If we had to think carefully about never offending a Christian - or anyone else for that matter - you'd never really be able to say anything
Besides, I agree with Ruben. But based on my previous comments about religion, that can't really come as a surprise. |

Sorry, but I just felt that was a little bit uneccessary. I just get annoyed sometimes when people don't appreciate that actually what they've said could be insulting to others and don't take into consideration that actually other people have different viewpoints to them.
I take your point CrueTrue about it being difficult not to offend anyone these days, but that doesn't mean people shouldn't make a bit more of an effort.
Anyway, these debates are pointless really. |

Why are they never right, because they believe in god.
That's quite offensive you know. I'm a Christian and that kind of thing doesn't offend me because I'm used to it, but all the same you shouldn't really be saying things like that, even if it was partly a joke, as you don't know who you might offend. It's really ignorant. As Crue already said, you guys are always offended by something.
Same with the jews, the muslims, etc... All this god worshipping never brought any good on earth. If it was my choice, I would ban all that nonsense a long time ago. And I know how you feel about it, I have strong cathatolic believers as family in America, but I say the same to them as I say to you. |

i agree entirely, its like that london bus thing
the british humanist association payed for some adverts saying 'there probably is no god. stop worrying and enjoy your life'. a perfectly reasonable comment. in response some christian organisations payed for adverts saying 'there definitely is a god'. ridiculous

The thing I found interesting about that was they used the word 'probably'. They didn't come out and say "There IS no God" so it can hardly be seen as insulting or disrespectful. |

Well, science will - probably - never say that anything is definitive. Science is open to 'changes', open to new input (unlike religion). New discoveries will undoubtedly lead to old discoveries being false.
The only thing I didn't like about the campaign was the use of "God". Why not "Gods"? |

The Christians think exactly the same about protestants, jews, etc...

I just think it's sad when parents "educate" their children into believing their religion. God damit let them choose themselves!

Not that it makes much of a difference. Allergy medicine tends to make you sleepy too. |

In fact, christian authorities loved the campaign and publicly praised it several times because it "drew attention to religion".

It happens all the time. Its kinda like taking a fertility-boosting pill when you really wanted your birth control pills... *unenthusiastic drumroll*

There was no sarcasm in my post. They actually lauded the campaign.

Waghlon's post was directed at me and Doddy, I think -- about taking the wrong pills. |

I don't care. I want an excuse to pick on Waghlon.
