Well yeah, Cunego actually better on longer climbs than on shorter ones. That proves the point I will always sustain: Cunego doesn't sucks particularly on longer climbs. Je just sucks on every climb, whether it's a 1 km hill or a 30 km mountain, when in sucky form. Like: Tour de France 2008, Giro D'Italia 2009, Volta a Portugal 2009, etc. |

Fantastic stage as always.
Nuno Ribeiro deserves that jersey better than anyone.
On the other hand Cabreira did his part today you have to give him the credit for his attack even though his gamble didn't work out as he wanted.
Palmeiras has shown they have the best team in the race, the thing is nobody seems to be able to handle Ribeiro in the mountains.
And what about Zaballa? I'm surprised nobody reacted to his incident...

Lance Armstrong wins Leadville 100 Mountain Bike Race in record time. Dave Wiens was still on course last update. He had won the race the 6 previous times. |

Wow i guess Cunego did ok.. at least he beat Sinkevitz...
Lost more time on the short climb the other day then on this beast xD
Can't wait to see how he rides the vuelta... Should be good enough for a breakway win in the mid mountains...
I guess it was a good stage??

Cunego was doing good until the main shake by Cabreira. But even though he lost contact with the favourites he did better than expected and maintained a good pace which granted him the stage's 10th place.

Zaballa was in the morning break along with other KoM contenders. In the penultimate KoM sprint (which was suposed to define the final standings in this classification) C.Zaballa and N.Rocha fought hardly for the last points, in a very physical sprint. The portuguese was trying to protect S.Sousa's (his team mate) lead
Then they had a verbal fight and later the spaniard hit the portuguese with a bottle in the face! A commissar had to yell at them from his car for them to stop fighting.
I leave you with the KoM final standings :
1º 15 RIBEIRO, Nuno POR LIBERTY SEGUROS 41 P.
2º 35 SOUSA, Sergio POR MADEINOX BOAVISTA 37 P.
3º 22 ZABALLA, Constantino ESP L.A. - ROTA DOS MOV 35 P.
4º 46 OLIVEIRA, Helder POR BARBOT-SIPER 33 P.
5º 99 CHUZHDA, Oleg UKR CONTENTPOLIS-AMPO 29 P.
6º 1 BLANCO, David ESP PALMEIRAS RESORT-PRI 26 P.
7º 138 MARES, Martin CZE PSK WHIRLPOOL-AUTHOR 26 P.
8º 52 JIMENEZ, Eladio ESP C.C.LOULÉ- LOULETANO 25 P.
9º 13 PLAZA, Ruben ESP LIBERTY SEGUROS 25 P.
10º 51 CABREIRA, Joäo POR C.C.LOULÉ- LOULETANO 22 P.

Now to some interesting stuff (something that has Matti Breschel in it). Bjarne Riis says that the team will be working for Matti in Vattenfall tomorrow.
Oh I can't wait to see Breschel walking all up and down Boasson Hagen

Matti will get a top 10 in Vattenfall, in a bunch sprint he could pull out a top 10, he can win in a smaller group (30-40 guys) and he can go solo.

Why watch a game from yesterday?
Sergio De Lis and Yuri Krivstov are about 2 minutes ahead of the peloton. |

Because I like football so I tend to watch dozens of games per week.
Anyway, situation seems normal, I guess. Break going, will be caught later.
I guess the question is: can any late attackers avoid a sprint?

Saxo constantly attacking to shed sprinters so that Breschel can have a better chance.
