Also now in the links at the bottom is the list of young riders. Here is how young riders will work for all teams. I will ensure that in depth reports of the U23 races are listed as soon as they finish.
Scouting
All teams will have 5 scouts. Each scout may only scout a single rider. Each month the information the team has about that rider will increase. A team can change who they want to scout at any time, at the end of each month they will be given information on the riders they are currently scouting only.
What information you get each month
Each month your team's scout will learn more about the rider, the range of his potential will reduce by 2. (All riders start at 1-8, after 1 month that could reduce to 2-7, or 3-8 or 1-6. The range shift will be random.)
Each month your team will learn 4 of the riders stat attributes (there are 13 total). These are also picked at random, but your team will not be given the same information twice. After 3 months your team will have learned everything they can about a rider (this will leave the possible potential down to two sequential numbers, and one of his thirteen attributes unknown).
Signing
Any young rider can be signed by any team. At the end of each month if I have a message stating a team wishes to sign a rider, that rider will get signed. If multiple teams both ask to sign a rider during the same month, 1 of those teams will be chosen at random for the rider to sign with.
Contracts
Each rider will sign for the minimum contract amount for the division that signed him (right now that looks like it will be 62 for WT, and 60 for Conti). The contract will be signed for 3 seasons and no nationality bonus or age penalties will be applied (much more details on that when I better cover contracts).
Notes:
Here are some numbers from the list to give people an idea of what to expect:
There are 1,919 young riders, 3 of them are potential 8.
The ranges for all attributes are 50-70 for an 18 year old, 52-72 for 19, 54-74 for 20 and 56-76 for 21.
Send me the at least the first and last name of the rider.
The list and a link back to these rules are also now in my signature.
EDIT: Example of how a monthly report will look:
Some Rider (Nat)
Potential: 2-7
Resistance: 57
Time Trial: 58
Downhill: 63
Cobbles: 53
Example of the following month:
Some Rider (Nat)
Potential: 2-5
Mountain: 61
Prologue:57
Hills: 58
Acceleration:60
And for the third month:
Some Rider (Nat)
Potential: 3-4
Flat: 59
Recovery: 56
Sprint:55
Fighter: 64
And if for some reason you try a 4th month:
Some Rider (Nat)
