Sastre finally will ride the Tour. He'll decide if he'll ride the Giro or the Vuelta once he sees the Vuelta's route. |

If Hondo has got his facts right he will be at the tour.
I don't know about the agreement Footon has with ASO, but as Hondo said ASO will most likely lose in CAS if they decide to not invite them because of him, as Rasmussen has served his penalty.

Surely they won't though. That would just loose all public support for the team "Oh look, theres Footon, they cried to CAS and got into the tour waa waa waa"

Footon has already done that. It was the CAS who invited them to the Vuelta, not Unipublic. That's why there were 21 teams in the Vuelta.

Yep, they have already done it and won. But still im not sure if they actually will sign Rasmussen.
On a sporting level it would be a fantastic move, but on the other hand, that team should't really sign anyone who's had a past with doping. |

Well, as long as they have Contador, Specialized can benefit quite a lot from having the best Grand Tour rider on the team. |

Correct me if i'm wrong but didn't most PT teams sign a voluntary agreement that they wouldn't sign anyone comming off a ban for 2 years.
It's been broken before Basso ---> Liquigas etc.
(You can't apply this to vino though, techincally speaking Astana is his team)

The first one to break the ethical charter was actually Bruyneel by signing Basso. Which got every other manager very mad and very much against Discovery.

Kohl will open Vienna's largest bike shop.
Not really interesting news, but since Kohl's looking like Shrek, I hope that he'll stay in his office...
Oh, and on the Kohl subject, Matschiner auctioned off one of Kohl's mountain classification jerseys with his autograph. Matschiner got ... 71 euro! |

Baldato joins BMC as DS.
Lars Michaelsen, DS of Saxo Bank, has been fired. Reasons are unknown.
Austria is likely to impose a new law, saying that you will receive a jail sentence of 10 years if you're convicted for using doping products. |

How is that possible? Overdoing a punishment for an illegal act. The fact it's illegal means you shouldn't do it. The fact that some do means they should get an equal punishment. There would be a good logical path to saying that those who dope tarnish the entire sport, and so I'd say a 10 year sentance is quite underdoing it. But that's just me, someone who one day would quite like to see some clean riders. |

10 years.. yikes, thats alot
But, i agree with it, 10 years long time, surely thats a deterrent? Let's hope so, i'd doubt it.

I guess Kohl is the guy who has proposed that law. |

At first, when I read the Crue's post I thought that 10 years was too much time for "only" cheating in the sport. However, when a crime is so extended and, which is worse, accepted within a certain group of the society (elite sportsmen) I think that you have to exaggerate a little the sanction to create a deterrent. It's ok for me. |

So you will get 10 years in jail but at the same time only suspended 2-4 years from cycling. Where is the logic in that.

Rasmussen's former team () Tecos Trek will disband after 54 years with a cycling team.
Contentpolis-Ampo, which is likely to be named Murcia-Ampo in 2010, deny having financial problems and say that they will definitely be riding in 2010. |
