sutty68 - Thanks, hope so too!
TheManxMissile - Let's make a deal, I'll tell you whenever one of their stats should hit 85. So you don't have to mention it every time Valley Classic and Overijse is more about his form (only 70 race days) than about very high stats! |

Classique De Plouay
Who's ready to fill Tom Boonen's shoes? Plouay is said to be a sprinters' classic, but the many hills are tiring and punchers never leave an opportunity like this down. We came heavy packed with me for the sprint and Slagter for the punch. Slagter, who still hasn't won a race this season, was keen on breaking away!
It was written in the stars. The breakaway of the day was caught. Although it still was 80 km, Slagter broke away.
A small group joined him and together they got a maximum distance of 3 minutes.
But FJD was keen to have Hutarovich sprint for the win. A win for the home crowd.
Under the flag of 10 km, they were caught. Slagter tried one final attack. No one expected him to last longer than 2 km, tops.
But he did it, amazingly, he round of his solo and took this beautiful win!
Driven by adrenaline and joy, I easily sprint to a second place!
Oh what a day! 1 - 2 for Team Argos - Shimano in this World Tour race. Slagter with the attack of a lifetime. He's extremely talented. I can't wait to see him at the Ardennes next year...

This is great. I'm just as happy as if I had won myself, I think. What a great day...
Hi everyone!
It's been a while, but I'm transferred back home. Not my house in the Netherlands, though, I'm in a Belgian hospital, near my home town. I think I'm getting better and I hope my season is not finished just yet. With some positive thinking, I might make Paris - Tours and Chrono des Nations...
Slagter and Stijn did brilliant in France today, but that's not all. A couple hours later, Kristoff scored an absolute beaut of a sprint in America, in the final stage!

Hey,
Lots has happened the last couple of weeks. Many changes in the schedule. First the World Port Classics were cancelled due to a lack of budget, then I forfeit for GP Jef Scherens, giving my place to our stagair in the team. I did race Paris - Bruxelles, but I didn't go to Britain, I needed some rest, I'm already at 80 race days and it's getting tough. Instead, I'll race two more races to finish the season, together with Willy, Paris - Tours and Chrono Des Nations.
Lots has been raced, so here are all results!
Paris - Bruxelles
A mass sprint is guaranteed here.
It was a beautiful day for racing today. None of that rain we saw the last months. It's been a horrible summer.
I was quite all right, albeit tired.
I started the sprint a wee too early, I couldn't keep up my top speed until the finish!
Hutarovich took payback for Plouay, nice job from him...
Result
1 | Yauheni Hutarovich | FDJ-BigMat | 5h02'12 | | 2 | Gert Steegmans | Topsport Vlaanderen - Mercator | s.t. | | 3 | Stijn Van Gent | Team Argos-Shimano | s.t. | IanButler | 4 | Romain Feillu | Vacansoleil-DCM Pro Cycling Team | s.t. | | 5 | Ben Hermans | Radioshack Nissan Trek | s.t. | | 6 | Steve Chainel | FDJ-BigMat | s.t. | | 7 | Jan Bakelants | Radioshack Nissan Trek | s.t. | | 8 | Assan Bazayev | Astana Pro Team | s.t. | | 9 | Jacopo Guarnieri | Astana Pro Team | s.t. | | 10 | Michael Matthews | Rabobank Cycling Team | s.t.
Vuelta à España
The Vuelta was nice to watch, with a lot of spectacle. Unfortunately, the world's best sprinters were there, so Degenkolb didn't score.
General Classification
1 | Joaquin Rodriguez | Katusha Team | 74h52'03 | | 2 | Juan José Cobo Acebo | Movistar Team | + 4'57 | | 3 | Jelle Vanendert | Lotto Belisol | + 8'12 | | 4 | Igor Anton | Euskaltel Euskadi | + 13'32 | | 5 | Dario Cataldo | Omega Pharma-Quick-Step Cycling Team | + 13'40 | | 6 | Dries Devenyns | Omega Pharma-Quick-Step Cycling Team | + 13'48 | | 7 | Denis Menchov | Liquigas-Cannondale | + 15'05 | | 8 | Mikel Nieve | Sky Pro Cycling | + 15'49 | | 9 | Edvald Boasson Hagen | Sky Pro Cycling | + 16'04 | | 10 | Fränk Schleck | Radioshack Nissan Trek | + 16'07 | | 11 | Steven Kruijswijk | Team Argos-Shimano | + 16'41 | IanButler |
So Kruijswijk did pretty good, considering his nice spot (6th) in this year's Giro.
GP de Québec
The parcours was changed to a more flat finish. Our sprinters did collectively well.
Result
1 | Steve Chainel | FDJ-BigMat | 4h15'49 | | 2 | Jens Keukeleire | Vacansoleil-DCM Pro Cycling Team | + 23 | | 3 | Tom Veelers | Team Argos-Shimano | s.t. | IanButler | 4 | Barry Markus | Vacansoleil-DCM Pro Cycling Team | s.t. | | 5 | Sep Vanmarcke | Team Garmin-Barracuda | s.t. | | 6 | Kenny Van Hummel | Team Argos-Shimano | s.t. | IanButler | 7 | Alexander Kristoff | Team Argos-Shimano | s.t. | IanButler | 8 | Assan Bazayev | Astana Pro Team | s.t. | | 9 | Manuel CÃa | Team Saxo Bank | s.t. | | 10 | Matteo Trentin | Lampre-ISD | s.t.
GP de Montréal
A little more disappointing for the team. Slagter couldn't repeat his success from Plouay and finished 11th.

Tour of Britain
Let me tell you straight away, this was a weird, damn weird, stage race. Kristoff got five (5!) second places, Veelers took a second and 2 third places. Van Hummel finished a couple of times in the top 5. But no sprinting stage win!! We had to wait for the final time trial to have a win...
Final Stage (ITT in London)
1 | Patrick Gretsch | Team Argos-Shimano | 22'49 | IanButler | 2 | Alexander Serov | RusVelo | + 3 | | 3 | Ed Clancy | Rapha Condor - Sharp | + 6 | | 4 | Stef Clement | Team Argos-Shimano | + 9 | IanButler | 5 | Boris Shpilevsky | AC Sparta Praha | + 10 | | 6 | William Bonnet | Bretagne-Schuller | s.t. | | 7 | Joost Posthuma | MTN-Qhubeka | + 11 | | 8 | Eloy Teruel Rovira | Rapha Condor - Sharp | + 14 | | 9 | Ben Day | UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team | + 15 | | 10 | Gaizko Dulce | Euskaltel Euskadi | + 17

This year's World Championships took place in Firenze, Italy. The weather was sunny and it were perfect conditions for glory and joy for some, disappointment for others.

Our very own Patrick Gretsch put on an amazing performance in the shape of his life! Next year we have the World Champion Time Trialing among our midst! He was living towards it for his entire season, building up shape very late. The team prepped him for this and this only. Supporting the team the entire year, only demanding one day for his own, and he took it!
World Championships 2013 - Road Race
This was an intense and tough race, with attacks from far out. But nobody expected a 22-year old(!) beast to grab the win so brutally, it was one for history. Ladies and gentlemen, we present the ultimate puncher, the one who earned this title for the first time, a beast to fear for the next decade, nephew of the one and only legend Fransesco, here is Moreno Moser!
