Will be interesting to see who's in the 2nd peloton.
looked like basso may have been in the second group, which is surprising, not sure the coverage on NBC Universal Sports was not clear who was with which group coming in, they thought EBH was Cavendish.
And they think Di Luca is Petacchi, so that's hardly surprising. |

lol High Road. If they worked they would have caught Scarponi and Hagen would have won. |

I think Cavendish was really near the peloton and Columbia was waiting for him. Shame on them, Hagen is best anyway.

High Road doesn't really have that many helpers. And the few that they have were probably dropped or trying to help Cav back to the front. |

Wiggins was in the 2nd group. Great Giro so far for Garmin.
Edit: Oh, btw Cavendish was 15 minutes behind so I don't think they were trying to get him back up...
Soler also lost about a minute.
Augustyn lost a few seconds to Lovkvist for the white jersey today too.
And what I find weird is, Kiryienka was 1 minute behind the 2nd group...

Trying to be an objective norwegian speaking of Edvald I have to say he is incredible strong, not because of today's stage, mostly because of the second stage where he had a superrelay, and what he has done in other races shows that. F. ex Gent-Wevelgem, or Tour of Britain last year where he took 3 stages.
I think he is no doubt a wonderkid, and I think he also will do great in the 60+km timetrial |

With 3 kilometers left he was 20 seconds in front of the pack. |

With 3 kilometers left he was 20 seconds in front of the pack. Yeah, ... once he got overtaken there was no reason for him to hang on, so he probably just let them go. With is the best thing to do imo if you have cramps

They dropped then. Which means High Road had just Lövkvist, Rogers and Siutsou. And I don't think they are too keen on working for Boasson.

Didn't you see the bad cramps he had towards the end there? As soon as he got caught by the peloton he probably just stopped almost completely. |

Yeah he probably did stop, but with 20 seconds and 3 kilometers left I suppose he was still trying to get 2nd. So it was a surprise to see he was 2 minutes behind. |

Of course. But did you see how easily he passed Pozatto and Davis? I think he would have won.
EDIT: I meant Pozatto and Gilbert... Davis could follow Boasson

Yes but Pettachi didn't even try, he would have been quick had it been for the win

Petacchi was 59th, isn't it weird if he didn't try to defend his jersey at all. Now it belongs to Di Luca.. I'm pretty sure that's one of the things he's trying to do this Giro. |
