We´re still motivated to win a flat stage with Greipel but after these bad performances in the first stages, we´re not that optimistic for today. Again the terrain is very flat with two smaller climbs in the middle of the stage
This time it looked really great! Our train was fast and we had only Garmin with Hunter and Farrar in front of us. Greipel had a fantastic day form just like Martin and Eisel
When the sprint began Eisel made his move and tried to lead his captain out perfectly! Only Garmin were still faster but after Farrar´s weak sprint in stage 3, we thought he wouldn´t sprint for the stage win
But this time Garmin were really fast! Hunter did an amazing job and because of this Greipel decided to leave Eisel´s slipstream. He preferred to take Farrar´s wheel for the last kilometre. Ciolek had the same idea but Greipel was faster than him
Again Greipel and Columbia were beaten! Tyler Farrar took the stage in the closest sprint finish so far. We really can´t be happy with that! Greipel´s shape is great but he can´t show his strength. Ciolek managed to get on the podium again

Another flat stage, another chance for Greipel! I don´t think I have to tell you our goal for today! STAGE WIN!!!!
Our sprint preparation was a disaster! Anyway Greipel was able to sprint for the podium. Pozzato was in front while Garmin was also very fast on the right
Greipel´s acceleration was great on the last metres and it looked like he could even pass Pozzato and O´Grady
But look at that now! Again Greipel was beaten by a few centimetres! Pozzato took the stage in front of Greipel and O´Grady..it´s just disappointing for us

Thanks beagle, it´s great to hear that from you! It´s not easy to finish with that after such a long time but PCM 10 is so great and there are new talents like Sagan. They aren´t really good in PCM 09 so I will update myself |

Nice move with Martin. 35s to Cunego but gaining time on Leipheimer, Vinokourov etc.
Bad luck with Eisel and Greipel in many sprints, hope you can still win a few sprints with them and winning La Vuelta with Martin of course |

Bad luck coming so close in the sprints every time. I'm sure he can win one soon.
With a TT coming up, Martin is in a very good position. Let's hope he can stay there. |

76, 74 I guess. But the most important thing is his shape. Monfort also wasn´t the best climber but he still won the Tour with an amazing shape |

Today is a very important stage for us, as Tony Martin has the big chance to get back the leader´s jersey from Cunego! 31 flat kilometres in Valencia are waiting for us and we´re optimistic after Martin´s great results the last stages! The biggest favourites are Tony Martin, Levi Leipheimer, Klöden, Millar and Bradley Wiggins
After many riders crossed the finish line with an average time, it was Terpstra, setting the first good time today! 40´06
After Klöden crashed a few stages ago, his overall placement isn´t that good. With a good time today, he could bring himself in a better position. But Terpstra´s time was not beatable for the German as he missed it by 18 seconds. 40´24
Sastre is also over a minute behind Cunego at the moment but as we all know, he isn´t a good time trialist and his time was according to this. 40´54
Luis Leon Sanchez is always able to get a nice result in such a kind of stage. Brilliant time by him, beating Terpstra by 3 seconds! 40´03
Bradley Wiggins was the next favourite on the road but in this shape he will never be able to win such a time trial. Finally, he got a nice time but not more. 40´06
Maxime Monfort, our Tour de France hero was on fire! But his shape isn´t that good at the moment so we´re not expecting a lot by him these days. The only thing he has to do is helping Tony Martin the next days. Average time for him. 40´38
We thought David Millar can go for the stage today but probably he wasn´t in shape, too. 40´14
Then came the big performance by Levi Leipheimer! He destroyed the already existing times! And he set the new best time with 38´23
Franco Pellizotti wasn´t able to set a good time..but well, we didn´t expect that from him. 40´43
One of the biggest surprise today was Xavier Tondo! He really was on fire but of course he wasn´t fast enough to beat Leipheimer. But still a fantastic time for him. 39´51
Samuel Sanchez were just a few seconds after him on the road but his time was even better! We didn´t expect such a great ride by him in this flat time trial but he beat Tondo by 24 seconds. 39´27
Pozzato was another surprise. After his great prologue he confirmed his strength. He couldn´t beat Terpstra, Luis Leon Sanchez, Tondo or Samuel Sanchez but he still set a nice time. 40´11
There were only two riders left with Martin and Cunego. At the first check point Martin was 23 seconds behind Leipheimer, at the second one even more than 40 seconds but on the last part of this race he was able to get many seconds back. Still it wasn´t enough to beat Leipheimer but with only 8 seconds to Levi we can be happy! 38´31
Cunego lost many seconds today! And of course his leader´s jersey to Tony Martin. With more than 2 minutes and 40 seconds to Leipheimer, he crossed the finish line. 41´10

Nice 2nd place and overall lead again. I hope that Martin can keep it some days. Next is Alto de Aitana, right? |

Good luck with Martin and another 2nd for you
Wouldn`t be that bad if it continues like this and Martin is 2nd in the overall in the end, isn`t it?

Today is one of the hardest stage in Spain this year! Fortunately we´ve sent a strong team and I´m sure we´re able to defend the jersey but Sanchez, Leipheimer, Pellizotti and some more might be too strong on the final climb. The Alto de Aitana is one the hardest climbs this year and surely we will see who of the favourites can win this Vuelta
After our team raised the speed when the final climb started, many riders were dropped out of the pack. Martin, Monfort and even Tejay Van Garderen did a great job in these first kilometres on the Alto de Aitana. But then with only 5 kilometres to go, there were some great climbers attacking. Samuel Sanchez and Cobo were two of them the other were brought back to the Martin, Monfort group. With only 3 kilometres to go Samuel Sanchez took the lead while Cobo was a bit tired. Behind them, it was Pellizotti and Tondo, attacking again and again but they had no chance to get away while Martin and especially Monfort kept the pace incredible high! Maxime Monfort did a great job, protecting his captain Martin for the whole last 20 kilometres. Wiggins, Rodriguez, Cunego, Leipheimer and Sastre were not able to follow so we really knew that those `favourites`were out of the overall fight
With 3 kilometres to go, Tony Martin couldn´t stay in this group anymore while Sanchez was able to get a nice gap to him. We really wanted to defend our jersey so Martin did everything on the last kilometres. Monfort was still able to stay in one group with Pellizotti, Mosquera, Tondo and Moreno
One thing is for sure after this first mountain arrival! Samuel Sanchez is the strongest climber but was he able to get enough time to Tony Martin?
No he wasn´t...Tony Martin got a great 3rd place today behind Sanchez and Cobo. The most important thing was, that he only lost 30 seconds to the stage winner and that means he is still the leader of the Vuelta
With more than one minute behind Sanchez, came Pellizotti and the Monfort group! Pretty strong result for Monfort and our team today. Martin is still in front in the overall by 47 seconds! Leipheimer lost almost 4 minutes today just like Sastre and Rodriguez

Great place, how did you manage it ? Surely Martin is not in top fitness after the Giro and other races ? But anyway great result. |

Without the help of Van Garderen and Monfort he would never get this result. He had a good day form and the most other good climbers are just completely out of shape. Martin´s shape is still about 91-92 |
