@Daeni12
Thanks
I don`t have this problem with half pictures. But if anybody else experiences the same, just tell me.
This weekend was quite boring so I decided to post some more reports than usual. Wink

@FreitasPCM
Thanks. Hope so, too. I totally failed this stage. Normally I go on 87 and dot on the last climbs to stay in their group without a 190 pulse. But for no reason at all I put him on just 77% and he felt back ;( Unfortunately I couldn`t come back although the gap seemed to be quite small sometimes. Only good thing is that the next stage is a real mountain stage with 100% mountain stat, so some of the guys will have big problems Wink

Tirreno Adriatico - Stage 5
Chieti - Colmunaro

img2.imageshack.us/img2/4403/profiler.jpg
It`s the hardest stage in the 2011 Tirreno Adriatico. Today the real climber will fight for the overall and all the sprinters just need to reach the finish in the time limit.

img257.imageshack.us/img257/522/pcm0008.jpg
After 30km Vorganov (HTC), Ulissi (Lampre), Colli (Ceramica), Alvarez (Cafe), Van Avermaet (Omega), Pate (Garmin), Kadri (Ag2r), Kuschynski (Liquigas), Hushovd (RadioShack) and Jufre Pou (Astana) build the group of the day. Best placed rider is Ulissi with +10'25. We decided to go for a stage win out of a break.

img249.imageshack.us/img249/7236/pcm0009.jpg
Dario Cioni attacks at the half of the stage and will ride a 107km solo.

img168.imageshack.us/img168/5069/pcm0010u.jpg
84km -> 16'00
Now Saxobank and Quickstep are doing the pace for Cancellara and Cataldo.

img109.imageshack.us/img109/9241/pcm0013.jpg
The break splitted more and more. Pate is totally exhausted and almost falls from his bike climbing the mountains.

img51.imageshack.us/img51/2894/pcm0014m.jpg
The favourite`s group just overtakes him as Cunego, Pozzovivo and Kiryienka attack. Hersjedal, who becomes more and more in shape with every stage also increases his tempo.

img258.imageshack.us/img258/1864/pcm0015.jpg
6 riders were able to create a gap to the peloton.
Hesjedal, Contador, Cunego, Pozzovivo, Kiryienka and Cataldo.

img233.imageshack.us/img233/5544/pcm0016m.jpg
After getting rid of Jufre Pou and Vorganov at the 20km mark Alvarez is climbing the last little hill and will be the winner of this stage.

img264.imageshack.us/img264/2092/pcm0017.jpg
Without celebrating he is riding over the line and must be hold by his helper to stay on his bike and not falling. Totally out of power.
But it`s the biggest win for Cafè in their history. They showed a good performance all over the year and now they give themselves a present.
Everybody was surprised that they get a wildcard but obviously it was totally warrantable.

img836.imageshack.us/img836/1479/pcm0018r.jpg
In many small groups the next riders arrive the finish. Also Dario Cioni with a very good performance today. After riding 100km alone he was able to stay in the favourites group in the end and becomes 4th.
Hesjedal also arrived in the first group and wins many places today.

Did the break get 16 minutes advantage?! I have never got a breakaway getting that much time.

I have it quite often if the stage is long and all riders have 10min +

I had it in last years Giro and Tour, Vandevelde was 18min back and was 2nd on stage 17min before the peloton. So almost in the yellow jersey with him afterwards Wink
The same with Zabriskie. 14min before the peloton we reached the finish but all of us had 40min+ back.

On most normal stages there is never a bigger gap than 8-9min.

What are Cataldo's stats so far?

janne_837
Nicely done with Hesjedal, now 6th! And Cataldo leader now, it will be intersting whether he could hold it in the next stage.

roturn
The upper stats are now March 2011. The other are from January 2010.
Sorry. Forgot to make English language before the screenshot but I guess you already know where mountain, hill etc. are.

Great job with LLS at Paris-Nice. Hesjedal seems headed to a nice Top 10 in T-A too.

Loved the picture of Pate.

I didn`t really understand why Pate was exhausted so early. His endurance etc. are better than Alvarez but he was able to ride 50km longer. In the end I though he falls out of the limit with his 8km uphill Wink

Hesjedal started with something in his 60ies and is now at about 82. So he is becoming in a ~85-90 shape for MSR. Because of my own mistake I failed to be in front of some other guys like Kiryienka, Cancellara and Visconti ;(
My advantage was that almost every favourite crashed and Contador had the same problem than me Wink

Tirreno Adriatico - Stage 6
Montecosaro - Macerata

img80.imageshack.us/img80/9915/profilelk.jpg
A quite hilly stage with an uphill finish. In comparison to yesterday we expect a bigger group sprinting for the win. But many top10 contenders are very close so we can also expect attacks.
Hesjedal will just try to keep his 6th in the overall ranking.

img836.imageshack.us/img836/1574/pcm0001.jpg
After 15km Kessiakoff (Garmin), Anza (Ceramica) and Champion (Ag2r) are 1'30 in front of the peloton. Matthew Goss (HTC) is following them for half the race but couldn`t join us.

