You didn't make that adventure we talked about But a solid fourth for Stijn that's very good!

PCM rulezz - Glad to see you're back! Stijn had quite some weeks, it seems he's falling back on a lesser form now, though. Let's hope he can end his season in style in Britain, though!
rogvi97 - Stijn is only 23, he'll make other adventures yet. Starting with an amazing adventure called: Cobbled Classics in a Belgian Jersey! Can't wait for that
Jakstar22 - Thanks! Any top 10 at a WT is indeed very good. Stijn is even in top 10 of the WT rankings, I think!! |

Tour of Colorado
Some bad news here from the USA. I didn't feel too well during the prologue so I went to the team doctor. I had to forfeit the race...
In the prologue, I came in 7th, 10 seconds behind winner Phinney. It was pretty good but there's no point in continuing the race while ill.
For the moment the plan is to stay in America, because I'll be racing the Canadian Classics later on. Normally those shouldn't be a problem if I heal without any problems.
See you then,
Willy |

PCM rulezz - Sure hope so, too! He's got a pretty good doctor there, though!
sutty68 - Yeah, he was really looking forward to this race, where he finished 2nd last year... |

Overijse Classic
Welcome here in Overijse, Belgium. Last year we've known some great times here. As one of my very first victories, I'll always love this race for that. This year, I'm coming back to defend my title!
I've spend too much time in the World Tour races I forgot how these smaller races go. They're much more unpredictable and a lot of fun. With about 70 km left to go, a small group broke from the pack. Two teams with each a pair. Veelers and me against De Waele and Van Keirsbulck!
We rode together for a long time. 10 km from the finish, Veelers did some brilliant stopping-work. De Waele saw it happen and tried to warn his team mate, but they were too late! I was gone!
Veelers could sit back and enjoy the show, while they lacked organization. I took an easy one. But don't let it fool you, winning is always a lot of fun and great for the moral!
Veelers saved energy and won the sprint for the second place very easily. Team Argos - Shimano at its best!

Well, this was great. I've successfully prolonged my victory here. I hope to do the same next year! That makes it 10 for this season! I'm really floating. When you get a good streak going, it seems endless!
Next is Plouay, classified as flat but quite hilly. Until then,
Stijn

Nice victory for Stijn, even though the field isn't that strong...
A shame that Willy is ill, I hope he gets better before the Canadian classics

Jesleyh - The field wasn't that strong, but it was a nice 2 vs 2 battle
sutty68 - Sure has! He's been floating ever since. Big turning point in his career. He really developed a lot since then (especially as a sprinter)
Mordekaiser - Let's hope he can continue that streak |

Wouters hospitalized with complications
Willy Wouters, known for his tenth place in the Tour of 2013, has been hospitalized in the United States of America. Wouters was in the States to ride the Tour of Colorado. On the second day, he abandoned with a fever. The doctors failed to control the fever and Wouters had to be brought into the emergency room at 3 am with a dangerously high fever.
The situation is still uncertain at the moment. All we know is that the team doctor is by Wouters' side. There was never any life threatening situation, but the condition is severe nonetheless. Wouters will be transported back home when his condition allows it. A word from his doctor: "Willy's season may as well just be over. The main thing is that he recovers well. I don't see why he should have any long term consequences. If he recovers well, he could be up and running in a few weeks, so he might start training in a month. Again, if all goes well. We know too little to say anything for certain now."
Wouters has not yet been reached for any comment. National coach of Belgium regrets the situation: "He was almost certain of a selection for the time trial. It's sad to lose him for the World Championships, I feel he could've done well there." |

So, killing off another rider, are we? Just kidding, but it appears as though you're not a friend of the autumn season ^^

JuanMotr - Top 5 would've been very hard, I think. But he could've done quite well
dienblad - Thanks a lot
cunego59 - Nobody's dying, promise. I explicitly said: no life threatening situation Well, really prefer early season and mid season. Plus I prefer Stijn & Willy together, so these times are hard for both reasons But don't worry, I won't always come up with excuses to skip (part of) the autumn season. Just as much as I can |
