I quote Velonews:
While not listed as a favorite, the seven-time Tour de France winner can rarely be ruled out as a contender when he toes the line in any race.
Really Velonews? MSR for Lance? Maybe pre-cancer, but even in his most doped up days of the early 2000's he could never win MSR.
edit: I should note Velonews was saying that although he is backing out, he would have had a shot.
Chill, chill. Consider the source. VeloNews was, is and will always be on LA's jock. Don't get too worked up over it. |

Zomegnan says he's not inviting Radioshack to the Giro. "Better squads" will be invited.
He also said about Armstrong that "there comes a certain age where your legs get shorter and your tongue longer"
Riccò also won't be invited.

Likely, but i don't think Zomegan is a big fan of Armstrong after the Milan stage last year.

I believe the quote from Zomegnan was taken from a year ago immediately following the Milan stage. Another note: people forget that Armstrong did not start the protest of the stage but yet he is blamed for it.
Do you think that Armstrong pulled out of MSR because he knew that the Shack would not be invited to the Giro? Hmmm maybe he was faking the tummy ache. |

Did Shack even want to be in the Giro? Theyll be too obsessed with the Tour of California..

I'm pretty sure that Lance said that they probably wouldn't be going to the Giro - which he has probably told Zomegnan, and which is probably the cause of his reaction |

Teams for the Giro:
Acqua&Sapone, Ag2r-La Mondiale, Androni-Diquigiovanni, Astana, Bbox Bouygues Telecom, BMC Racing, Caisse d'Epargne, Cervélo, Colnago-Csf Inox, Cofidis-Le Credit en Ligne, Footon-Servetto, Garmin-Transitions, Lampre Farnese, Liquigas-Doimo, Omega Pharma-Lotto, Quick Step, Rabobank, Team Sky, Team HTC-Columbia, Team Katusha, Team Milram and Team Saxo Bank.
Left out are: Carmiooro-NGC, Flaminia, ISD-Neri, De Rosa-Stac Plastic, Skil-Shimano y Vacansoleil.
So why Bouygues and Cofidis now since they're not even PT?

The question is why italian team ISD is out, but french teams are there?

But...but...but ISD....but Rujano. And Mosquera.
This makes me feel sad
The Giro has just lost A LOT of interest. And it's unabashedly my favourite race of the season. This is very bad.

Cofidis (as well as Footon and BBox) are invited due to the agreement in place between teams that means they're invited as long as they want to be.
And what's so strange about BBox being invited? They have very good riders, they liven up any race they're in and they ride clean. At least two of those things are facts that most aren't anywhere close to doing.

No Rujano. Zomegnan has ruined the Giro for me. I'm contemplating skipping it alltogether |

Exactly, would you rather see Mousquera take 7th or see Voeckler make crazy attacks on 6 or 7 stages. |

I think this year Bbox and Cofidis could be left out of the Giro. Not because of the same argument that comes along every year, that they just enter brekaways and don't have GC riders, but because De Rosa and especially ISD would fit much better...

Tbh i'd rather see Mosquera or Rujano make crazy attacks during 6 or 7 stages. But Voeckler could also make some stages interesting yes. |

Mosquera or Rujano would make exciting stages exciting, whereas Voeckler and Duque make boring stages exciting.
It may just be me, but I prefer the latter. |

Cofifis and especially Bbox make races a lot more interesting in my opinion. Carmiooro-NGC and Flaminia had worse chances because of Ricco and Sella. Zomegnan trys to get an anti doping line in his race. But I am surprised that ISD isn`t part of because they got Rujano and did a great job at MSR. Vacansoleil and Skil probably set their priority on the Tour.

Rujano
I don't care about Mosquera, 'cause he'll be in la Vuelta for sure, but I wanted to see Rujano there. |
