain't afraid to admit it.
And I think all my teams are better than all other teams. |

For me, the top 4 teams promote - therefore that's what you need to achieve your goal. It seems most agree with that.
If some of the teams finishing Top 4 are then disbanded the teams that finish below them are 'invited' to take their place in the PT. As rjc says it's not really being 'promoted'.
Agreed. |

I have no self-interest in the debate but would say the promotion goal would seem best carried out by the top 4 with the exception being 100% me finishing in the top 4, where 5th would be included.

Hehe I'll take that into consideration when I predict Wiggle to win next seasons PT

Back to the racing then
Excellent report there mb - full of twists and turns was a tough one to keep track of. I love those sudden fades riders have like Ponzi did- it is though they suddenly stop pedalling or something.
Benfica and Bacardi, seem to be the names missing from the leaderboard on this one. Monfort had a bit of an off day too attacking way too early for me. Oh and Ginanni sucks
Good to see the Russians go well - I doubt they will get much joy in the Italian hilly classics towards the end of the season so they could do with a boost here.

Ginanni sucks big time.
Should make a cheap and excellent helper next season though. |

With that profile and line-up, anything else would be a surprise.

What is his wage now? On paper he is better than both Sammy Sánchez and Diego Ulissi so wouldn't expect him to be cheap at all

Pendle: Like this race as it is near to Manchester (guessing it was designed by SN). Quite a nice area, is it near where they did the Commenwealth Games road race a few years back?
Anyway I may pop out to cheer rhe cyclists on so I could be one of the supporters by road side - I will be cheering on Naturalised Brit Chris Froome my predo for the day!

Im not sure that its the actual Pendle course in this version, but its some sort of British race thats been dubbed Tour of Pendle for the purposes of the Man Game. Would be nice to use proper British profiles if we switch to PCM10/11
