I'm looking for an internet site/database that shows all riders of the 1992 cycling season. I would like to replace the names of the new talents to names of riders that extually were signed in the 1992 season by the Hannes convertor. Names as Bettini, Pantani and such sound much better than made up names by the computer. Does anybody have a suggestion?

Actually, Pantani, Armstrong, Ullrich, Bartoli et al. is in the DB as free agents. Just search for young riders.
I know, but in about 5 years in the game a lot of great riders will have computer generated names. I don't like that. It is one of the reasons that I usually quit a game. An if Armstrong, for example, is not signed, I will knock a talent of Motorola out of the game and replace him by Armstrong for example. It is going to be a lot of work, but I think eventually it will be worth it...
Half of the talents now are called Abledon (or something like that). Seriously. That will be really annoying of a couple of them grows out to be great riders.

I´m really disppointed with Andy Hampsten´s performance at Giro though
I'm also surprised about his bad performance. But I don't mind it. Cyclist that perform way under their expectations is actually very realistic. Like Evans and Sastre in the last Tour. But I expect Hampsten to do better in the Tour or Vuelta. I expect that he rides at least one of those. Nevertheless, he is still 11th in the general standings and is not too far from the podium yet. And there are lots of mountains to come...
160 km: A couple of riders takes off directly from the start, hoping to avoid a mass sprint today as well.
140 km: A leading group of thirteen riders has been formed. Behind them Hamburger is in the chase.
E1: Baguet (Lotto), Holm (Histor), Vichot (Castorama), Lopez Mejia (Gaseosas), Garel (RMO), Ambite (Amaya), Van Vooren (Tulip), Vairetti (Selle Italia), Lavainne (Castorama), Durst (PDM), Oliveira (CLAS), Giannelli (Carrera) and Bennington (Z).
E2 at 32”: Hamburger (TVM). Meyvisch (Carrera) and Walzer (PDM) are trying to make the jump.
P at 40”: 171 riders.
100 km: Several attacks in the leading group have followed rapidly. Consequently, the attackers have only a marginal lead on the pack.
E1: Lopez Mejia (Gaseosas), Giannelli (Carrera), Garel (RMO), Durst (PDM), Hamburger (TVM), Ambite (Amaya), Baguet (Lotto), Holm (Histor), Vairetti (Selle Italia), Prado (CLAS), Remels (Tulip), Bennington (Z) and Thueux (Castorama)
P at 3’10”: 172 riders.
75 km: The leaders have increased the gap with the pack to 6’02”. There are starting the climb of a small hill that does not count for the mountain jersey classification.
50 km: The leaders have a pretty large gap with the pack. They will have to react fast otherwise the leading group is going to stay away again.
E1: Durst (PDM), Giannelli (Carrera), Hamburger (TVM), Holm (Histor), Baguet (Lotto), Ambite (Amaya), Vairetti (Selle Italia), Garel (RMO) and Remels (Tulip).
E2 at 1’43”: Lopez Mejia (Gaseosas).
P at 6’36”: 173 riders.
33 km: Garel takes the intermediate sprint in Scandicci. The pack is not reacting yet and it seems like the leading group is going to stay away again. Can Giannelli do it again?
13 km: After an attack of Prado (CLAS) and the resulting disorganization of the leading group, Giannelli makes another successful breakaway attempt and is leading alone with only a few kilometers to go. Thueux is in pursuit.
E1: Giannelli (Carrera).
E2 at 8”: Thueux (Castorama).
E3 at 22”: Ambite (Amaya), Vairetti (Selle Italia), Garel (RMO), Bennington (Z), Baguet (Lotto), Hamburger (TVM), Durst (PDM), Holm (Histor), Remels (Tulip) and Prado (CLAS).
E4 at 4’26”: Lopez Mejia (Gaseosas).
P at 5’06”: 172 riders.
5 km: Lots of riders have been fallen causing a large pile up and resulting that the pack splits in two. Romero, Ruiz Cabestany, Gonzalez Callego and Millar are amongst the losers. Also a group of sprinters breaks with the peleton and take back a couple of seconds on Chioccioli.
0 km: Giannelli has been caught by some of his fellow attackers, but they could not prevent that the Italian scores his second victory in a row

The individual time trial was going to be a very exciting one, since Giovannetti is only a minute behind Chioccioli and is considered to be a better time trial specialist. And what an exciting race it became. Giovannetti was slower then Chioccioli during at all intermediate timers, but proved to be exactly 59" faster then the Chioccioli. Both rides now have after more than 44 hours of cycling the exact same time. Giovannetti was handed over the pink jersey because of his better finishes.
Other riders that did well and made up some places in the general standings are Elli,
Sierra,
Hampsten and Kelly.
Allan Peiper was in the leading position for a long time but also he eventually had to give up the lead to Giovannetti, who scored another victory for the Gatorade team.

A lot of breakaway wins you got there
Hope you can still win
This is indeed a bad giro for sprinters like Fidanza and Cipollini.
Winning will be really touch. Chioccioli is so much better in the mountais than Giovannetti (82 vs 78). Everytime I have a small gap with him he easily closes it without any trouble and counters on top of it. I think I can get about 2'00" back in the last ITT, but with the three mountain stages that are still to come, I'm afraid I will need to make up more time. Hopefully, I can at least win the sprinters jersey and secure 2nd place in the GC. That would be more than I had hoped for from the beginning.
