A bit sad ending to the Giro, but you did your best, and that is a lot!
Another great race for 1t4i in France, I just don't get how any human can be so good at this game
I feel like this is the story I follow the closest and have the most fun reading since one of Guido's stories a long long time ago

Thanks a lot! I appreciate all the support!
@ csabi13 - I don't think the squad is big enough to handle three Grand Tours. Therefore I decided to focus on the two where we have the biggest chance.
@ lokytrew - Wow, that's amazing to hear! I'm very happy to hear that!

The non-Tour focus we have this year didn't really help our chances here in the national championships. Pretty much all our riders were out of shape, which made it impossible for us to repeat last year's amazing results. Here they are anyway!

Andreas Klöden for Swiss championship Did you edit his nationality by yourself or did I miss some official news? Anyway, it may be a bit late, but congrats to an awesome Giro! VdB showed some great racing there, even though you may call this final stage a "bitter ending". But like you already said: there's no reason to feel sad about this overall result!

Klöden's nationality change is because he doesn't like being German, isn't it?
Anyway, perhaps next year you can have a national champ on your team, again. Wait, you have Lagutin. |

fantastic results in the dauphine and really nice reports - i would have liked to see you battle the big names in the tour with coppel and think its a little strange for a wt team not to participate but well thats completely your decision of course!!! what are the next races to come? not much in july then i guess |

I planned on annoucing that by the start of the season, but I somehow forgot apparently. As you said, the idea was that he doesn't really like being associated with Ullrich and all the doping in Germany a couple of years ago. Therefore I figured it could be a bit interesting to see him do "a Haussler".

Thanks a lot! You pictured the Giro perfectly there.

Fortunately it's hard for him to lose his jersey, since I think there's just one more Uzbek rider in the pro peloton.

Thanks. I understand that you might feel that it's not that fun to not see us in the Tour, but I think it's better for the team to skip it. I promise you, we'll be very strong in the Vuelta instead.

He certainly was a huge surprise. And even more amazing seeing that he beat Riblon and Coppel by over a minute. But at the same time his TT stat has grown to 71-72 something, so he's not that bad.

Dauphiné went great for 1t4i, and knowing that the riders where completely out of form, a 2nd and 3rd in the NC's is a nice result too! Have a nice time simulating the TDF...

Wait a sec. You keep saying that you won't participate in the Tour, but 1t4i is a WT team. Doesn't that mean that you're automatically racing the Tour?
Anyway, nice placing in the rankings, 1t4i steady with the top WT teams. Keep it up!

WorldTour teams aren't forced to race the Tour in the game. It's possible to cancel the registration.

Tour de France
After leaving Radioshack and his younger brother for Lotto this season, Schleck could finally go all in for a top GC result. This motivated him to finally show all of his real strength in the Tour mountains. After three weeks of consistency, cleverness and a bit of luck, he eventually arised as the new champion of France.
The elder Schleck finally left his brother for bigger things.
The second of just three riders without a complete collapse at any time during the race was Denis Menchov. After spending more or less the whole race on or just outside the podium, he moved his way up to second overall in the final time trial. Not at all underserved after a great Tour from the old man from Russia.
The ever consistent Menchov finished second overall.
Last spot on the final podium in Paris was taken by the third and last rider without a fallout somewhere in the race. Not saying that Pierre Rolland was a huge surprise however. The move to Cofidis really proved to be the right decision after all. He almost lost the podium spot in the final TT, but saved it by one second.
Rolland was one second away from losing the podium.
There is a reason for this slightly surprising podium however - crashes. The first two weeks' giants, Giro champion Damiano Cunego and reigning champ here, Robert Gesink, tumbled over in the descent from Col de la Croix-de-Fer, on stage seventeen, while occupying the top two spots overall, by a large margin.
One of several crash victims on the rainy Alpe d'Huez day.
Lastly mentioned here, the sprinters' battle for green. That turned out to be an immensely exciting battle all the way to the finish line in Paris, with Gert Steegmans securing the victory, just two points ahead of Daniele Bennati, and with six others within the matter of 14 points. Mark Cavendish missed again.
Steegmans came out victorious from the close battle of the sprinters.

Steegmans taking the green jersey ?!?!?
Contador - suspended, of course.
Gesink - crashed, as mentioned.
Andy - simply sucked and finished 15th.
Cavendish - missed green due to a couple of successful breaks.
And Steegmans has developed a lot.
