Went to watch Everton last night and all i can say is ''We were robbed'' by a set of officials who just didn't have a clue what they were doing
A perfectly good goal ruled offside when it wasn't and a ball that clearly crossed the line and was deemed not to
Goal line Technology is needed urgently
And officials should be demoted for having shit games
Rant Over
For a neutral viewer it was a fantastic game. SO MUCH ACTION!

It was a great game to watch, yes, but it's never fun to see it being decided by the referees. |

I listened to it on the radio and have seen the incidents.
As a Newcastle fan I'd just like to say that Everton were robbed. They scored 2 perfectly good goals in addition to the 2 that were given.
I also think that having 2 mascots, one in red and one in blue, with the numbers 9 and 6 on their shirts was terrific. Steven Gerrard praised the whole of Liverpool, red and blue, on Saturday and he was right. I'm not sure you'd get that same solidarity in other footballing cities in England. |

Football is dumb on the rules side.. I mean the IFAB are the only ones who can decide to change the rules with maybe just football old romantics who can decide..
Goal line technology is needed and they should normally go further with video reviewing offside positions like a challenge in tennis.
When a goal is scored and the opponents think it was offside, they should let the refs check it like at ice hockey. When the goal was good ok when not it shouldn't count.
When the ref says offside and it wasn't they should hand over a free kick from the position.
But they say it takes too long to have a look at these stuff but it's just nonsense..
Also the argument "football would lose something if you can't discuss about these stuff" yes like at ice hockey, no one watches it because of these technology.. They are talking about the game and not about false ruling like at football

I agree on the goal side. That the teams should be able to challenge it.
But I don`t like the 2nd part with challenging offside. This is a thing that is done correct in 99% of all cases. And if you always challenge it this would suck imo.
So best solution would be the goal line technology, then you wouldn`t need to challenge anything. |

solano - Yeah, it was nice to see this
As for the offside ruling, they should take a leaf out of the Rugby Union rules, it would only take about 30 seconds to refer it to an official upstairs

I am not going to rage about United's privileges with referees in this league any more ( and not by Liverpool game, wchich were both right decisions imo )
Villa's playing City in Cup today.. hopefully we won't freaking loose too much.. a win would be a dream, so finger's crossed.

You beauty Happiest day as Villa fan for a long time
2-4 win away at Ethiad - awesome, plus they played quite a decent side too.
In Lambert we trust ! The re-building of Villa is on the right track

Yeah, Nice win for the Villa
Just goes to show that all the money in the world doesn't guarantee that you will win every time |

A pleasure for me to hear that you agree with: Leeds was the best team last night
And I agree with you. Leeds was the best team in the first 80 minutes or so. Until Distin scored. Then Everton smelled victory, but couldn't find the way to a goal. It wasn't the finest game, but Leeds fought their way to victory.
So as said I'm as happy as you can get.
Also (as said) it was a nice victory for Villa. Congrats with that Alakagom!

It's not about it taking too long, it's about limiting the chances allowed. I would be in full support if they only permitted 2 incorrect challenges per game, otherwise teams would just timewaste whenever they were under pressure, by challenging stupid things like throw ins. Also it should be restricted to only goals, offsides, penalties and red cards. I don't want to see teams challenging throw ins or corners or fouls. |

The future looks rosey for the Gunners |
