Personally, I don't think your sexuality is a choice. At childhood age when you find out what you are attracted to, you don't make a rational decision. At that age I don't think you're even able to realize what sexuality is, you just experience feelings and go with them.

So for me homosexuality should be treated the same as heterosexuality: same rights (marriage, adoption, etc.) and same respect.

What you guys are referring to about unwanted displays of (homo)sexuality I think is twofold. On one hand, I can understand what they're trying to achieve: social emancipation and acceptance. Even when you have the same rights, if you're still disciminated against that's a bad thing, and you need things like manifestations and parades to try and get accepted, instead of being silently ignored and discriminated.

On the other hand, I do also agree that sometimes these displays just do more damage than good, when they turn into tasteless displays. A couple of men in speedos is fine, women in bikini's would be accepted too. But if those men start openly groping and deep throat kissing each other, we cross a line, because that's unacceptable in public no matter if it's two men, women, or a heterosexual couple.

Look, i was born with never ending taste to smoke mary jane, why i am not allowed to do that publicly and without fear that i will be sentenced. I am not doing any harm to anyone with it. You see? Many people wnat mayn things to be seen as standard and acceptable, Does that mean i should expect that to be heard and made a law??

Although mary jane is the funniest of all terms for it, I kinda think you should be allowed to.

@Avin Exactly, there's no point in that! If you want to be treated normally, then act like it! Everyone has the right to dress themselves the way they want, and I'm fine with that, but there's some sort of "border" where you just go too far when you cross it...

@wackojackohighcliffe Maybe I expressed myself in a wrong way. It's not how they do it, it's WHY they do it. That is what bothers me.

That's how every single argument goes in these topics. People who actually take part in the conversation only tend to do so because they've already formed viewpoints.

I dont agree with it, as i know i am able to change my views thanks to discussion (more likely in personal discussion rather than internet of course).

Fruitless marriages happen of course , but lots of them have medical background. Also sometimes it is better to not bring a child to this world, when people think they would not be able to secure its life (actually more people should be thinking about it and not have 10 children because they can).

I am sorry if you find my message vulgar, but it's just like it is.

You're born. Man and a woman made you. Your sex was decided by either God or nature, whatever you do believe in. You are a male. You have the penis. It's supposed to go into vagina and it's NOT supposed to go in men asshole. Simple as that. Got it?

Tell me now, how on earth is it normal to be gay? It's not the normal nature circle. I find (most of) gay people the people who wants some attention. You just can't walk in lycra pants, fuck men, make up and pretend to be a man. It's not going like that.

Well, when that day comes...

I changed my opinion on doping thanks to internet discussions during last 10 years and who knows, maybe i will change my opinion (ehich is not a die hard one to be honest) on gay adoptions in the future thanks to your and others views. I dont see it as side/clothes changing, but infuencing my view, that is never bad and we develop thanks to that as persons. Wink

In the Netherlands smoking mary jane is completely legal mate Wink

(and I am glad that it is, because even though I don't do mariuhana, I don't think it's bad enough to completely ban it)

The only thing that is not here allowed is smoking it in public, for the sake of public order. But the same thing goes for alcohol here (consumption not allowed in public, as in, on the street), for the same reason. And so is sexual undecency in public here, for the same reason.

So basically the law here lets people do what they want, as long as they don't bother others with it in public in any way.

So when did you choose to be straight? Why don't you just simply start being gay right now since you can choose willy-nilly?

Marriage is supposed to be place to start a family (which is done by process of baby being born, that is how we survive as a human specie in the end).

So should we outlaw marriages between couples where one is infertile? What about people who don't wish to have kids? That's not medicinal, that's a choice. Therefor they shouldn't be allowed to marry?

Two homosexuals with steady jobs, who live in a nice, quiet suburdan neighbourhood shouldn't be allowed to marry, but two drug addicts living in a trailer park should.

I am open for new ideas, but I've yet to see an argument against gay (human) rights that naturally shouldn't exclude a whole bunch of other people aswell.

You aren't talking about gay guys. You are talking about the minority who makes Liberace look like a Chuck Norris. You can't base your idea of an entire group of people due to what a few others are doing.

Besides, many gay people are wishing for those parades to be toned down, atleast that's what some people have told me. If you believe all gay guys dress in lycra and go around singing showtunes and "yoohoo!" then I think you need to see the world for what it is...

Also, that lycra-part is pretty rich coming from someone who regularly watches 200 fit guys wearing lycra with nothing but an inch of padding to protect them from a sharp metal bar just waiting pluck their flower Wink

It it just like it is, yes.

Have you ever considered that the people walking round in lycra pants [why that's so offensive to you, you'd probably have to delve deep into that repressed subconscious] are not representative of all gay people but they're just noticeably camp. Most gay people dress similarly to you or I [maybe not you, you might not dress normal] and are similar in nearly all ways apart from who they sleep with. Most gay people I know aren't in the least bit camp, provocative or ostentatious, I only noticed when they told me or they went home and banged a dude. Same with lesbians I know, they're not all butch feminists with short haircuts, some are real losses to the heterosexual world. It's not this shameful grab for attention you seem to think it is. And how can it be so wrong if it feels so right?

Going off-topic here but who cares!

Amsterdam is overrated in my opinion. Most people come for the weed, the canals and the prostitutes but the fact is we have all three of those everywhere in the Netherlands Pfft Okay, not to such an extent as Amsterdam, but still.

F.e. my hometown of Dordrecht (located on an island in between rivers) also has a lovely historical centre with canals, great nature, good night life (if you like live music and cafés). But it's there's way less crime, and prices are cheaper because it isn't a tourist hotspot.

If you ever go to Dordrecht or Rotterdam and want a tour from a PCM-Daily member, send me a PM Pfft

You seem to forget that your sexuality is genetically decided. It's not a choice to be homosexual. If people have been created to like someone of the same sexe, then let them live like they have been created.

Sexual attraction is most certainly not genetic. What is sexual/attractive is a social construct and has fluctuated throughout human history and evolution. It's the basis of the Oedipus Complex and a lot of Freudian theory

There are clear reasons why cyclist are wearing "lycra" shorts. It's aerodynamic, it feels more comfortable while riding the bike and stuff like that. So, that's not a valid argument.

I may have the wrong experssion, as there aren't really many gay here except for Belgrade (not any in my 35k town I think) and I didn't see many either when I travelled, so I may be wrong.

I really don't have anything against gay, but my personal opinion is that it just isn't normal to sleep with a man. I'd however like to meet one smart, intelligent, educated gay to have talk with him, just to see what's his perspective and how he sees the world and what's his general opinion on this topic.

If the gay population in your countries doesn't constantly talk about parades, aren't acting like women, aren't making (alot of) problems, aren't intruding themselves constantly, aren't talking about their rights every week on most popular TVs, then I think our gays has some serious problems.

And no Selwink, it isn't like that. It's what you choose to be, not what's genetically decided. If you're a man, it's genetically decided for you to be a man and like a women. Even if they're not created to like someone of the same sex, we let them live their lifes. But firstly, they should leave us (straight, normal people), as they're all around medias talking about their rights and crap like that. Fuck whoever you want, I don't care. Just leave me alone, please.
