So, we've all heard this before, but this time, he's more precise. Michael Rasmussen expects to sign a new contract before the 31st of October. His debut for the new team will be the Ruta del Sol in February.
"The wage is far from what I earned before, but it won't be like starting all over again", Rasmussen says. |

So the chicken (again) has an offer eh? Might he have finally signed with Contenpolis? |

Isn't it his fifth contract he signed this year? |

This is quoted for eternity.
Also, Rasmussen. Im one of his biggest apologists, but even im getting a bit... not caring when it comes to him shouting "This time i got a contract for sure!"... only with more potato-in-the-mouth accent.
Then again, 5th times the lucky charm eh?

Riis says Saxo won't sign anyone else. That shows just how bad their financial problems are.
Also says if they don't get a new co-sponsor before the Tour starts, they won't be able to renew with their big stars whose contracts are expiring.
Finally he says he's interested in a few riders, but doesn't have any more money, and they naturally won't ride for free.

And to isso's post, you can add a remarkable quote from El Pais today: "I believe I can win the 2010 Tour. It requires a better team, and I need to improve my climbing"
- Andy Schleck.
Bye, bye, mr. Schleck. |

Bye, bye, mr. Schleck.
I thought he said he needed a strong team, not a stronger one. The things you normally say to imply the importance of having a good team around, not as to suggest you are leaving.
Edit: "Necesito un equipo fuerte y mejorar en las subidas, ya que en la montaña es donde se pueden ceder los cinco minutos que hacen perder el Tour." El País

That would be incredible stupid to say something like that. I'm quite sure that something has been lost in translation or he's been misunderstood.
Cyclingnews has this quote from the same interview “I need a strong team and to improve on the climbs, because the mountain is where you can lose the Tour within five minutes.”. |

If so, I'm sorry about that. The Danish translation of the quote (at a Danish cycling website) says "stronger". |

He says literally that you need a strong team to win the Tour, so the danish translation was wrong Crue. But still, if the financial problems of Saxo Bank go on, he may left anyway, because his contract ends in 2010, doesn't it? |

Oops, sorry. Clearly he comes from Xacobeo .....who, by the way will have a very small squad last year with quite a few people leaving.
Including David Herrero!

According to Het Laatste Nieuws, Cavendish has already signed a contract with Team Sky, 'active' from the 2011 season. |
