It should be noted that he was one of the most intriguing riders in U-23 last season. Because he was riding for a small team, he mostly did smaller races, so it was hard to know if his constant good results (he had the most wins of any U-23 with 14!) were because he did small races, or if he really was that good.
Because he had been a teammate of De Negro the previous season and De Negro was so much better, most teams thought Guardini can't be that good.
So, it was left to ISD to pick him up. Good for them