img28.imageshack.us/img28/3162/pcm0002x.jpg
Especially Quickstep and Lampre are doing the pace in the peloton. So our advantage was never higher than 4'30.
Cataldo and Cunego are still fighting for the overall.
In general this stage was very boring until the second last round.

img245.imageshack.us/img245/6227/pcm0005j.jpg
26km to the finish the first favourites are attacking. It`s Cataldo, Contador, Cunego, Visconti and Boasson Hagen. Also El Fares and Kolobnev are very active in the second half.

img209.imageshack.us/img209/3466/pcm0006j.jpg
We decided that this is too early and so Zabriskie is doing the pace behind. With a great effort he is bringing all favourites back in the peloton.

img139.imageshack.us/img139/6162/pcm0007s.jpg
On the 20km mark it`s Kessiakoff, who is attacking on the last finish cross. But the peloton is quite close now.
But at least he will wear the KoM jersey tomorrow now winning all 3 mountain sprints today.

img834.imageshack.us/img834/9324/pcm0008w.jpg
El Fares was able to join Kessiakoff but on the 14km mark the favourites caught us,

img808.imageshack.us/img808/7236/pcm0009.jpg
6.7km and again it`s Cataldo, who attacks. Normally he could wait for Cunego and just counter him, but obviously he feels very strong here.

img836.imageshack.us/img836/7236/pcm0010.jpg
Cunego follows him and a bit further behind also Hesjedal and Cancellara.

img508.imageshack.us/img508/1009/pcm0011y.jpg
But it is Cunego creating a gap and wins this stage. Hesjedal came in on the 20th with the same time than Cancellara as 2nd.
Now the time gap and bonus seconds are counted and in the end Cunego lost by just 1s to Cataldo. Hesjedal saved his 6th overall also Gerrans got some bonus points with his 3rd today. But Boasson Hagen has a very good chance to overtake him tomorrow.
Then it`s probably a sprinter`s stage again but you never know with these tiny time differences.

Cataldo had improved well, he would be a deserved winner. A 6th place is not bad as well.

Daeni12
Great win with LLS.And the 6 in overall is good too!Hope of a good result in MSR

Smowz
Yeah Paris Nice is always a nice one to win, particularly against a pretty good field. I look forward to seeing the MSR also, its a tough one to do under story conditions a truly unpredictable race.

What other one weekers is LLS looking at? possibly things like the Tour of Poland in the run up to the Vuelta?

Daeni12
1 second is very close..Grin

roturn
Hope for MSR, too. Farrar will probably fall back again but Hesjedal was 5th last year and with Vansummeren and Sanchez I have other options, too.
So let`s see what I reach. Will probably play/post tomorrow.

Daeni12

Tirreno Adriatico - Stage 7
Civitanova Marche - San Benedetto del Tronto

img259.imageshack.us/img259/1769/profilekg.jpg
This is the last stage today. Normally the overall should be certain now but there are several positions where 2 or more riders are fighting for.
The 2 closest in the top10 are probably Cataldo and Cunego for place 1 and Hesjedal and Hagen for the 6th as Hagen is supposed to be a good sprinter.

img811.imageshack.us/img811/9241/pcm0013.jpg
25km and the group stays. Mata (Caisse), Giordani (Cermacia), Ricci Bitti (ISD), Martinez (Euskaltel), Taborre (Androni), Kadri (Ag2r), Rocchetti (Miche), Pate (Garmin), Dyachenko (Astana), Sulzberger (FDJ)
We decided to send a guy in todays break as we hope that they can fight for the win. Not really to get the stage win but more for avoiding Hagen getting the bonus seconds.

img835.imageshack.us/img835/9025/pcm0014i.jpg
Quickstep is doing a good job today and so the advantage after the last climb is 6'00 and still 96km to go.

img828.imageshack.us/img828/1864/pcm0015.jpg
The group reaches the final circuit. The advantage is becoming smaller and smaller so probably this stage will be deecided by a sprint finish.

img232.imageshack.us/img232/6729/pcm0016j.jpg
62km -> 4'10.
The peloton is also in the circuit now. Liquigas for Bennati and HTC for Cavendish and Greipel are doing a very high pace. So many riders are already losing energy. Also Rojas has problems to survive in the first lines.

img204.imageshack.us/img204/2092/pcm0017.jpg
At the 18km mark they catch the group. Now the pace seems to be even higher.
Rojas has a good position of Petacchi`s wheel but he is quite out of power now.

img714.imageshack.us/img714/1404/pcm0018.jpg
But the fastest was McEwen in the end. He was ahead of Greipel and Petacchi. Rojas couldn`t even get a top20 today. This Tirreno wasn`t very successful for him. But at least Hesjedal defended his 6th overall.

img442.imageshack.us/img442/6619/pcm0001n.jpg
For Cataldo it`s his biggest win in his career so far. He was one of the strongest riders in the early season but this result here crowns his performance.

img146.imageshack.us/img146/2829/pcm0002q.jpg
Kessiakoff wins the KoM jersey for our team. A good result for him. We will see him again later this month in the Volta a Catalunya as team leader for Garmin.
