So how big a lead does Porte have in Maglia Blanca? Any other highly placed youths in the breakaway?

Great result for Porte. This is gonna be one hell of a race, and now more reason to keep staying up until midnight every night to watch it. |

12'41... Losing 12'30 on Sastre today. He will be VERY dangerous now.
sastre was 10 minutes behind in gc before today's stage. now he is 2:30 ahead of vino, not a major issue as he showed very poor condition till now.
major threat come from arroyo who is 8 minutes ahead of the big guns.
very interesting stages have to come, i believe vino, evans, basso and nibali will get back on top of the gc in the final week.

this definitely has to be the bestest race ever.. O.O
If offense is the best defence, does it mean that defence is the worst defence?

Vinokourov about 10 min behind in GC.
Arroyo big favourite in my eyes now. Sastre was already gone and now he is a big favourite for top3.
Damn I love the Giro, even if I didn`t like the first flat stages |

Well the first 14 stages or so are always the worst from Carlos Sastre. That he is now the best placed of the prerace favorites gives him a good position. The next stages shouldn't be too much of a problem, and then he should be good. But of course hard to say.

I wouldn't rule out Tondo , he was the best out of the main group at the Terminillo climb , and he is sitting quite high up in the GC. Only problem i can see is that he will start working for Sastre in the mountain stages. |

anyway i truly believe that very few riders will reach Verona (final stage).
We might be going to see very little peloton over the last few stages |

They have a seriously good perspective now with the possibility to let Carlos or Tondo go into attacks, letting other teams do all the work.
Caisse will do much work now, and obviously Saxo Bank will try to control the pace to let Porte stick within the top 10 for as long as possible. I'm in doubt as to what Liquigas' role will be. They will probably still go for Nibali and Basso, but how much will they control? they have now both Kiserlovski and Agnoli they can send into breaks also.

As it's a question mark on how long Porte and Kiserlovski will go on, i'm putting my money on Arroyo unless Sastre gets better in the last week. Tondo will have to work for Sastre and i guess that won't change. We will see what happens saturday and sunday, and then we will know most of it.

Oh well, Mollema's GC is screwed now. Great how I hate long attacks with 2nd rate man winning 12 minutes (apart from Sastre). Bah.
I hope this will lead to the stupid retarded favorites to attack early in the weekend |
