"A father – I don't mind saying who it was, Johny Schleck – came to me a few years ago, soon after I was elected," recalls Pat McQuaid. "He asked me whether he should he leave his two sons in the sport or get them out now. I knew why he was asking me the question, so I said: 'tell him to leave them in the sport because this fight's going to continue against doping. They will have a fair chance to perform.'"

UCI decided that they havent ruined the Olympic Track Cycling enough.
Now firstly, Ill preface this by saying that in most other sports, countries are allowed to enter 3 contestants per event. But for Track Cycling, the maximum had been 2.
And now the maximum is 1. Ridiculous decision, and meaning that the Olympics will no longer be the most competitive Track Cycling event - it will have weaker fields than the World Championships

unlike killing off track endurance, i can se the logic in this. They're hoping that this'll give more riders from more countries the chance to compete at the olympics, which will hopefully increase exposure in smaller nations, and by exposing more countries to world class competition, the field gets evened out somewhat and countries like australia, gb and france no longer dominate the boards.
that's what they're hoping, anyway. either that, or it'll make track cycling at the olympics an absolute farce and kill it off completely.
i'm guessing it'll do the latter. |

It will mean a numer of the best cyclists miss out, at the expense of those from smaller countries, who will make no impact. And therefore, some more one sided contests up until the final

Damiano Cunego says a first time doping suspension should be a lifetime ban, cheaters shouldn't be allowed to come back.
As far as I know, that's the first time a rider actually says that. Nice to hear.

Agreement is the only thing which his statement diserves

With a statement like that I can draw 3 possible conclusions: a) He's riding clean, b) He's extremely confident in his doping methods, c) He's stupid.
In any case it's really nice to see someone say things like that, I just hope it's not "empty" words. |

He tried to help her but he couldn`t because of his injury.

Not amused, he gets 6 months and his excuse is a 'contaminated sports drink'
