This thing has been annoying me. That little lad has been exploited by his family in order to sell the story to the tabloid press for money.
That's not what's really been getting my back up though. The rection has. All this shock and dismay about the fact a 13 year old is a dad and obviously had sex when he was 12. I've been sitting waving my hands at the TV and nearly pulling my hair out saying "Hello! Welcome to the noughties or should that be naughties? This type of thing has been going on for years, where the hell have you people been?".
They've just been debating it on a local TV show (our age of consent is soon to be lowered to 16) and the kind of jumping point on that was "Will it encourage more youngsters to have sex? Or will it make no difference?" I just kind of went "Of course it's not going to make any ******* difference, it's 17 right now and they don't care about it as it is. If a young girl and a young boy are going to go somewhere and go BAM! BAM! BAM! and the girl's gonna say "Ow that hurts" BAM! BAM! BAM! and the boy's gonna go "OMG What's wrong with me down there?!?!" BAM! BAM! BAM! and both go "OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!" followed by some panting and then "OK WTF was that?" then by God that's what's gonna happen"
A bloke from a Christian organisation blamed two TV shows (Eastenders and Hollyoaks) for the moral decay. Yeah, that's just great, blame the TV for all that's wrong with young people. Let's all close our eyes, ears and mouths to the fact at hand here. That fact is the girl's mother allowed boys to come into their house and have sex with her daughter. So there you have a major factor in this - p*** poor parenting. That my friends is a major factor across the UK and Ireland and it's failure to accept responsibility for children and their actions that's leading to it.
EDIT: Sorry for the rant

Well, he's Christian so I guess it's normal. It's always someone else's fault. That's their motto.

Well, its what the modern media basically does. I mean, if I didn't know any better, from watching the news you'd think knife crime was invented in the last 5 to 10 years by a 'hoodlum' generation. Rubbish!
True, especially the tabloids. I have read though that the Press Complaints Commission are now investigating The Sun and The People over possible payments.
"Minors must not be paid for material involving children's welfare, nor parents or guardians for material about their children or wards, unless it is clearly in the child's interests,"
I don't see how it was in the boy's interest here myself.

Excellent rant
Actually, the media 'hype' about this girl has resulted in Denmark's media focusing on a Danish 13-year-old who also went and got pregnant. I don't get why it's interesting -- it's not like it's the first time that a 13-year-old has ended up getting pregnant. It's not the first time that a 13-year-old has had sex - how does it then become 'news'?
What's interesting about the case from England is simply that the father looks like he's 8. It's not the fact, at least not from my point of view, that a 13-year-old and a 15-year-old (or whatever ages they had when they had sex) are now going to get a baby.

True nobody cares about the sexual age consent, in Denmark it's 15, and nobody at the ages of 15 cares about, if the girl they are having sex with is 15 or 14. And does the girl care about that the boy she sleeps, in theory (law theory), is "sexualy abusing" her, no!.

The law is made to prevent sexual abuse - not between 15 and 14 year olds, but between e.g. a 13-year-old girl and a 30-year-old man (or vice versa)
I know but in theory it is sexualy abuse to have sex with a 14 year-old if you are 15

yes, but as you said just before, no one really cares about that

Just as a side note, in Denmark if you groan (might not be the right word) during a rape, it's not a rape, because then you are "enjoying" it.
a little hard to prove
the christian organisations are right, but about the wrong thing: it's the media's fault that the christian organisations are angry. all the youth are portrayed as aggressive and angry knife gangs, drinking and drugging themselves to death and enjoying orgies in the park. That is far from the truth but it does leave to ageism being present everywhere. e.g. i was on the train yesterday and couldn't get a ticket from the station as the ticket machine was broken so i tried to buy a ticket from the guard and got fined. However, the other day my mum was on the train to work and lost her ticket, said that to the guard and he let her off with no charge and no need for any proof.

Why are they never right, because they believe in god.
That's quite offensive you know. I'm a Christian and that kind of thing doesn't offend me because I'm used to it, but all the same you shouldn't really be saying things like that, even if it was partly a joke, as you don't know who you might offend. It's really ignorant.
